The restaurant is located in Cambridge residential area and had us concerned about parking, but there is a small dedicated space which was almost unused at 6:30 pm. So, we were happy that saved us hassle and anxiety. There is a small patio for outdoor dining, and the rest is no the basement which is perfect for summer months, nice and cool. We were warmly and promptly seated as there was a good number of staff. Our main server was knowledgeable with a friendly flare, and we opted for pescatarian tasting menu. We chose our own wine from a great selection of local and international menu. We enjoyed everything: the small “amuse bouche” of restaurant pickles, appetizers of the blistered fava beans, the first course of smoked bluefish and the second course of grilled haddock and cabbage. The desert was a delicious olive oil cake with fermented tangerines. Overall ambiance was simple and warm, like coming home. The sound volume was great as we were able to hear each other and have a great conversation too. This is unfortunately an aspect that is so difficult to find at restaurants these days, and we really appreciated it. Thank you so much for a wonderful meal and for great service!

We came on July 4 in middle of a rainstorm. We were seated within 10 minutes and had the. Buddha Bowl and Fish and Chips plus 2 of their 4 choices of N.A. beer. The kale and all the veggies I. The bowl were fresh, perfectly dressed without wanting for more or being soaked. Chips were crispy (steak fries rarely are but these were!) fish was moist and not too heavily battered. They were slammed with customers yet service was efficient. I will definitely return. For us )in our 60s) music was too loud but for younger in our group they were fine.

This place is awesome! We traveled with a large group and had five kids with us, several with bad food allergies. Communication beforehand was excellent. Atmosphere is awesome, especially during the World Cup, with TVs everywhere. Really good food, good drinks, good service, kid friendly, allergy friendly. Overall A+ we will definitely be back again next time we're in Boston.

Great British and Irish cuisine, awesome nightly music and overall atmosphere.

We ate outside on a nice summer evening. My wife enjoyed the Armenian options and really liked her kebabs. My Statler chicken breast was very good and the jasmine rice/whole carrots with a flavorful sauce rounded out an excellent dish. Wines by the glass were in the $11.-$14. range (not bad), with a nice selection and the limoncello flan was creamy , with understated flavor (still good). The outside area is partially covered and overlooks the entrance courtyard and is fairly quiet even with guests coming and going. We also enjoy the atmosphere inside and particularly like the high tops by the bar which provides a convivial space. Staff were attentive and professional, and nothing could be improved upon regarding the service. For us, Nubar is a always a safe bet and is a place we enjoy coming back to in Harvard Square. Everything seems to work well.
