   Perfect environment and overall experience at which to celebrate our 40th anniversary. Lovely surroundings amplifyng the smoky Mountains natural beauty and Appalachian culture. Dan, our server, was engaging and a pro. The house sommelier recommended a fanastic wine that enhanced our evening. We're fortunate to live in beautiful East Tennessee and will add Dancing Bear to our favorite dining establishments circuit.

   Everything about the brunch was perfect. The food was good, the setting was beautiful and the bluegrass band added to the atmosphere. Our server Brad was personable and efficient and kept plates cleared and drinks refilled.

   Superb, friendly service from everyone helping us. We went for the Sunday brunch buffet. Fruit salad, field green salad, skillet veggies, prime rib, shrimp & grits, fried chicken, scrambled eggs, biscuits & gravy, bacon, sausage links, and bread pudding. Just a couple of minor issues: A serving of shrimp & grits is a heaping spoon of grits and only one shrimp. Prime rib is sliced the wrong direction making it a little tough (the server admitted that). The basket of tiny muffins were hard and dry. For the price, there should be an alternative dessert.

    Enjoyed the ambiance with the bluegrass duo. We drew the short stick when it came to servers. Told us coffee was available at the coffee bar. After trekking through the pavilion and dining areas to find it, we had to serve ourselves and made several trips back for refills. Only once during our meal did he manage to check on us as he topped off our water glasses. Did not clear our plates to make room for return trips to the buffet. Food selections were decent, and the chef tried to elevate the dishes with an extra touch, sometimes to the detriment to flavors such as the type of sausage for the gravy or overpowering sweet red pepper in the shrimp and grits. Serving bowls were often low or empty. Was the meal the approximately $100 for two guests? No

    We had a lovely time at the Sunday Bluegrass Brunch. Amazing food selection included fresh salad, smoked salmon, shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles, roast beef, fresh biscuits with either gravy or homemade strawberry jam and an amazing bread pudding all served with a smile on their hosted buffet. The bluegrass duo were great too. Not too loud but just right. Thanks for an amazing meal.

    To start, the Artisan Cheese Board is a lovely charcuterie. Highly recommend the bacon and crab soup next - such surprising smoky flavor and not too creamy. Finally, the pork chop and filet are perhaps the best we've eaten anywhere! Top it off with a cobbler made from locally sourced fruit or flourless chocolate cake, or if you prefer more old school, step outside to make your own s'mores by the patio fire pit. Not an inexpensive place to eat, but great for a date night or special occasion.

    Food and service was very good but the over environment could have been better. It was dark inside they pack you in and between drinks and our meal we were in and out in an hour.

    The pork belly is outstanding! My husband always orders the burger which is phenomenal. Every time we visit Townsend we dine at Dancing Bear and we’ve never been disappointed . My brother-in-law said it was the best dining experience he has had. The service is outstanding. The Old-Fashioned is very interesting. If you’re an Old-Fashioned fan , I would suggest you try it. They have an extensive wine list. Be sure to make reservations.

    This is our first time at Dancing Bear Restaurant. We reserved a table outside and it was a beautiful evening and our service and food was excellent. My husband had the trout dinner with their dinner salad and I went for the oysters appetizer as my main along with their dinner salad. I am usually leery about order oysters anywhere except for MD (where I grew up) because I have been disappointed eating them in any other state. I was not disappointed at all. They were delicious with a wonderful sauce and a pea salad to go with it. Our waiter was wonderful explaining about the food we ordered and making suggestions. We are looking forward to going back and taking friends with us. It is pricy but worth it.

    As always; Dancing Bear does not disappoint! The flavors of the food are unique and always delicious! My filet mignon was cooked to perfection and so very tender. My husband loved the mussels and scallops ... he's still talking about it today! I rarely order dessert but just had to try the creme brulee ... the best I have ever tasted! Dancing Bear is definitely our "go to" restaurant for fabulous food and wonderful ambiance!

    Excellent as usual. Great service and everything we had was great. The peach/mozzarella/basil appetizer was fabulous and the bread pudding was also fantastic. This is our favorite place to eat in the area and we come here whenever we can for special occasions.
