Due Lire

What a fantastic restaurant! We just love this place. Their back patio has heaters and we were even able to enjoy ourselves at 41°! Gorgeous food, excellent service, terrific place!

Lovely neighborhood Italian spot that makes for a great intimate dinner--either for a date or a double date. The portion sizes are perfect! (Most Italian restaurants are over kill with their portion sizes, but Due Lire provided the perfect amount of food.) Due Lire has a very cute outdoor patio that can be well-heated even in the cold. Highly recommend!

Super authentic Italian. We come here all the time. The attention to detail is perfect, the food is consistently excellent and the owner is there every night. Tip: Ask for his wine suggestions! I don't know much about Italian wines but he has really turned us on to some good ones.

Excellent flavors and interesting combinations of ingredients. Appetizers were large and easily shareable. The lovely backyard patio is protected from the wind but open to the sky. There were 2 standing heaters (not needed when we were there) to help extend the season.

Had a wonderful meal with a friend outdoors on the patio, the staff did a great job of making sure everyone was comfortable and well tended to while insuring Covid precautions were being followed. Tables were distanced, small parties only and the heat lamps provided the perfect amount of warmth as the sun set. We had the calamari, fusilli pasta and pasta special and everything was delicious. Would highly recommend you support this wonderful restaurant!

We were seated late and it took quite some time for the first dish to hit the table - 40 minutes after our reservation time.

They always have the most delicious fresh food and homemade pasta . I have not found pasta as good as Due Lire elsewhere in Chicago. They never disappoint.

Seated outside in the lovely garden...service food and ambience were all very good...the chicken with roasted root vegetables was excellent.

Dining on Due Lire's patio is a delight. The food is amazing, the wine delicious, and Massimo and his staff so friendly. We go back every chance we get and it has kept us sane through the summer of 2020.

As always, Due Lira was awesome. The food is fantastic and creative, without being overly experimental or pretentious. The service is always perfect and the bar produces perfect cocktails.

It was our first time dining at Due Lire. I planned a surprise birthday dinner for husband with another couple. The service & food were great! The hidden patio is just lovely and very private! I love we weren't eating on/near the sidewalk. We'll be back!

Neighborhood gem, for sure. This was our second visit, and it was just as good as the first.

Portions are a little small. I wish there were side options. I was still hungry. That being said, the food was delicious. Just be ready to order more than you normally would. This is a special night out and not a place for a casual meal as it is pricy in the end.

Such great Italian food - and they are doing a solid job with Covid and making sure all precautions are taken. Love this place.

Have eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. This is very authentic Italian cuisine with a consistent record of great quality. Very comfortable and unpretentious with great service. Felt very safe dining on the patio.

Always an enjoyable meal with terrific service. The salads, pastas and specials are different and bursting with flavor. Decent cocktails and wine list. The inside is nice and cozy but the outside garden in the back is superb. The owner, Massimo is very pleasant and it feels like you’re dining at his home.

Celebrated my 35th birthday at Due Lire. I have lived in the area for over 10 years but had never stopped in. Sitting in the back garden made it feel like I wasn't even in Chicago. The food was good (especially the meatballs). My risotto was alright but my husbands Spare Ribs were AMAZING

We ate at Due Lire in the midst of the pandemic---they have a lovely patio in the back. The food here is always excellent and reasonably priced for the quality of the food. The service has suffered just a little bit---no doubt pandemic-related. We will continue to go t Due Lire. Support local businesses!

Lovely meal! Shiitake pasta is superb, best since I left Italy.

We have gone to Due Lire many times and it was one of our favorite places. However, this trip was very disappointing. The biggest issue was the pasta. Normally their pasta is home made and delicious. This tasted like it came out of a box. We ordered the special pasta. Also our group ordered another pasta and felt the same. In both cases the sauce was tasteless. Finally, the service was terrible. The server did not know the menu other than memorizing the specials. We live downtown and this is too far to drive for a mediocre experience.

Amazing food and service. I will recommend this place to everyone and will definitely be coming back. We had the short rib raviolis, gnocchi, and the Brussels sprouts. All of them were phenomenal. The patio was very nice, and while most the tables were full I didn't notice noise coming from any other tables.
