Elkins Resort on Priest Lake
I love Elkins! Their Food, their Service, their Hospitatlity and Ambience are top notch. The patina on the old logs give it the Old Lodge feel and double sided fireplace fully ablaze makes it very comfy/cozy in the Winter.
The Double Lobster Tails on Risotto Special for Valentines Day was beautifully presented, sweet and tender and my Wife had the fall off the bone, tender and sooo flavorful Short Ribs on Rice. And to top it all off, we shared the Dessert Special, Bananas Foster over a fresh Belgian waffle...wow!
Our Server was friendly and did an outstanding job of timing it all perfectly.
The Wine list by the Bottle is extensive with many good ($$) and great ($$$) Vineyards represented, even the wines by the glass are well represented.
We are very fortunate to live close to Priest Lake and this outstanding old Resort on the Lake.
Food was excellent
Nice atmosphere view of the lake
Friendly efficient staff
Food and service are awesome! Right on the lake. During the summer they have a deck and for the fall, winter & spring months sit by the fire and enjoy the food and lake
Anniversary dinner was outstanding
Pretty good. One of the halibut dinners was overcooked. Son wanted steak caesar and we were charged for steak dinner and full size salad; would have been nice to know what we were going to pay for especially when we didn’t get the accompaniments that came w entree. Margarita was odd; tasted mostly like booze but wo the buzz.
Chicken picatta was yummy. Desserts were through the roof!
We LOVE Elkins and can’t wait to go back. Food and ambiance is AMAZING!!!
I love Elkins ambience and the food is always delicious and unique. It does get noisy when busy but it’s still worth dining there!
Miso Salmon was reliably excellent and swordfish special was outstanding. Tyler was personable and provided attentive service.
BEST customer service and delicious food. Highly recommend for all points.
Family and friends dinner on vacation
Out waiter Colin was wonderful. Fun and efficient. The manager Cricket was wonderful, accommodating our large party of 11 on a busy Saturday night.
Excellent food and customer service! A wonderful evening out!
The waiter was outstanding and the various entres our party of 4 had, were superb!
Elkins never disappoints. We have been coming for years. We were a bit early, 15 minutes, and were promptly seated. Service was seamless. The menu has something for everyone - vegetarian to meat eater. The meals were well prepared and presented. Don't pass up the huckleberry crisp. Can't wait for the next opportunity.
I highly recommend their New York strip with pepper gravy.
We went to Mother’s Day brunch & the food was excellent. The staff in the buffet were super busy, but still very kind.
Elkin's honored our request for a table with a view of the lake, best view in the restaurant. The food was fantastic, especially the huckleberry crepes and omelets. The staff was most friendly.
The food. Oh the food.
You have beaten any and all on the lake.
Fantastic service. The server was a joy .
Fabulous food. Great service. Would give our meal 5 stars. Will definitely be back. The morrel mushrooms were so good as well as the veal, salmon, halibut, and seafood pasta. Our party of 8 was impressed.
Elkins resort as a whole is awesome!
We visited for holiday from New Braunfels Texas
And loved it. We’ll be back!
So glad you found us! We look forward to your return.
Without a doubt one of the restaurants we have been to in all of the Northwest. You would have to go to Seattle to exceed it.
Best meal I've had in years. A very special atmosphere for our 41st anniversary celebration.
Wine - expensive but local choices offered, Reeder Bay Red - chosen and paired well with our meals
Appetizer - flat iron steak strips - excellent
Entrees: Shrimp Scampi - fair presentation, too much pasta, bland flavor, needed more lemon to brighten up the profile. The shrimp were more steamed that grilled, no grill marks and just minimally done - less salt and more pepper, thyme, basil, oregano, olive oil, lemon/citrus flavoring...no plate sauces aside from the angel hair pasta...No vegetable sides offered....
Sea Bass - excellent, great flavor profile & plate sauces. Rice and asparagus completed the dish. We both should have ordered this...
Dinner was excellent and our server Erin was amazing. Great experience!
The shrimp scampi was low in flavor, overdone. The fish in the seafood pasta was overdone and dry. My son with celiac, who ordered only GF food, had a bad reaction-not good. Celiac disease is no joke. The veal osso bucco was good.
Our cabin was comfortable with everything we needed to cook our own meals.
However, the food is so good in the dining room you likely won't want to. We had a breakfast, a lunch and a dinner and all were excellent.
Perfect Mother's Day Brunch Buffet. I think our waitress was Sherry? and she was great! Thank you!
A beautiful winter wonderland. The cabin was rustic but elegant. Would love to try staying here during the summer months. Restuarant had excellent service with friendly waitresses. Food choices were ranged from traditional to specialized dishes. Loved the ambiance.
Outstanding, about the 5th. time in the past few years, still great food, service always great. Our anniversary this visit spent the weekend there, food ever meal great, service professional and personable
Nice dinner and very good service
Not worth the prices of the food. Wasn't quality. No flavor.
Shocked that they charge us a Resort Fee when we just went for dinner! (We were not staying at the resort.)
As a result, they missed out on our larger group dinners. (More business for Hill's Resort.)
Great service. Outstanding food. Wonderful view.
Elkins never disappoints! The menu is extensive, any and all huckleberry fusions can be found the the waitstaff is attentive without being obtrusive. The view of the Priest Lake just enhances the experience and is always a family favorite when we are in Northern Idaho.
My wife and I decided to dine here for our anniversary. It was a Monday night, but we made a reservation anyway. When my wife and I arrived, we were seated at a table one foot behind a table of twelve, and 2 feet in front of a table of four. While it appeared they had attempted to maximize their floor space by putting tables "edge-to-edge", this was in itself not the most prevalent problem. The problem was that both tables were extremely loud with several children. When the waitress came over to ask about specials, she had to shout over both tables, and I had to ask her to repeat herself several times (as an example of noise level). Personally, I think the table of twelve should have been moved to a private room, or given more space between them and others. Elkins seemed quite full for a Monday evening, and I realized that they were seating people only in one area of the restaurant (likely due to staffing).
Once their food came, thankfully, the large table quieted down some, and the smaller table left. My wife and I started enjoying our meal, until children and parents (yes, multiple parents) proceeded to start using the "door" which our table was blocking (not sure why the door or table were there, but both should not have been) and bumping our table going in and out of said "door" to play frisbee. Several times the frisbee hit the large glass door or windows and was extremely unnerving.
Thankfully, the food was excellent, the wine pairing was well recommended, and the dessert and aperitifs were splendid. The waitress, was very kind, and God bless her, had to deal with several tables, including the large one next to us, as it appeared Elkins was vastly understaffed for such a large amount of people on a Monday night.
Although the food was excellent, the overall experience was more akin to a Golden Corral, due to the noise level. Also, the restaurant was quite rustic and beautiful, but any element of ambiance was lost in the noise and constant disruptions.
We had made reservations on July 26th or 27th for a table for 2 for Aug 5th and noted it was our anniversary through open table. We arrived early and were going to wait in the bar if table was not ready and they said our table was. The hostess took us to a table that was three table rows back from the window and seated us. By the dance floor. She said that she would take another look at the listing because the tables in front of us were open. I believe 3 table by the window were open at the time and then even a couple tables in what would be the second row open. We did not see her again. We felt like we were put at a table that would have been open if no reservation was made. Most of those tables remained empty for 45 minutes while we were there. Our meal was good and our server was fine also. Just felt like we were put back by the kitchen door and where there was a lot of traffic. Thought we would have had a nicer table since it was our anniversary and had the reservation. No mention to us about our anniversary either. I realize now I should have asked for a window seat at the reservation time. Just thought I would pass our experience on to you.
This place never disappoints! This is the very best food at Priest Lake with great wine, great service and a great wine list.
This was a very special 61st anniversary celebration and we'd made reservations far ahead and actually went to the restaurant to request a window table which we did not receive. We've been coming to Elkins for over 20 years every summer, so this was a disappointment. Our waiter said he'd been there for 7 years, but it seemed he may have just recently begun waiter duties. He dropped silverware off the plates several times, he served the entrees to the men first, same entree. The eldest and the honorees were served last. We are very sorry to see this happen to one of our formerly favorite restaurants at Priest Lake. The food was good, fortunately, especially the sea bass special.
We found the food to be excellent. The service was friendly and we enjoyed speaking with them. The view outside of the Selkirk range is awesome. Take advantage of this place.
Our dinner was wonderful. I had the Shimp Scampi pasta and my husband had the cracked pepper steak. Restaurant was very cozy and quiet and our server was nice. Prices were a little high but we had planned on it. Definitely worth stopping and treating yourself
