Really excellent food. Lamb chops are amazing. Biriyani and lamb rogan Josh absolutely superb. Service friendly but a little uncoordinated and lacks that excellence you’d get in a high end French or Italian restaurant. Paper napkins understandable but would prefer a proper one at this price point. Menus look a little dishevelled already perhaps need to be reprinted more often price came to £68 a head for two with drinks. Not cheap but becoming par for the course in these expensive days. Would return.

Booked at the last minute as we decided to have a weekend away staying in Masham. WOW WOW WOW. Food incredible, service warm and attentive and the wine flight was superb. Just go you will not be disappointed!

This was our first time in York as well as our first meal. From the time we arrived to the time we left Legacy was a wonderful experience. Our main server, Jaime was very knowledgeable and personable. The vegan tasting menu the chef created was so creative, exciting and delicious. We also had the wine paring which just made it all perfect. They even made sure the wine was vegan. The entire staff was so friendly and accommodating but not in the typical five star restaurant type of way. No pretension here. It was just so warm and inviting there and I can’t wait to return.

Superb menu, created around the chef patron's antipodean roots. Carefully crafted flavours and presentation in a wonderfully warm and welcoming, newly refurbished restaurant, packed with ambience. Brilliant bar on entry, superbly looked after by all staff, fully informed regarding the dishes served and assisted with wine choices. Chef patron attended tables to detail origins of food and made the experience excellent. All in all wonderful.
