The seasonal menu at Isla is flexible and generous, moving from snacks and smaller plates to dishes for the centre of the table, all cooked with confidence and clarity of flavour. Expect beef tartare, pumpkin fritti, stracciatella with anchovies, seabass crudo or clams in sherry, followed by fried red mullet, roast chicken with its jus or well-sourced sirloin steaks. The wine list is an extension of the kitchen and the room, shaped by freshness, texture and place. Sparkling wines set the tone, from cider and pét-nat to grower Champagne, followed by saline whites, selective skin-contact bottles and light-to-medium reds chosen for lift and drinkability. Concise and considered, every bottle earns its place at the table. A King’s Cross neighbourhood favourite, Isla is made for settling in — including on the serene garden terrace with a retractable, weather-proofed awning for year-round dining.
