Situated down a quiet side street, on the corner of elegant St Peter’s Square, The Carpenter’s Arms is an independent nineteenth-century pub with a beautiful garden where the food is the star.We focus on simple, beautifully cooked seasonal food. Our menu and Specials Board change daily: Simply cooked sustainable fish; British meats; delicious vegetarian and vegan dishes and tempting puddings to finish. Simple dishes, big flavours.We are just as serious about good drink as we are about good food. Our well stocked bar helps keep the relaxed and convivial spirit of a local boozer very much alive.We operate a rotating list of guest real ales, as well as world wines from just under £30 a bottle. We also serve the only cocktails worth filling the glass for – a negroni for lunch, a martini before dinner, an Old Fashioned when you need a stiff drink, a Margarita for when you want to pretend you’re on holiday and a Bloody Mary for the morning after.

    Food quality was excellent. It was our 1st visit, we were pleasantly surprised by the menu and how beautifully everything was cooked. We asked the waitress to send our compliments to the chefs. The waitress Emily looked after our every need, she was knowledgable, attentive and very professional. Art on the bar was also excellent. Our table was lovely too, a very beautiful setting to enjoy a lovely summers evening meal outside.

    It was my first visit to this cool and vibrant place. It offers everything that I adore about the Gastro pub. There is the option of a traditional and cosy interior but we visited on a sunny Saturday, so sat outside and enjoyed the lively atmosphere. The chicken Schnitzel and Tiramisu were fabulous. Service was great considering the busy time. It’s the best of London pubs. Bravo.

    We were over for the England v Ireland rugby match and were looking for somewhere a little different to dine the night before. We had a fantastic meal with friends in a lovely setting along with excellent service.
