Please be sure your party arrives promptly.This old-time watering hole once known as The Clear Water Tavern, catered to the desires of the cattle drovers , a group of professional middlemen who purchased herds of cattle and swine from New England farmers. They would drive animals down post roads to the New York City markets, and sell them “for as good a price as they could get.” Today Old Drovers Inn offers a unique casual dining experience including pub night every Wednesday. Be sure to have a specialty cocktail featured on our cocktail menus. We are proud to have won the last 4 years Chronogrammies Best of the Hudson Valley for: Bartender, Craft Cocktail, waitstaff and service, burger, pretzel, Wedding coordinator and best fine dining in the entire Hudson Valley

The Dining Room shows off the 1888 structure's original details with contemporary comforts with seating on graceful banquettes and sheepskins on dining chairs. Original fireplace and curved gable walls create a warm atmosphere. NB: Belden House has a MICHELIN Key and its dining program is considered one of the most exciting 2025 openings in Connecticut. Belden House boasts a curated selection of local spirits and an extensive wine list. The intimate bar (4 seats), with handcrafted cocktails, is perfect for a drink or coffee before or after your meal, and a guest may also dine at the bar. Market Place Tavern is the latest concept and restaurant for Market Hospitality Group (MHG). The Tavern which overlooks the Litchfield Green, is the oldest public building in town and one of the oldest penal facilities in the state. It was built in 1812 to serve as a jail for British prisoners during the War of 1812. A cell block and a three-story wing with additional cell blocks, which now is part of the restaurant’s bar area, was added in 1846. The jail closed in 1992 and was used as a treatment center for men serving prison sentences. It shut down again in 1993 and reopened in 1994 as a rehabilitation center for women facing incarceration. When that center closed, the state decided to sell it.The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner and features “American Tavern Food” with Craft Beers and Cocktails made with local spirits.
