Built circa 1820 as a grist mill, The Old Mill Inn is a newly-renovated historic, waterfront, adults-only (18 years+) bar and restaurant on Mattituck Creek, located on the North Fork of Long Island. It serves classic American fare with a fresh local twist such as fish & chips, crispy squid, oysters, cheese burgers, and seasonal local vegetables.The past and the present collide inside the historic bar room (serving seasonal craft cocktails, wine and beer-on-tap) where the mill's original gear shaft stands among the wooden ceiling beams signed by past patrons, dating back to the late 1800s. The new owner received the award for Historical Renovation of the Year from the Long Island Preservation Society in 2024.

Tweeds Restaurant & Buffalo Bar is an American style bar, grill and casual restaurant. This restaurant has a very active events calendar, so guests are encouraged to check out the website to see what is coming up. Every Wednesday is date night, with drink specials and live music. This is encouraged both as a date night for current couples and as a singles night for available individuals to meet and socialize. Tweeds also features plenty of live music, like classical pianist and guitarists coming in and performing on weekends. Tweeds serves several American classic and comfort food items, but its specialty is bison. In fact, there is a separate menu just for the bison-related offerings. These signature house items include grilled bison kebabs, bison hangar steak, bison burger and a grilled bison cowboy steak. Tweeds also has the areas largest selection of local and national bourbons.

    I had the Bison Filet Mignon. It was a large portion, perfectly cooked Black and Blue (always order rarer than your normal due to being lean). It came with delicious mashed potatoes and a large portion of vegetables cooked al dante. The meal was fantastic and good value. We had a specialty cocktail that was great too. No room for dessert. :)

    We had dinner at the Griswold Inn recently. Food was excellent, ambiance was perfect. The only small quibble I had was that the women at the front desk were not the friendliest, we were standing there for several minutes before we were acknowledged. We were not greeted by them, but one of them stated that the restaurant host would be back shortly. We had the summer menu tuna appetizer, which was delicious. I had salmon and my partner had the short ribs, both were excellent. Dessert was from the specials menu, a warm butter cake with caramel drizzle, blueberries, strawberries, and whipped cream. Delicious! We should have ordered two! We plan to return again.
