We walked in hostess brought us to our table we proceeded to wait 20 minutes just to get water we asked if we could order and the girl said that was someone else’s problem so I took matters into my own hands and went to get service myself only then did we actually get our food so we wait get the food and my wife’s omelette was cold and they used the wrong cheeses very disappointing it didn’t seem like anyone working there cared the service was by far the worst service I’ve ever received and the food was mediocre at best
Our first and definitely not our last visit. Although 2 of our 3 separate groups (of 6 folks, total) were coming from quite a distance and affected by unforeseen traffic this evening, the wait staff were quite accommodating and served my wife and I immediately, and we settled in for hors d'ouvres that were fresh, well prepared, tasty, and timely - so much so that we were quite impressed. Our fellow guests arrived shortly and all were pleased with the selections from the food and beverage menus, and we settled into an unrushed meal that was attended to superbly by our server, who was very attentive & available, yet not at all intrusive. Well done, thank you, and bless you... we will be back.
Hi Patty, Thank you so much for your review we love hearing from happy customers. I will make sure to let the servers know they are doing a great job. Hope to see you back soon ..remember every Saturday night is live music at the Ridge.
Hello. Went to dinner on Saturday eve. All was great with the exception of the music at 7:00 in the dining room. A very good musician but We were unable to have dinner conversation. We all felt that the musician should be set up in the bar area. If you are paying for a nice dinner it is good to be able to chat at the table. Other than that, great experience.
Hi Bonnie, We have listened to our customers and will make sure the music is at a reasonable level for dinners. Hope to see you again soon.
I was so hopeful about this restaurant. Unfortunately, the service was awful although the waiter was nice. He disappeared for lengths at a time. Our drinks were watered down and the waiter said they are premeasured so we'd have to pay more to have alcohol added. The portions were very small and food was cold. The highlight of the evening was the singer who was very good.
We went for dinner and to hear the live music. The food was delicious. I had the braised short rib and my husband had the pork tenderloin. We also split the strawberry fritters for dessert. So good! The cocktails are delicious also. I had the white cosmo. Very good. The music was good but a little loud. It was difficult to talk
Hi Allilluu thank you for your review we will make sure the music is kept to a reasonable level for dinners ..hope to see you back soon.
This is a lovely tucked away in the hills venue that is not too far off the beaten path. Come for the ambiance, see the skiers skiing, the snow... etc. It's quite lovely inside, the separated bar area keeps the noise to a minimum in the dining area. the staff was great all around. The food is very expensive as you would expect with this type of eatery. The quality of the food was mixed. one dish, the pork loin was done to perfection and delicious for first to last bite. The Crispy stuffed eggplant appetizer for $14 was small, soggy and not as described. I would avoid it even though it tasted fine. Overall, a great romantic date spot... just bring your deep pockets!
Valentines brunch on sunday
The food was amazing! The band and acoustics were a little loud, so we either yelled at each other or gazed out at the snow. But it was delicious!
Our server was horrible! Very inattentive I had to get up from my table 6 x to get things we needed. I have been in the restaurant industry for over 20 years and currently am disabled and can’t work. This was the first time in over 8 months that we have gone out to eat and did something special with the kids and we were very disappointed. The food was not good quality and we ordered calamari which just looked like a half a handful and then saw another table get calamari and it was a mound of food. It was upsetting seeing as we had 4 kids and 2 adults and spent over 150$. That was our 1 night out for a long while and we were very disappointed.
I had a great night with my girlfriend for the Valentines Day event. The food and service were excellent. The only negative thing that I could say is that I thought the music was a little too loud. We were sitting about 30 feet away from the band on the first floor. Overall a great time though.
We waited an extremely long time for our food and it honestly wasn’t that good. Also. We got a half of glass of champagne, and not chocolate covered strawberries. The drinks were not really good either. Bad experience for us, wouldn’t go back.
Nice atmosphere.Next time I would request a table by the window. The food was wonderful. We enjoyed the band but there were a lot of unsupervised children running around up and down the stairs.
8 if us went to grab a late lunch after a day of visiting a winery and brewery. They were able to accomodate all our requests including the Mountain View. Fun place l! Great lunch food. Drinks were excellent! Would recommend for casual lunch with a view!
Beautiful location overlooking the ski slopes. Greeting very friendly. Food was very good. Soft Tacos for appetizer, very good. Scallops with risotto for main meal, very good. Asparagus cut up in the risotto was OK but not my favorite. Crème Brule for desert was very good.
Always a great meal and service!
It was apparently a very busy evening. It took a while for the food to come out to the tables but when it did arrive it was excellent. There seem to be just one girl serving all the tables up on the second floor. It was a nice ambience for a date night
We had a special menu for restaurant week tomato soup was very good my wife had the Cesar salad and I had fried calamari both where very good. She had shrimp and clams over linguine. I had pork tenderloin both again both dish where very good. We both had cream brulee with blueberries on top very good the sweet and tart from the berries. We will be going back service was great.
Clam chowder was awesome, entree meals were a bit on the small size, drink was a bit weak
A bit expensive for what you get, but a nice venue to watch the skiers and snowboarders.
Have tried this restaurant several times, never seems to be the right time to go.
Always understaffed and food is hit or miss, sometimes the food is awesome, sometimes the food is poorly prepared.
I love this place especially when they decorate for Christmas! The ambiance is so nice with the tree in the middle of the dinning room and the Christmas tree decorated to the side. The food is great even though it’s on the pricier side.
The only thing I don’t like is that when you walk in, no one is there to seat you... and when it’s not busy they seat you in the bar area while the dinning room is just sitting pretty and not utilized. If I’m paying the prices they charge, I should be seated when I walk in, and in the dining room. Also, the table side s’mores are $15 for 4 s’mores... just go to the store and make them yourself for cheaper.
It’s fun once a year.
Zo was very friendly and provided great service overall.
I had had the steak tips on another visit to the Fire on the Ridge and they were so delicious that I ordered them again. These were tough and I could hardly cut them with my knife. I was very disappointed. For the cost of $19.00, I think you should be given some rolls/bread or a salad/vegetable with your meal. My husband's burger was okay. Our friend's meals...the guy said his was good. He had weck?? But his wife's meal, which the waitress recommended highly, was not to her liking. We probably won't be returning very soon for dinner.
As always, the food was amazing. This time, we attended the Thanksgiving buffet. It was literally the best turkey I have ever tasted - tender and moist. I really loved the variety of other dishes as well like tart cranberry stuffing, lobster ravioli, and eggplant lasagna. The only problem is we were so stuffed we couldn’t take advantage of what were probably delicious desserts. The cost was pretty high and it would have been really cool for them to package desserts for you so everyone could enjoy a slice of pie later in the day.
And a previous review said there is no handicap access That is not true. I broke my ankle an am in a wheelchair. There is a long, gradual ramp on the left side of the building.
Thank you so much for your review !
I would give Fire at the Ridge the top rating. The service, the staff and the food was over the top. Our entire group was very satisfied with the quality of the food. It was a Thanksgiving dinner and I was tasked to find a place. It feels really good when you select a restaurant and it over performs. Although not inexpensive it was a much better value than many other restaurants offering a Thanksgiving dinner. My biggest complaint was that there was too much good food. Yikes. It is a restaurant after all. We did scout out the restaurant prior to the dinner by going to a Sunday Brunch. If that didn't pass muster then we would have cancelled our reservation. The brunch passed the test with flying colors. You can't go wrong eating at this restaurant.
Delicious Thanksgiving dinner in a beautiful setting.
Thank you JoanneP :)
We were there for Thanksgiving buffet. The physical location is modest--nice enough but not fancy. But the food was gourmet quality, the service was terrific, and the mood was festive and inviting. They do try to get you to take dessert in a different room--downstairs, more of a cafeteria style setting. That's good for keeping the tables turning over on a very busy day, but we brought our dessert back up to the dining room (which they invited as an option). This was my first time having Thanksgiving outside of a home, and I would definitely do it again here.
Onela22, Thank you for your wonderful review.
I really regret going here for Thanksgiving. The buffet food was mass produced, bought in bulk quality. Nothing tasted good enough for a second helping. The Turkey was okay but they were slicing it extremely thin, the stuffing was more like toast. The shrimp were floating in melted ice. The deserts were served in a second room and everyone was outspokenly disappointed that they were even worse than the meal. This was a truly overpriced waste of a dinner. I would have been better off anywhere else.
Cbmp, We are sorry that your experience was not good. We have had nothing but positive reviews, we hope that we get the chance to change your mind.
I thought the set up for the thanksgiving buffet was very well put together, the food was fresh and delicious. They also had a kid section with chicken tenders and French fries, very smart of them to do with how picky the kids are. The staff was very welcoming, friendly, and helpful.. overall I would recommend this place and I would definitely go there again :)
StephanieP, thank you so much for your wonderful review.
We had a great Thanksgiving experience at Fire at the Ridge. The restaurant is beautiful. The view was great even though there was no snow yet. The food was really good. The clam chowder was full of flavor and the prime rib was delicious.
Dessert was served downstairs in the lounge area. This was such a nice surprise. What a relaxinf way to end a great Thanksgiving meal. There was hot chocolate and coffee, mini cheesecakes, apple and pumpkin pie. There were games, couches, a fireplace and a bar. There were outdoor firepits where you could cook melt your marshmallows for s'mores.
My husband and I had a relaxing, peaceful Thanksgiving dinner. I would highly recommend Fire at the Ridge for Thanksgiving.
RebeccaH, Thank you so much for your wonderful review ,we are so happy that you enjoyed your thanksgiving with us.
This was a great spot for a relaxed buffet style Thanksgiving dinner. It was less on ambiance than I had expected, but that was due to my not doing enough research. However, it was spot on for a family of five with two littles under the age of 5 for such a holiday out meal ~ $45 per adult and the kids were free.
The service was very friendly and welcoming. The lodge downstairs where desserts were allowed families to mingle and mix and just play with the large games available. S’mores could be made outside by the fire pit and were loved by the kiddos.
We are so happy you all had a wonderful time All the children certainly enjoyed the fun time after dinner in the lodge.
The main course and service were great. What really took away from it was the coffee and dessert area. Totally inconsistent with the atmosphere and value upstairs during dinner. The entire downstairs area was like that of an experience during skiing season- not $45+ per person. Upon concluding our meal, I was very disappointed. We should’ve had a chocolate mousse or something at least more creative and formal to match the experience upstairs. What we got were pieces of apple pie that had all collapsed and looked like someone picked through them. Coffee was served in to go cups. The pumpkin pie was not appetizing looking and there were tiny desserts that I couldn’t figure out what they were. The sound ricocheted through the large hall, exactly like during skiing season.
I think if this restaurant is going to serve a buffet, they should allow the customers to eat dessert in dining room and extend the hours. Moving us to the lower level was to make room for the newer patrons.
I won’t go next year
The food was good, but what we didn't like you had to leave your table and go down stairs to get your coffee and dessert. The room was cold and the dessert arrangements were poor and took away from the customer experience. We were disappointed.
Hi LB01126, We are happy you enjoyed the thanksgiving buffet . We will take into consideration your other comment which is VERY important to us to help improve customer service.
While dinner was fantastic, the dessert downstairs fell short. It was like I has left and gone to a sub par restaurant instead. The pumpkin pie was inedible due to the copious amounts of nutmeg, and the apple pie filling was crunchy. When I asked one of the workers bringing out pie if there was whipped cream for the pumpkin pie he shook his head no. 10 minutes late a different worker brought out a can. There was one piece of cheesecake and we were informed they ran out. We came for a 12:15 reservation so it wasn't like we were late in the day. Coffee was good but no pie on Thanksgiving is unacceptable. I recommend moving dessert back upstairs and to the same caliber as the buffet.
We enjoyed our Thanksgiving Dinner very much! The spread you put out was amazing and the selection great! So many choices. The staff was terrific and attentive.
We are very Thankful to all the people who made our Thanksgiving dinner special and enjoyable. Your hard work and efforts made our day so relaxed.
We will certainly return to any events that are presented in the future!
Lynne, thank you for your wonderful review. We also do an amazing buffet for Easter, Mothers day and fathers day.
Excellent service with reasonable prices. The food choices were quite abundant for the Thanksgiving holiday. A cautionary note: the restaurant is not handicapped accessible at all. There is a flight of stairs just to get into the restaurant and stairs leading to additional tables.
Thank you for joining us. But just a correction on the stairs. There is a ramp going up to the 2nd floor. Hope to see you all again!
Great food and nice views from the bar seating area. Our dinner party ranged in age from 5 yrs to 86 years - there was something for everyone. Exceptionally friendly service, and we were impressed that the owner stopped by all the dining tables to ensure everything was great and thank us for patronizing the restaurant- highly recommend! Only negative is handicapped access as the dining room is up a significant flight of stairs.
Hi Billdee, thank you for your review we are happy that you and your family had a wonderful time. We have two handicapp ramp access up to the restaurant.
It wasn’t a good one.
This very nice restaurant near the ski slope has a cozy bar and innovative bar-style cuisine that should satisfy most tastes. It can get crowded during the holiday season and it absolutely worth the trip.
The FOTR was a nice experience. Food was very good and the waitress was excellent. It was very comfortable and had a nice meal with friends. Noise was not an issue. We would definitely go again, very good value
