The food and service were excellent as always. Marilla was our server and made sure everything was timed perfectly.
It was very quiet, but a nice find. We would go back again.
We're never disappointed when we go to fish for an intimate date night or celebrating with the kids. My son has a seafood allergy and they cater to all our needs.
Can't beat happy hour $1 oysters, $2 shrimp, awesome sliders - so much flavor in small bites. Love the octopus as usual, but they've found a way to improve on an already great recipe - so tender on the inside and crispy on the outside and that aioli - have to find out what's in it. Must try the purple velvet coctail.
Was very disappointed and up set...made reservations for my 70th birthday because I wanted Lobster and when we got there the waiter said NO Lobster....no steak tips. Also the websites menu was completely different then the one they gas us when we went there.....very deceiving. They should of stated on the website the changes.....
Food was good at Fish. The only issue my fiance and I had was the temperature in the restaurant. It was a bit chilly since the temperature dropped that day and they didn't balance that out.
Not impressed. Service was incredibly slow. I tried the oysters and I’ve never had them so poorly prepared. They were not loosened properly from the shell and then had fragments of shell in each one. Thankfully they were on special and only one dollar each. Server was extremely friendly but painfully slow and not attentive at all. And they were not even crowded. We had a nice dining experience because of the company but probably will not return.
Great food and drinks. Everyone’s meals were very good in fact, one person got the swordfish on the bone and said it was probably the best he’s ever had. Service was great as well!!!
At first I was disappointed because the menu had changed and my favorite Seafood cioppino dish which I would literally dream about, was no longer there. Instead I had the Fra Diavlo Seafood and it was incredible - both sweet and spicy and the seafood perfect. While not quite as good as the Cioppino it was a new dish I will return to.
The wine list also had changed, but I found the new list comparable to the old.
Restaurant was quiet because of COVID but during "normal" times it is usually fairly full.
Went out for a birthday dinner- got oysters & the crab stuffed lobster which was phenomenal. Loved that they even gave you the lobster claws to crack yourself!
Low occupancy due to Covid. They decor was OK. It’s sort of looks like an old Chinese restaurant. The service was great. The food was just OK. The fisherman‘s platter for $24 was not a particularly good value as it only contained two scallops and two shrimp in addition to haddock and clams. At that price I expect a little more seafood and fewer french fries. All in all, not a bad place for dinner, but I think there are better places for a seafood dinner.
Wine selection great, oysters yummy, pricey though.
We had a great server. Our cocktails were delicious and we really enjoyed the $1 oysters! We went at a quiet time and felt there was plenty of special for distancing. We also liked the coziness of the gas fireplace while the big front doors were open.
Great afternoon dining experience!
Unexpectedly nice experience from this unassuming looking restaurant in downtown Marlborough. The food was fast, delicious and too much to finish. Our server was very nice and efficient. That have very tasty and reasonably priced mocktails for the the designated drivers as well.
Was expecting a lot more than what they offered. Menu was very limited. 1/2 of the menu was sandwiches and apparently had run out of lobster which was another 1/4 of their menu. They post all these wonderful pics of beautiful entrees and apps on social media but are clearly misrepresenting themselves since it’s not available. Menu online isn’t updated to what they currently have. Food was ok, service was less than desirable and overall experience was underwhelming. Can’t say that I would go back.
Service was terrific. Food was delicious and the oysters were awesome
Food was good and waitstaff great. Nice atmosphere.
It was warm and the food was good. Very happy with the service
...........................,....,..,,,.,.,,,,,..,.....very good. Small portions..
We always enjoy this restaurant. We were surprised to find new menu and some of our favorites were not there. However, we enjoyed the new selections. The salads are enormous even for sharing.
We would recommend.
always great and dependable. Took friends who had never been there before and they loved it too.
I met an old girlfriend from college and the waiter was incredibly obliging to our desire to catch up on 30
Years of family and friend talk for hours on end!
Josh and Lilly are terrific bartenders and servers. We enjoy sitting either at the bar or at a high top in the bar area. The food is so well prepared and the presentation is terrific.
Fantastic selection of wine. Top notch meals prepared fresh. Great oyster selection. Excellent service
Great food and drinks and nice ambiance with live music. So nice to have a more upscale option in Marlborough!
Delicious fresh fish dishes, and interesting flavor combinations. Looking forward to going back!
Good food good service reasonable prices.
Overall experience was excellent! Service was excellent and the food was superb.
It was a quiet weekday night in the bar to celebrate our milestone wedding anniversary-and Josh made it special with top notch hospitality, service, and drinks backed up by delicious oysters and excellent food. The crawfish special and the octopus app were standouts, and the lazy lobster was the luxury expected. We plan to go back soon.
This was our first time visiting this restaurant and we had a lovely experience. The Swordfish special with the lobster risotto was amazing, cooked very well and had great flavor. And our server was very pleasant and it made for a great experience. We are looking forward to going back.
Great food as usual. Nice place for a special dinner
Chef is awesome.
Oysters were delish!! However I ordered the diver scallops and only had 4 scallops (very small btw) served with a giant piece of bacon on my plate! Disappointed in the plating and amount of food for price but overall service and atmosphere were fantastic!
Great Restaurant!
It was very busy. The food is always very good and the live music is very nice.
We have been here many times over the years and have found it to be a hit or miss proposition. Last night was a miss. We started with the Rhode Island Style Calamari: This was very tasty, but had a lot more chorizo and peppers than it did calamari. In the past Fish gave us a larger portion that had more calamari. The waiter needed to be reminded to bring us bread. The bread is a very good focaccia.
They apparently have a new chef and he is not as flexible as their former chef. My wife wanted to order the fried seafood platter, but have it prepared as baked (except for the clams) rather than fried. She's been ordering it this way for years and they have always accommodated her. Last night the chef sent our waiter out saying he was too busy. She ended up ordering the Seafood Trio (that cost $20 more than the platter). It wasn't that good. The lobster was too fried (supposed to be "tempura lobster") and was a bit tough. Wasn't worth the additional money for sure. The manager did give us a creme brûlée dessert, but that didn't really make up for it.
I had the prosciutto wrapped swordfish - it was ok, but the swordfish was a bit too dry. The waiter didn't come back to check on how our meal was until we had finished eating.
I think we won't be back to Fish. I can eat a Legal Seafood for the same money and have greater consistency.
Went for Valentines Day dinner and they ran out of lobster!! Didn’t tell us while they went over the specials or when we ordered apps- only mentioned when it was time to order and that’s what we wanted!
Food was delicious. Sat at the bar. Service was poor needed to ask for everything. Menu, drinks, ask to take our food order, ask what they had for dessert. 3 people waiting a bar that sat about 12 people. Shouldn’t be that complicated but the food over weighted the poor service so we’ll go back
Valentine's Day Dinner.
We both had Shrimp Cocktail and Seafood Trio.
The shrimp cocktail was delicious, cooked properly and served cold in bowl of ice, with cocktail sauce and a dollop of horseradish. The shrimp were good sized and tasty, I could have used 20% more cocktail sauce while I admit that I like more sauce than most people. At $16.50 I felt that while very good, it was pricey.
The Seafood Trio was Lobster Tempura, two crab stuffed baked shrimp and pan seared scallops. In a complimentary white sauce. The Lobster Tempura was plentiful and cooked perfectly, taste was great yet a touch salty on the batter. Still top tier by restaurant standards. The scallops were cooked perfectly also, and were the best blend with the provided sauce. No complaints, the crab stuffed shrimp was very good also. $48 each
We ended with a very nicely executed creme brulee. $10? The ambiance was great, the pace was appropriate, we arrived 20 minutes early for our reservation and they seated us immediately. Service was quite good, support staff was attentive.
While the food was definitely top tier and excellent, it fell slightly short of the perfection of an elite world class chef.
This is not to say that we didn't fully enjoy the food and elite experiences are reserved for a handful of events.
The waiter was nice but forgot things and wasn’t fully knowledgeable. At one point we were told there was no more lobster and then that there was enough for one more trio dish so we got that. The amount of lobster and food for that $48 was not even close to sufficient. Then we were told that 3 pound lobsters would be available in a while. Two fisherman platters were ordered and brought out with no clams. The woman who helped bring them out said she’d get them but then returned to say they had run out. That was the cherry on top at this point because you NEED to at least inform the patron this so they can decide if they want something else. We were comped two desserts for this but it should have been more. We ordered two bottles of wine at $42 and $48 so one of those would have made more sense. To be honest, overall with all the issues, a bottle AND desserts would have made the most sense for compensation.
The appetizers were great but our meals just weren’t impressive. I got the seafood trio, it was all fried and it really didn’t taste good. I immediately regretted not just sticking with a good ol lobster. The atmosphere however was really nice.
