Fujiyama Steak House of Japan
My absolute favorite restaurant in Indy. I’ve tried many hibachi restaurants and this hands down the best.
The service was wonderful! We had the best waiter and chef! Food was delicious!
Fun place to go to, whether celebrating a special occasion, or wanting to go someplace different. All staff we encountered were extremely friendly, chef was entertaining! Good time had by all in our party, and would go again!
My family loves Fujiyamas! Always great food and entertainment. Staff is always awesome. Very clean. Everything you could want in a dining experience.
The waitress I had was terrible I ordered one thing and she brought me something else she seems to have a attitude and tried to tell me it was the same thing and told me to just pick the meat off and just not to eat the rice I was very upset for me to spend $200 I should have gotten great service when I clearly have been eating it for years I know the difference also I had a egg shell in my rice I was upset about that other then that I can’t complain but will not be returning to this location
Cook we had didn't season the food hardly at all. The shrimp was overcooked and bland, the fried rice was bland, only thing I liked was the chicken, which I didn't even get a full breast. I actually left there hungry. For the price, not worth it at all. We won't be back.
Great lunch with grandchildren
Wonderful fresh food. Great menu with many choices.
It was nice....wish we could have eaten only with our family
Wait time until our chef started cooking was too long. Desert took long to arrive. Saw the waitress serving the salad with bare hands (hygiene issue)
Otherwise the food the good and the staff nice
Little loud, cook was just about cooking the food & leaving & not so much trying to entertain and waitress was busy but food was great
Food was perfect!
Went for lunch for Father’s day and to celebrate a birthday. A great experience all around.
Great service - dinner and a show! Love the interaction with the chef and his table!
Our chef was great. Probably the best we have had there. Service was quick and everyone was friendly.
Our chef was amazing and funny, really enjoyed our dinner experience.
The food was great and our cook gave a great show. The only downside is that it is quite noisy, but expected with the cooking shows going on at each table.
Our chef was great, entertaining and engaging, and knowledgeable about the food he was cooking. Our only issue is that we learned that tips are split 50/50 between the waitstaff and the cook. That seems so unfair considering the waitress only brought us water and the bill, and the chef cooked outlet entire meal and entertained us the whole time. That’s not very fair in our opinion.
It was all A plus except for the noise level. It was very loud! Food was great!
Love this place. All time favorite!! Great chef and waitress. Food is always excellent!
The food was really bland. I had to wait for my appetizer until the chief had already started cooking our food. I had the Pork belly app. It was also pretty bland.
I haven't been there for over 20 years and most likely won't go back for anther 20 years, It was way to pricey for the quality of food we we served.
The place was not crowded but smoke were everywhere from the habachi cooking. They need to get those vents replaced or cleaned. I came out of there smelling like the food I had ordered.
The food was okay (not as good as previous). I’m not sure if the chef forgot he was supposed to sprinkle some salt to taste or what but the food I had (steak and shrimp) did not have that taste to it (just like the Japanese habachi standards). But it was okay though because there were that dipping sauce... I guess.
Overall service is good. I would still go there. Maybe different chef has different style and taste.
P.S. You might want to check the soup and salad. Soup used to be good. For some reason during our dining, the soup tasted like just plain ol hot water with some mushroom and a little bit of taste. The salad sauce was kind of sour on a high side. Otherwise, it was still okay. I didn’t finish it. Only had maybe 4 bites.
This has been our go to place but the last few trips there is no entertainment. The chef shows up and basically cooks. In the past they would entertain you doing various acts.
Please dont use open table for scheduling my reservation was for 430 and we were seated at 6pm.
It was mother’s day and they were super packed. We had to wait 45 min past our reservation, which I thought was super short compared to other places on a holiday. Our server was very attentive and excellent on communicating where everything was, and what he was doing.
The food was fantastic! There was someone at our table complaining loudly about not being able to use a coupon on a holiday, but that’s completely understandable on the restaurant’s part. Holidays are always exempt from coupon usage. The restaurant went above and beyond to celebrate the holiday but gifting $10 voucher to all moms at every table. I thought that was superb! I’ve never been celebrated like that before!
10/10 would recommend! I was happy to wait for delicious food, attentive servers, and a bonus treat to celebrate the day. Hope there weren’t too many people who put a bad review just because they were busy on one of the most celebrated days in the restaurant business!
Over priced for amount of food served. Entertainment was great but waiting for seated was longer then expecting (we had reservations). And wait on service was lengthy.
Sat down an hour late.
We love to go to Fujiyama for special occasions. The service is great. The food is quite tasty. The entertainment by the chefs is the highlight of any visit. We had an especially fun entertaining chef last Sunday.
We had a reservation for 12:30 and all were there, but we didn't get seated until 12:50. Our cook was fairly disinterested in us and his "show" was lacking from what we expected. Seven of the 10 ordered steak and all complained it was over cooked. Med-Rare should have pink in the center, all were completely gray. I understand the 18% gratuity pre-added with a big party, but if I would have had the chance to decide on my on gratuity, it would have been much less. This was my mom's first trip to Fujiyama and my guess is it will be her last.
My family loves going! It’s actually my moms favorite place. The food is always amazing. Love the Cooks. It’s a little pricey, but we always enjoy going there for an event.
Our favorite family birthday restaurant!
In my opinion the protein should be cooked last & not the rice. Still a good experience and food
We love Jujiyama Steak House and have been coming here for about 40 years. The chef this time was extraordinarily good with the 4 and 6 year old grandsons and we all laughed a lot and really enjoyed the food.
Service was great. Not crazy busy and food and food display was amazing.
Husband and I enjoyed everything about the place. We were there on a date night from Clarksville, IN. Definitely would make a trip back.
Always a great time at Fujiyama! Delicious food and fun atmosphere.
It was a great place to seat our party of 9! We had great service, from the server who took our drink orders to our chef who prepared our meal. However, it was noisy and we had to repeat our drink orders a few times. One of the elderly ladies in our group did not appreciate the noise and was not happy they did not serve coffee. The younger people in the group all loved it, and were quite pleased with the food and the overall experience.
Great experience as always. The staff are friendly and courteous.
Love this place ! Have been a happy customer for years !
We've lived in Beech Grove for almost five years and have never gone to Fujiyama's! Sorry to say we have wasted a lot of time and money going to other places. What an amazing place to celebrate events in your life. The chefs make it lively and fun. The food is outstanding. And you definitely get enough to eat. Thank you for helping us celebrate our son's 30th birthday! He loves eating here. And has known about the great food for years.
