Choose from a weekly changing menu of brilliant steak cuts and a selection of our favourite free flowing wine.
We came for the bottomless beef and bottle offer and we were not disappointed! The waiter was very friendly and attentive and ensured we were always topped up (with steak and the wine!) - would definitely return!
Dinner with our son the night before lockdown 2.0 we had a fantastic dinner and pre-drinks. The service was the notable standout for us with a great waiter who turned a kitchen nightmare around into a positive. Food (sausage sharing plate and ribeye) was very good and constant with previous memories. Cocktails were well made and hand crafted. The decor was cool, fun and certainly supporting a great meal experience. Two recommendations; guide the doorman to be more open, welcoming and friendly, (you don't get a 2nd chance to make a 1st impression!) and replace the sachets of salt and pepper with a proper grinder or loose and with quality ingredients.
Celebrated our son's 18th Birthday just before the 2nd major lockdown came into force. As always the food was outstanding and cooked to perfection. We had a friendly Turkish waiter called D. It was busy but relatively quiet which was understandable given current events. I love the food but do find it to be overpriced. The water and the tip were over £45! For a special occasion it was worth it. If the prices lowered we would be there all the time!
Very disappointed with the service, the food. It was really busy and the staff looked as if it was the first time it had been like this, I highly doubt it as it was located in Piccadilly. When the food arrived it was a piece of meat slapped in the middle of our plate. There was wow factor about. It was a meal I could have cooked at home. Definitely an over priced restaurant type of vibe. I informed the restaurant that it was my brothers birthday. Nothing special was done for this. I had also informed them I would arrive 15 mins late and asked if half of my party could be sat whilst I arrived and was told that would be fine to then make half of my party wait on the bar until I arrived. It was very inconvenient as they could have ordered whilst we arrived. Definitely would never return to Gauchos again.
Friendly staff!Rafa attended to us and he was very attentive! Great food! Great ambience!
Fantastic food and service. Cannot our meal at all.
Fantastic experience all round
As always, lovely food. Chateaubriand was fantastic. The Covid measures in place really made us feed safe and comfortable, too. Only minor disappointment was one of the wait staff that was a bit impatient--definitely an aberration to the normal stellar service.
As we’re about to go into lockdown my friend and I decided we’d spoil ourselves and we thought a nice lunch but somewhere we could sit outside, so decided as the best place for a steak is gauchos Piccadilly was handy for both of us . We would normally go to Sloane Avenue but not appropriate for sitting outside . We started with a Bloody Mary for my friend , could have been spicier and I had a glass of champagne .
We then had the sausage platter for two - we always have this - very good as always followed by fillet steak I had 225 g fillet steak , I’m not the biggest of eaters and my friend had the 300 g we asked for medium rare and whilst his was a little under cooked mine was a little over cooked , obviously both cooked for precisely the same time on saying that not enough of a problem to complain if mine was cooked anymore then I would have had something to say. Our sides were buttered lettuce and chips again our usual order , we accompanied this with our usual bottle of blended red wine Numina Gran Corte a really delicious wine that certainly goes well with a steak .
We followed up with Don Pedro a vanilla ice cream with rum and walnuts very tasty but could have done with more rum and lemon meringue pie which was delicious .
Overall we had a lovely meal and although very busy the service was efficient and the staff were very accommodating, the only down fall was the young lady on the next table who’s language was rather strong and also as time went on got louder , we all know the effects of that glass of wine too many . We will be back when we’re allowed to hopefully in time for a Christmas treat , in the meantime I hope you all stay safe and we look forward to our return.
Great Place to Eat for meat lovers and an easy favourite.
One of the worst experiences we've had since we've been in London. We've dined at Gaucho many times and never expected the shoddy service we experienced; the food took ages to come and we kept seeing tables that came after us being served while we only got excuses.
To top things off, for the first time on 20+ occasions we've dined at Gaucho they refused to accept the OpenTable dining cheque, rudely claiming that they no longer recognize them.
Last time we visit this place.
Door staff very rude on arrival and departure. Service well below par. Food excellent.
The food was excellent but the service was slow at times. The staff were lovely, though, and went out of their way to make my friend's birthday special. Thank you!
Great food, Can highly recommend the vina Patricia red, and great atmosphere. Loved the Halloween decorations aswell!
Service was poor - first person to arrive was seated and then left without even a menu to look at for 10 mins. The drinks took ages, and the menu had been reduced. Meat quality has gone downhill, salad dressing was very tart.
We were booked in for a special anniversary meal. We arrived about 15 mins early, and after about 20 minutes of being told to hover in a busy area were put into what was essentially a holding pen, where somebody started to take a drinks order but never returned. After almost an hour we were seated. The food was ok - a great steak as always, but very underwhelming. Whilst ordering we were informed that we wouldn’t have time for starters as the restaurant was closing at 10 for Covid reasons (obviously don’t have a problem with closing for legal reasons and the pandemic comes first). We were annoyed as had we been seated on time we wouldn’t have missed out.
The lights came on at 21:15 and the bill was put in front of me shortly after... whilst i was still eating my steak.
We’ve visited before and enjoyed a lovely relaxing meal but the restaurant was heaving, with very loud music, and zero thought to social distancing or enforcing of wearing masks as a covid-19 precaution. People were walking all over the place without masks, including staff... particularly when going to toilets and large groups were allowed to congregate in the stair well.
We noticed that most of the tables near us had groups of 4+ adults... all of whom were clearly couples from different households, which as we all know was against London rules on 30-10-2020.
The whole experience was very underwhelming, and when you consider that 2 main meals and 2 drinks, with three shared sides came to just shy of £130, we felt like the whole evening was a waste of time.
Will not be visiting again in a hurry... particularly when the restaurant do not care about customer service or covid-19 precautions. We should have argued that we wouldn’t pay the service charge but just wanted to get out by that point.
We had a lovely meal but i wouldn't necessarily rush back. It was nice but not outstanding and i would suggest was rather expensive for what was served.
The table next to us were rather loud so we struggled to have a decent conversation. Also the waitress was somewhat pushy for us to order more wine/drinks/dessert. Maybe that is how they are trained but i didn't appreciate the undue pressure when trying to enjoy a meal.
Sensational steak! Went for the 500g Rib Eye, beautifully cooked with truffle butter. Service was excellent and I’d definitely go again.
Tall blonde woman was amazing. Very attentive and looked after us.
Great service and really tasty food. Will definitely be back again.
My second visit and it surpassed the first one .
Great night out
Excellent lunch. Service from Enrico was superb. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and his recommendations were spot on.
Good value set menu and very tasty steak. The sea bass ceviche was delicious
Started took over an hour as we where forgotten about which was given to us at no cost at the end but a quick lunch turned into a 2 and half hour wait and quick rush to eat
I eat at gauchos regularly so I have a particular way my meat is cooked but this is thr first time I’ve been disappointed as I could’ve finish my steak which ended up being a waste of money sadly
But never the less it’s my only place for steak so I’ll stick to towerbridge or Richmond
Great food and venue, steak was cooked perfectly and the quality of the steak was awesome.
Lovely evening out. Good fun and a nice, enjoyable environment.
Food was amazing! Service was rushed (due to COVID, not the restaurant) and had to sit outside but overall a great place to eat and I would happily revisit
Brilliant place to be. Food and service was great
Wonderful and friendly service from Sophia...genuinely made us feel welcome and even when we had to vacate the table due to Covid time restrictions she did so in an elegant manner ..!!
Chateaubriand for two was exceptional
Had the evening standard lunch which was excellent as was service.
Excellent food with perfect service could not ask for more
I have contacted the customer service head office to write a formal complaint about my dining experience here never in my life have I been spoken to the way their managers sports to me and embarrassed me and my partner in front of the whole restaurant as I burst into tears horrendous treatment horrible rude managers who clearly have no respect for their customers or hospitality skills.
Everything was spot on... however found the security a bit rude.
Been here a few times and never been disappointed
Raffa p was our waiter all night. He was absolutely outstanding and made our anniversary meal so special. He made a big difference to our night out and we can’t wait to visit again
Booked w table for 8:15 when arrived I was told the table will be ready in 10 mins it was 9 o clock before I was seated we then ordered our food and it got to half 9 and the waiters kept coming over to say our food would be ready soon it got to 9:45 and I told the waiter there was no point in the food as we had to leave at 10 it came a minute after which we then had to eat it really fast so we couldn’t enjoy it as much there excuse was that we had the steak well done but it misses the fact that we had a table booked for 8:15 and didn’t get seated for 45 mins but if I was over 15 minutes late my table would be cancelled on other words the steak was the best yourll ever have just very poor organisation
Good service, amazing steaks. Bit loud but worth it for the food.
Even in these odd times and with and early evening booking the restaurant atmosphere was great, and the food delivered to the standard expected from its reputation.
The only mark against it would be the overall quality of the décor and tables, and bathroom's. Which seem more orientated to a bar/club than a restaurant where you are spending £100 plus per person. (Scratched tables, marked floor, small sparsely designed toilets etc) It does take away from the wow factor that you get from similarly tiered venues.
