Great food and service
I had the Jambalaya and it was really good. Nice Mai Tai as well.
The service and food were great. It was a little noisy inside which made it difficult to hear and talk
I enjoyed the overall experience at Georgia Browns. I will definitely be revisiting soon.
I had two friends here from the Netherlands one of whom is a professional chef and wanted to take them to somewhere special. Georgia Brown’s did not let me down. Our server did a wonderful job explaining low country cuisine. The meal was superb in all regards.
This was our third time coming from Richmond,VA and the worst time! We ended up sitting at the bar because our table was not ready, you all was still setting up! At the bar the guy could not remember our order, he came back several times asking about our order, he was trying to do too much! Then we get our food the Chicken taste like it was fried in old grease! The collard greens and dirty rice was ok. The crab cakes had no taste the Mac and cheese tasted old! We got catfish as a appetizer that was ok. We do not plan to come back! A real disappointment!
Our server was amazing, attentive and made us feel welcome as always. The selection and quality of food is always a treat. The omelette station and chocolate fountain are a must every time! The beautiful music from the jazz band is the perfect accompaniment to a wonderful meal. Georgia Brown's is and will always be a go-to for any occasion.
This was second visit to Georgia Brown’s. First visit was about 4 years ago and it was outstanding. At that time you could order brunch entries off a menu and everything we ordered was special. Back in DC we returned to experience once again. We were very disappointed to find a buffet supplemented with a menu offering several lunchentres you could choose from and take home as you wished. This would have been fine if had a home to bring to but being tourists we weren’t going back to hotel after brunch and had no means of keeping this food. The buffet items were fresh and tasty however they were not close to the caliber of the brunch items we had several years ago. Service was great. The trio performing during the brunch was very talented however the music was so loud, we couldn’t talk without shouting and we couldn’t hear the server at all. Overall, a buffet with an entre for $45 brunch ( drinks not included) might work for others- the restaurant was full of people- however not an enjoyable experience for us.
My favorite place, it’s our go to. They were even able to take us a little early
Delicious food, and service! I got The ribs, Mac and cheese and coke slaw, and it was the best Mac and the best ribs I’ve ever had. The sauce was not too sweet, and had a wonderful flavor, and fell apart. The Mac and cheese was hot and fresh, rare when you order that at a Restaraunte. My husband devoured his jambalaya. I loved That you could watch the kitchen, and the peach cobbler was as amazing as it sounded. Perfect size to share!
Great atmosphere, great service, great food! I highly recommend this restaurant.
Our server was warm but not very attentive and forgot to place a salad order; otherwise, the atmosphere was great and food good.
The food was delicious but a bit cold. It appeared it had been sitting a bit before it was served.
Gave GB a second chance after a couple of not so good experiences. They have obviously made some much needed and much appreciated changes. I've been twice in the past three weeks, and was pleasantly surprised with the experience. Happen to get the same waitress (can't recall her name). She is awesome. I will be returning soon. And the manager is awesome. Love her.
I would only recommend Georgia Brown for the music, not for the food.
The brunch was okay. Met with friends and when the jazz band was playing we could not hear each other. The food in the take home entree (I got fried chicken, turnip greens and mashed potatoes) was significantly more tasty than the buffet items (not including the steam table and omelet stations).
Yes, I will go again but will order from the menu.
Great experience. I hadn't attended in a while...however, it was lovely, I totally enjoyed.
Sunday brunch was really nice. A variety on the buffet to choose from was more than sufficient. The jazz band added a flair and was nice too.
Took my girlfriend to brunch as a part of her birthday weekend. The food was excellent. The place was jumping with live music which she loved. I enjoyed the pricing because you get a lot of food. You can chose an entree to go all for $45 dollars. Just couldn’t beat the price of that. Server was very pleasant and chill about everything. Assisted us through everything that was going on the menu. I will definitely go back and put people on for this spot.
An incredible Sunday jazz brunch. Music was great, food was even better! So many options for the buffet AND an entree to go...can't beat it!
Delicious food! Definitely going back to try more of the menu items.
First time at Georgia Brown's. The food was amazing. The BBQ bacon-wrapped dates as an app and the crab-stuffed shrimp for my entree will bring me back time and again.
A truly great meal with legendary service. Everyone was kind and funny which really set the mood for a relaxing delicious meal.
Great food, friendly service in pleasant surroundings. I had a lovely meal with no hassles and a great evening.
The service was great food was good caught the only thing that would make it perfect is better parking
Wonderful food and a great atmosphere to relax in the middle of a hectic workday. Even though it was just a quick lunch meeting, I felt very calm and ready to take on the rest of my day afterwards. Would highly recommend.
The fried chicken is to die for!
Food didn’t taste fresh
We took a gamble going because reviews were mixed. We really had a taste for soul food. As stated in reviews, service was a bit slow but our waitress was super nice and pleasant. The Motown music playing fostered a lively atmosphere. The food was good, not great but solid. Out of the dishes we ordered the gumbo was best.
The wait time was 25 min even after having an appointment. The food did not have enough lighting shining on it & no dish cards to identify the foods that were being served. The accommodation of the facility was so overcrowded ( no waiting area) I sat next to the opening pathway toward the rest rooms. Bathroom floors were soaked on the ladies room. Sorry for do many comments but hopefully they will be helpful for future changes to make the business become better
I make it my business to go to Georgia Brown everytime I'm in DC
Awesome Hass Burch the menu was outstanding!
My son took me to Georgia Brown’s for my birthday. The waiter saw a happy birthday balloon on the table and asked if it was my birthday and I said yes, and then he asked for my name. A band member called my name and wished me a happy birthday. The food and service were outstanding as always.
Delicious food, great service, and aesthetically pleasing! Jazz brunch is a delight!
We enjoyed our meals. Nothing to really brag about. The seating was TIGHT small table for three and we had to squeeze together to make room for the staff to keep passing us. All the tables were close and everyone seemed crammed together. Get a table in the center of the room if possible. This is more of a lunch place for me. I’ve been there for lunch and dinner. I am recommending you try because we did enjoy the food and the portions for the money. The corn bread was more of a corn cake it’s very sweet.
The waitress was MIA while we waited 45min for our food. Other parties that came after were served before us. My cousin witnessed one of the cooks using the men’s room (#2) and leaving without washing his hands.
Poor service, had to return plate because fried chicken was lukewarm. Waited 10 mins for a re-fill for a coke.
We were told that there is a new Chef. And that the bread was taken off menu, but they brought back the cornbread. The cornbread was not tasty at all. It was very dry and it had red pepper which made it spicy. The menu choices seems to be a little different. The Beyond Meatloaf tasted like liver. I am a vegetarian and I eat Beyond Meat all the time. The texture was not that of a meatloaf.
Very disappointed! The fried green tomatoes and fried catfish were tough, hard to cut with a knife! Too long in a warmer, grits were cold as was cornbread. White wine was room temperature, poured into a very dirty glass! They replaced it quickly. Was expecting southern charm, found none, won’t be back.
Not as good as I remembered. Half empty restaurant lacking the buzz it used to have. Looks old and tired. Quite pricey but not an upmarket experience
