Our server was great! He was attentive when needed, pleasant.
Amazing. We got seated right away and the mimosas came out right on time.
The appetizer sampler platter could have had more variety (almost everything was deep fried ), but the cocktails and entrees were great!
This was our first time at Georgia Brown’s. If you want to be treated like royalty this is the place. The food and service was superior then 90% of the restaurants I have been to in DC.
The waiters were attentive, provided great suggestions and I never felt like I had to ask my waiter to be refilled before someone was busy reaching for my glass.
The food, was prepared perfectly, flavorful and generous servings.
The only negative I could say is the bathrooms need to be updated and doors repaired and the restaurant had a moldy, wet mop smell.
The food is great -- and bountiful, so don't overorder. Service was equally good -- friendly, prompt and efficient. The room is a little noisy and gee ... has it really been there that long? Great spot for something a bit different.
Great experience, yummy cuisine.....thank you. I recommend to all my friends and family
good service. Everything on the appetizer tray ($50) appeared to, and tasted as if, it had been prepared many hours earlier, if that day.
They changed their peach cobbler recipe. Dinner was good, but dessert was disappointing.
Great waitstaff. Water glass always full. Server made great recommendations
Authentic southern cuisine in a lovely setting with free live jazz (on Wednesday evening). Returned the next day for happy hour. Was not disappointed. I’ll make Georgia Brown’s my go-to place when visiting DC.
Really great food for a really good price. I frequently visit this location for the quality of food.
The Sunday Jazz Brunch is amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed it!
The brunch buffet offerings are plentiful and everything I tried was delicious. The service is outstanding. The jazz band was very good too. The restaurant itself could use some updates as it looks dated and kind of worn. Overall, I don’t think you can find a better brunch value than Georgia Brown’s with everything they include in the buffet plus the menu entree item to take home. I will be back!
We were seated quickly for our reservations. The waiter was polite but did not check to see if we needed drink refills. The bacon was salty, needed a couple more salad dressings, deviled eggs needs a little sugar added to it, the banana pudding tasted bland. Omelette, shrimp, grits and fruit was excellent. I love Georgia House with the live Jazz and will be back again
Our reservation was at 1:30, we didn’t get seated for over an hour later. People that were in line behind us were getting seated, because they were a party of 2 and we had 3 in our party. A table of 4 was cleaned but we were told we couldn’t have that table because we needed a fourth person. Please stop allowing people to stay seated hours after they have stopped eating and drinking!!!!
Upon being seated our waiter did greet us. He offered peach tea as our drinks, but that was not what i received. My guest that i invited said that all she tasted was peach, but no tea. We never received any silverware. We went to get food and came back , there was no silverware. I spoke to our waiter and he only brought back two for a seating of 4. You'll have the best grits and waffles. Some of the food was cold. The french toast was hard and the message that i left during reserving my table online, was never delivered. Your dessert table should have more options. Its set up for a kid. The brisket was delicious
Georgia brown was very mediocre to say the least. The food was not that good. The drink I had was good. The service was good. But the food was wayyyyy over rated. And the carpet smelled horrible but otherwise the ambiance was just fine. But I will not be returning.
I was in DC for a meeting, and decided to find some really good southern cooking. Look no further than Georgia Brown's. A wonderful sophisticated treatment of southern table best: shrimp and grits absolutely first rate; friend green tomatoes to make you jump up and slap yo mama; turnip greens cooked perfectly. So many wonderful choices. Classy décor and a well-turned out and happy crowd. You won't leave hungry or unhappy!
I hadn't dined here in 20 years. I was hoping that it was as good as I remembered. It wasn't. The food was bland and the decor was a bit worn. On the plus side, the server was upbeat, cheerful and funny.
Excellent food and hardworking servers! A little noisy but the food is worth it.
Live music was a very nice touch Georgia Browns never disappoints.
we will be back for sure, great food and atmosphere.
My food was delivered lukewarm, so I had to send it back to the kitchen. Not a good way to start the meal. My dining companions had no complaints about their orders: cleaned their plates. We were lingering so long that the valet parking attendant brought my keys to me before he departed for the night. Nice touch! Overall, it was a good evening.
Ms. Angel went out of her way to accommodate my severe shellfish allergy so I was able to have their excellent fried chicken. My friend had the gumbo and liked it too.
Fantastic excellent service. Delicious food would go back
Wonderful jazz brunch! Great music. Friendly service and amazing food.
All I can say, it was great!
The food was delicious, the ambiance was the best! I would definitely go to spot again and again
It was sooo nice and the live band was awesome!!! Great valet parking. I’m so glad they have that. The take home food was really really good too. I would cone here again and again and again. I’ve been to Georgia Browns at least 20-30 times in my lifetime!!! Just love it!!!
Mother in-laws Birthday
The ambiance was beautiful. Our waiter Jose was very nice, personable, and attentive. The food was delicious. We really enjoyed the experience.
Table was your typical bench seating where they try to herd the masses. The cushions had seen better days and tended to sink to low for a comfortable sitting. ( I do not like a restaurant that treats 2 person table as lower class. Sit me at a regular table.)
The crab soup was basic. Tasted like flour butter. Which is used to thicken and just wasn’t very good.
I got the lamb one was really good the second was ok and third was terrible tasted old.
The creamed spinach was terrible didn’t eat. My date had the fish and did not finish it. So overall it wasn’t terrible but for $140 was hoping for better.
Valet was fairly cheap, I think 8$
I like the place. I just think it needs a refresh.
I have been coming to Georgia Browns for the longest and it’s definitely gone down as far as food and service...very unfortunate.
November 2 was my first time ever going to Georgia Brown’s. Based on my research, I knew it would be exactly how I thought it would. The food and service was very good.
We came on Saturday, Nov 2 to celebrate our anniversary! Our waiter’s name was Merle and he was nothing short of amazing!! The entire experience was awesome!! Will definitely be returning!!
This is a great place to meet friends and have lunch. Good menu. Nice selection of different types of food with that southern flair. Just what we were looking for. Close enough to the Smithsonian for a good walk on a nice day. Close to Metor stops as well.
Low country meets even lower quality. This place has seen better days. Do not waste your time on this poor quality fare. Nasty shrimp and grits with overly spiced sausage and inedible all fat pork chop.
Very good food with great service
AhhhMAZING! I’m from the South and you cannot beat this food. The buttermilk fried chicken & pork chop are to die for!
