Under staffed on Valentine’s Day? Really? Terrible service. Left after 30 mins sitting at our table without a word. No menu’s, drink order, or anything. Once a great restaurant, I won’t be going back.
Went on Valentine’s Day so it was very busy. Food was very good, generous portions and very tasty. Service was very bad. Over 45 minutes until we had drinks and over two hours before our main course arrived.
Food was not what it used to be.
Valentine’s Day and family get together in one. Great salads. Lovely muscles. Fresh seafood. Everyone loved their dishes. Too busy for normal wait staff as was special occasion and the place was full. One salad was forgotten. Fortunately the portions are generous and that dish was not needed. Deserts were worth the calories!
They were really busy for Valentine’s Day and jacked up the prices. The server was nice and food was ok but took a long time because they were understaffed.
Good meal but the place was understaffed. Hire another server!
The waiter was very friendly, and the ambience was nice, but at the end of the day, the food was not fantastic and not worth what I paid.
spaghetti was undercooked, steak and lamb were very tough. very tough. otherwise pleasant experience.
Food portions are small, steak was tough and thin, dessert was a tart.
Me and my friends saw this restaurant on Dine Out Vancouver Fest, and it reminded us of how much we enjoyed it during our previous visits. But we didn’t realize that the owners and menu had changed since we were last there so we were baffled by the end of our meal. Our first clue should’ve been the fact that the previously packed dining room only had two other tables and the bar area was empty.
We were seated at our table promptly. The servers were nice and took our orders quickly but the food was most disappointing. The salad seemed like something from a plastic bag from your local supermarket, the steak was not flavoured and the dessert also tasted like it was purchased from the same supermarket.
This new Gramercy Grill is good value if you’re not a super foodie and not interested in the taste of the food. You get what you pay for.
Salad appetizer good; french fries so-so.
Main course: Striploin ok; Salmon/steelhead excellent
Dessert: Pecan pie, Lemon pie good
We were seated immediately for our 6 p.m. reservation. The restaurant was full. Warm ambience, restful lighting, tastefully decorated. Service oscillated between rushed/attentive and slow-ish due to full-house and only two full-time servers, but no real problems.
“Dine Out” should be a opportunity for restaurants to showcase their restaurant & food, too bad the entree was only mediocre, but I have always loved the ambience of the restaurant which is what keeps me coming back occasionally.
Excellent service and food
Everything was perfect tonight !
The food & Service was amazing !
I haven't been to Gramercy Grill so was delighted to be reminded what a fine restaurant it is. Of particular note, it was so quiet at our lunch that it was almost as if we were dining in a private room. Patrick, our waiter, did an excellent job and the food was, as usual, excellent. The room itself is very pleasant and as we got a sunny day, the enormous amount of window space filled the room with light. Highly recommended.
Staff friendly and committed to you having a good time
Everything was good except my meal. I had the spicy seafood spaghetti. It was like noodles in bouillabaisse. No sauce at all. Had a nice flavour but I wanted a sauce, not a soup. Other than that, very good service and ambiance.
Had a lovely meal with friends and it worked out beautiful Ly!
Based on this visit, I would not recommend Gramercy. The duck and steak were undercooked. The salad was overpriced. My $38 dollar meal left me, a small eater, hungry.
It was a busy Saturday night and the staff did their best in maintaining service and order. Really good value meal.
Roast beef on Sunday night was excellent. Waiter knowledge about wine
A wonderful waiter and poached eggs cooked to perfection. All the food was excellent!
It is good to have a restaurant like Gramercy Grill in the neighborhood
First time I’d been in years
Waiter was great.
Same mussels and fries
Really big menu
The food was mediocre at best, the service was fast but very scattered. Would not recommend
Been awhile since I was there and the food has completely changed and is not good! Used to have a unique menu and fresh made delicious food, now the quality and creativity is not there and the food was not fresh or even cooked properly. Was a great neighbourhood place, location is awesome but for food I would not recommend anymore unfortunately.
Great service and great value
We were there over a year ago and the soup was just warm and the steak was gristly but decided to try again since someone recommended the pasta was good. A couple of friends had the steak and lamb shank and said it was good and the rest of us had appetizers and pasta that was also good.
Happy to say we would come back again.
Great food, consistent month to month, great service
Always a staple for my go to pasta venue. Consistent and great neighbourhood.
Amazing food, girlfriend and i really enjoyed our pasta dishes which were essentially 2 for 1
We enjoyed the breeze on the outdoor patio. There was option of sitting in sun or shade which was perfect for our opposite tastes. The food was excellent value, and the servers were very amicable. Main course took a little long, but it suited our leisurely mood. Our new favourite neighbourhood spot!
The food was very good and the husband/wife owners were friendly and efficient. My only complaint is all the stuff stored in the bar area; a messy first impression. But the food was really good.
Been there years ago and the food was so much better then.
The service was satisfactory but the food was not so good. The potato on my dish were soggy and the beans were way too old and tough to be eaten. My sister asked for sauce to be on the side for her lamb dish but it was not done. My 101 year old mother asked us not to take her back to this restaurant because in her word, "the food is no good".
Currently their menu offers a 2-for-$24 on a combination of any two pasta, noodle or risotto dishes. The food is good & the portions are generous. A good deal for this neighbourhood resto.
I was disappointed. The wine was good value, and the appetizer + mussels were decent. My main, the duck breast, seemed like it had been reheated, and the pineapple for the sauce seemed like it came out of a can.
We dined with friends for a chance to catch up and enjoy a meal together. The service was prompt, courteous and non intrusive. The food arrived quickly and great temperature. The flavours were delicious.
Food was exactly what we wanted but the night was made when the server spotted we had leftover gravy and brought us extra Yorkshire puddings for our prime rib!
Disappointing all around.
