Grand Cafe-Grand Geneva Resort
Every restaurant at this resort is fabulous. The Cafe Grand is a great place for delicious breakfasts and the amazing buffet!
Everything was great!
Had a great dinner and our server Lisa was great. She was informative, quick to get what we needed and very nice. Enjoyed our Valentine's dinner.
we brought our little ones, a bit too fancy for them.
Our Dinner and Breakfast waitress, Donna, was EXCEPTIONAL!!
The food overall was very good, however the dessert table was a big disappointment. The service was fair. A couple of large tables were seated nearby which took much of our waitresses attention, leaving us waiting for drink refills and our check. Still, overall we enjoyed the meal and the Grand Geneva was beautifully decorated.
I was once again most fortunate to have Lisa as my server. She is most knowledgeable and very good at her job. She recommended that I check out the various Christmas decorations in the hotel and conference rooms and she was quite right. Stunning!!
Justin was a great server. Couldnt have asked for a better experience
The staff was great!!! They made our experience very special!!!!
I am most impressed with the Grand Cafe dining experience and in particular Lisa. She is simply outstanding! The restaurant was packed as was the lobby. Some kind of big convention. Lisa kept her cool and handled herself well. I will definitely be back.
Crumbs on table. Cleaned myself. Buffet which comes with rolls. Had to ask for those. Had to ask them to bring out the soup bowls....this is not logistically a big buffet that make it hard for staff to know what to replenish. The soup is right next to the carver. Nothing to put the drawn bitter or soup in. Took little cup from roll butter to put drawn butter in. The regular food was fine for most people, but a little disappointing it seemed to be Cajun & hot spice night for the pasta dish and chicken both. I don’t eat the prime rib so that leaves the rest. The food I had was good.
Beautiful atmosphere. Much easier to get a reservation than the Chop House next door. Food and service are great.
We chose to do the $32 Prime Rib and Snow Crab Buffet. We were surprised to find that the snow crab was cold. The prime rib was mediocre - not much flavor. The roasted potatoes that were available on the bar lacked seasoning as well. On the plus side, the drink (the Bramble) that I ordered was tasty. Our waiter was attentive, and after our inquiry about the cold crab legs informed us that we could request a plate of hot, steamed crab. We were full by this time, and wish we had known from the outset. Since we had listed it as our anniversary when booking the reservation - our waiter brought out a complimentary dessert. It was a chocolate ganache cake. It was just ok, but it was the thought that counted. My husband and I both agreed that we should have just ordered from the regular menu instead of doing the buffet.
Service is always fantastic. However, I was very disappointed in my meal. I ordered the prime rib dip and whoever made it drowned it in the horseradish sauce, it was disgusting and overpowering the prime rib. Our server offered to take it back. I ordered a burger in replacement. Order Med-well and it was undercooked and the bun was soggy when I got it. I didn’t want to send yet another meal back since my friends were already done eating. I was totally disappointed. I should’ve just went with the buffet. The server made it up to us with a 10% discount on our meal though so that was nice. This is the first time I’ve eaten at the Grand Cafe where I haven’t liked my meal. I’m hoping it was just an “off” day. We all have off days.
Our server, Justin, was fantastic. He is one of the main reason we keep going back. We always ask for him and he makes it a fantastic dining experience.
Enjoyed the buffet. Everything was delish! We will definitely yell our friends & we'll be back.
We came to Grand Cafe to celebrate a birthday and it couldn’t have been a nicer experience. Everything was wonderful including the special birthday dessert they served my girlfriend.
We will be back!
Our waitress forgot a lot of what we asked for. She wasn't attentive. I took my mother and daughter there for the first time for the all you can eat buffet. We were mostly looking forwards to the crab legs. The crab legs were sooo dissapointing. They were super tiny, over cooked, water logged tasting. Prime rib was ok decent. Perch was way over cooked, and super chewy like leather. Potato salad had a bunch of crunchy, under cooked potatoes. Deserts were not good at all. I disliked that most deserts all have dark chocolate which I can't stand. My mom was dissapointed as well. We were hoping to finally have a nearby, good, all you cant eat buffet with crab legs. We are local to Lake Geneva. The singer was very good, and atmosphere was good. Just wish for the price, we had a better food experience.
Impressive resort with good facilities. Very clever to cover every market. Well laid out internally and good spread of buildings externally. Loved the sense of arrival.
Food and service were just okay. Nothing special.
We went there as a 6 person group to celebrate my wifes 60th birthday and when we checked in, the hostess acknowledged it but nothing was ever said or done at the table. That was disappointing to us.
Buffet was delicious, but because it's an open area into the lounge it is not the most intimate setting.
Excellent variety of food on Friday night buffet Servers are very attentive.
Great food and great service!
Piano music excellent Could listen all day My roast beef too tough to chew Birthday dessert excellent Waiter excellent Hostess excellent
Buffets are wonderful!
If you haven’t been to the Grand Geneva, what are you waiting for? We’ve enjoyed many meals at the restaurants on-site of this amazingly vast hotel resort. The Cafe’s seafood and prime rib buffet is top notch, with the server steaming your king crab legs in the kitchen. Then they bring the platefuls to your table, definitely a different take on a buffet. For AYCE on Friday and Saturday nights, the value, quality, service and ambiance combine for a pleasurable meal. It’s where we were for tonight’s dinner, and will surely return!
We have been to Grans Geneva Cafe many times. The service was horrible and then they added a mandatory 20% gratuity on a buffet. It took over 10 minutes before the server approached the table-he brought out drinks and never came back.
Great selection and food was terrific! The resort is new to walk the grounds with family!
Great Prime rib and seafood buffet for the price.
All good. Wait staff so attentive, almost too much. But I’ll take that over NO attention at competition. Love they bring a full pot of coffee, offer to have prime rib grilled to your liking and have crab legs warmed if you’d like.
For a restaurant purporting to be top shelf the food was slightly above average but the service was comparatively less than average. I wouldn't go there for a special meal.
Terrible buffet. Food not cooked. Free but no bargain.
We made the mistake of splurging for the $32 buffet which included crab legs, prime rib and mussells. The crab legs were so small; it was very hard to find any crab meat inside. The prime rib had a lot of fat and the mussels were inedible. The only item we enjoyed was the potato soup. The waitress did say that the crab legs were usually much larger.
This is an AWESOME RESORT. Great place for a quick weekend, romantic getaway. Staff was very pleasant and valets were great. Number 1 Resort in the Midwest.
Seafood buffet was worth every penny!!! If you took out the crab legs and prime rib I would still pay $32. I will absolutely be back.
Justin the best waiter ever is reason enough to go there
Everything was great and our waiter,Justin, was superb He alone is reason to go there.
Everything was great! My family had a wonderful time and my mom bday was great.
