Nice place. Good food, good service, reasonable prices.
Always a pleasure dining at Grand Geneva! Kelly took great care of us and the meal was delicious…wine too!
We had a nice time. Would have preferred to sit by the windows and see the light display outside. Hotel was nicely decorated for the holidays
Great server (Katie) which made the experience so much better. We had 9 (4 adults and 5 kids) and she was very attentive
We enjoyed the food! They have amazing service, food and were accommodating and understanding of our loud kids and the mess they made so we definitely appreciate them and will be going back next time we visit!
Grand Cafe was worth the money. Food was good, service and ambience was great 👍.
I would definitely recommend anyone to this restaurant. It had a great Christmas ambience with lots of little ones running around having a great time! It is not cheap but the food and service were excellent.
The food was very good. I would expect the wait staff to place your food down not hand it to you. As well as not serve off a tray, should place food on a food tray stand. Drink was way too strong.
Soup barely warm, shrimp not fresh, iceberg wedges, salmon fishy, prime rib chewy……..overall weak selection of food………wouldn’t pay $19 for that buffet let alone $45. Never again.
Nice buffet dinner, but over-priced ($45 per person). The room and atmosphere was really nice- festive for the holidays.
Attentive service staff. Food reasonable and very tasty.
food was great, our server was excellent. chocolate cake was heavenly.
I understand the challenges with staffing that many restaurants are facing. However, our experience could have been better. We waited 45 minutes to get our salads. One in our party ordered a burger with a side salad. The burger looked like something out of a child’s Happy Meal. After we finished our dinner entrees our waiter brought us the check without even asking if we wanted coffee or dessert. We were a bit baffled. Afterwards we we sat near the piano bar area. People at the bar that ordered burgers got something that looked completely different than what my friend got in the restaurant. They looked like sumptuous gourmet burgers, what one would expect. I would give this place another shot, perhaps this was an off night.
We had the Friday night buffet for $45 pp which had a nice charcuterie station( w/shrimp cocktail), salad station, seafood casserole, turkey, roasted root vegetables and a prime rib carving station. It was very nice for the price.
Buffet for dinner did not have good selection of meat.
Quality did not equal price. The food and service each needed to be better.
If your dress code is business casual-adhere to it.
Last night we were seated next to a table of women wearing jeans and midriff shirts with the neck cut so low you could see their breasts.
Last I checked, that is NOT business casual.
A very nice dining option in the resort. All of our meals were outstanding and the cheese board was excellent.
The shrimp and prime rib was outstanding. All the food was Delicious.
Your GPS directions to the Grad Cafe was very poor. It lead us to a private farm. The restaurant indicated that they have had similar complaints. The piano must was disappointing and bothersome.
We had great dinners and excellent service by Natalia.
My husband and I have been coming to Lake Geneva Resort for over 16 years. The Grand Café prior to COVID had an excellent buffet spread with lots of variety. This is our 1st time at the Grand Café Buffet during the pandemic and the selection has been reduced drastically. My husband and I being "foodies" were disappointed but thoroughly understand. Unfortunately, we will not be going back for the buffet anytime soon. One recommendation to the Café is to label what is being served...especially the deserts (we had no clue what some of they were).
Dinner with my wife and daughter. Kids menu was a hit with Kraft Mac & Cheese. My wife had the salmon and she said it was very good. Menu is limited but offered a variety. Server was good.
Overall the food was good The temperature of the food could’ve been warmer and there’s flies flying around
We were 1 of 4 tables in dining room and it took 45 minutes for our food. 2 kids meals, 2 salads and 1 chicken meal. Kids were starving so we asked for bread. Table of 4 came in after us and got food before us. Unacceptable!
But food was great!!!
We were staying at the resort and ate at the cafe multiple times for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is very good. The service is just fair. I'm not sure if it's a covid complication? They are certainly understaffed, but they also have capacity limits on their guests. Our dinners and lunches had great food, just lackluster service. We were encouraged to eat at the breakfast buffet because the one kitchen served three outlets and the wait for ordered food would be at least 30 minutes. That was fine and understandable. The buffet was nice, but for the price point the service should be better. Every time we ate here our drink orders either took 15 minutes or more to arrive, or we had to ask for them multiple times. Even just orange juice at breakfast. The hostesses were robotic and cold. There was never "hello! how are you?" or "what brings you to us this evening?" - no conversation or greeting at all. Where the staff could have been warm and friendly, checking on us or serving the few tables they had very promptly and thoroughly - they acted more like they just needed to complete the compulsories of this job. For such a nice resort, it was disappointing to not have a level of service that spoke to the surroundings.
Our food was amazing. While they didn’t have the steak my husband ordered he had the filet and it was amazing. I had the chicken francese and it was delicious. Some of the. Eat chicken I have ever had. The mashed potatoes and asparagus and carrots were equally as delicious. The caesar and greek salads were out of this world and cheesecake for dessert was so yummy. Highly recommend this place. Our waiter Isaiah was great.
The server was awful it took about 20 minutes after we receded to even get a menu or drinks it took another 10 minutes to get one drink My husband flagged him down ordered another drink and it took him a half an hour and my husband was done eating by that time The server never came and checked on us I ran out of something to drink during the service. We have been there quite a few times and this was the worst service we have ever gotten
Tables too close together you feel like you’re in the next tables conversations. Ran out of appetizers that were on the menu, waitstaff forgot to bring the nonalcoholic beverages. Small portions for the price of the entrees with no salad, soup or bread to go with the meal. Very disappointed. We had much better experiences in previous years.
Good, but pricey. Not a lot of variety or much for kids on menu.
Maybe because they are near the front door there were a lot of flies in the dining area it was something that was troubling to us while we were dining- the kids burgers came without condiments no lettuce or tomato or onion just a plain cheese burger isn’t someplace we will return maybe in the winter w/o the flies
Our server Dulce was a great. She very helpful and polite. Even when members of our party had switched seats before the food was served, she still served the order correctly.
The food, was, in my opinion, mediocre. I had a sirloin strip steak. I asked for medium well and it came back medium-ish I’d have sent it back but we had already waited about 55 minutes from appetizers arriving and being eaten to our food being served. The restaurant itself wasn’t that busy, it seemed the kitchen was slow/understaffed/under trained. Anyway, if we’re ever back at the resort, we might try it again for something other than dinner.
Great choice if you're staying at Grand Geneva Resort. It's in the lobby so it can get a bit loud if there's a large conference checking in or grabbing cocktails in the lounge. But the food and service are mostly great. We had oatmeal for breakfast, which was tepid the first day, but creamy. The second day we specifically asked for it hot & it was much better. At dinner, I had the shrimp po' boy, which was delicious. I'd skip the carrot cake unless you want something very dense & heavy. Good, but too heavy.
The chairs are extremely extremely difficult to move
Our server kind of forgot about us. After our meal never asked if we wanted anything else and we waited a very long time to get our bill. I was very disappointed in the service
We were promptly seated for our 7:30 pm reservation and waited 15 minutes for wait staff to take our drink order. We made the mistake of ordering an appetizer before ordering dinner, and the drinks and appetizer arrived 15 minutes later. Wait staff returned to take our dinner order 15 minutes later (they must work in quarter hours). Dinner was delivered an hour later. At least it was warm. Grand Geneva hasn’t been able to fully staff up since opening back up, and it really shows in their restaurant service.
Wonderful view and excellent food.
We enjoyed are dining out at the Grand Cafe. We had a variety of entrees including the buffet. All the food was very good. The service was great and the atmosphere was quiet, upscale, and had a great view. We will come back.
Great food and pleasant service! Table was ready right away, and the food came out quickly. Also appreciated my free birthday dessert!
Service was excellent, our server Kelly was attentive but not intrusive.
Feel bread or rolls should have been provided with prime rib dinner and also a salad or soup.
