Granite City Food & Brewery - Schaumburg

Our waitress, Shannon, was excellent!!
Our party of four adults all enjoyed the Sunday Brunch. Standard brunch fair is well prepared and there are some really terrific & unique dishes that are all worth trying. Our skepticism of being served in a buffet or serving station manner was more than overcome by the quality of the food we enjoyed.
We also agreed that the Mimosa deal was well worth getting and sharing a bottle amongst us as there was always plenty of juice to serve up with the champagne.
Lastly, while there was a “ Frozen” theme for this brunch, it did not intrude at all on the dining experience of us empty nesters. While certainly engaging youngsters, Granite City smartly keeps the meal from being a child-centric in making it a more low key presence that engages them one table at a time rather than making it a show for the room.
It was my first time going for their brunch. It was priced right at $21.95 with all the right items. I do not think they have missed a thing. I really enjoyed the twist on the biscuits and gravy. It may just bring me back more often! Wish it was thicker though!
Nice place to meet a friend for lunch and/or a business lunch. I have done both. Good menu options. Can do a full lunch or small plates. The small plates are excellent and do provide a nice lighter lunch. Also like that they have added low carb options too. And service is always friendly and helpful with questions.
Restaurant was disgustingly dirty from the time we walked in until the time we walked out. 5 millenials running the front standing around and talking but nobody attending to the mess in the waiting area. The floor under our table had 2 dirty cloth napkins and remnants of food seemingly from many different parties. Bathrooms were dirty. No TP, no clean up. I ordered a beer and had to send it back because my glass was sticky. Wait staff was slovenly. Blame it all on POOR TRAINING!
The menu has a lot of options, but we weren’t impressed by the food we ordered at all. The portion sizes were very small compared to the price you are paying- we ordered a buffalo chicken wrap and were shocked to realize it was no bigger than a snack wrap from McDonald’s with 1 piece of chicken in the whole thing.
Great menu selection and very courteous server.
Great welcome, however we waited 10 minutes before my husband reached out to a server. After that, everything was fine.
I met friends who I haven’t seen for quite a long time, and we’re not from the Chicago area. It was a wonderful evening.
The Asian Shrimp Tacos were a HUGE improvement over the last time we were there. Our waitress, Leslie(?), made sure it didn’t happen again. Thanks.
Never a disappointment!
Our server Stacy was excellent; very attentive and friendly. Spinach and artichoke appetizer was tasty, especially with the tomato pesto. Asian salads were very good, although slightly light on the amount of dressing. The birthday cookie and ice cream was a tasty surprise. Even the manager was very approachable and friendly.
We did bring friends and on the way out they both said they can’t wait to come back. Everything was great and different
Enjoyed the Happy Hour specials on small plates. Great attentive service. Thanks
The food was just bad. The beef tips app was really fatty and the meat was tough. The lettuce wraps were the worst I’ve had that I can remember.
New menu is “different” but not in a good way.
Prices are creeping up.
The food & service is always excellent. There are many convenient locations for us.
We went for happy hour. So many small plates to choose from. They were all delicious. And the adult beverages were excellent as well. Our server was great too. Remember when you’re getting a deal like with happy hour or coupons to tip on the full price. These servers’ wages are a pittance.
Food was excellent - great server- but wouldn’t go back because the noise level was so loud! It was impossible to carry on a conversation without screaming at each other.
The flatbread & soup were both cold
A little too noisy - hard to hear your companions
Website advertised an Octoberfest menu that was not available anymore on 10/19. Server said they ended that menu early this year - should be removed from website if not available
The food was pretty good as usual. We were seated in room at 5:15pm that is intended for families and our group was adults so that was not ideal. We were disappointed to learn that Granite City discontinued their special Oktoberfest menu which the reason we went there in the first place. Why would you do that on October 19th??? All we were able to get was the Oktoberfest beer which was excellent.
Great time! Rich our server was excellent
Music way too losd for a restaurant. Service was slow. Food was ok not great. Not going back.
The atmosphere in the restaurant was vibrant. My husband and I enjoyed some Octoberfest specials. The sausage dinner and the breaded pork tenderloin were delicious and portions were substantial.
Overall really good. Newer place, everything was really clean, food was pretty good. Would recommend for after work drinks.
Our waitress, Julie, was excellent. Don't think I've ever had better service.
family member visiting
The brunch was reasonable, but the food was average.
We had visited Granite City for Sunday Brunch and good was over cooked. Some items burnt and just wasn’t same quality as previous Brunch experience .
We eat here often. I love this place.
Will be definitely returning soon. Great ambiance.
Our server was amazing! So many good choices for the brunch also. Definitely going back.
Saturday night during Octoberfest was crazy busy and noisy. Service was friendly and helpful. Food was good.
Met up for dinner with friends. To me most restaurants these days are too loud. Plus there was a party close to us and they were very loud. All in all, a good place to meet people. They have a decent beer selection, the service was great, the food was ok. I'd go there again, knowing what to expect.
Love the place, the location and the food. Eat there weekly and have never had a bad experience.
The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. Great place for bite and drinks. Plenty of TV’s at the bar.
Disappointed with their new brunch... seems great on paper, but make your own sandwich and decorating donuts fell short - cold and too sweet! Just seemed to lack the attention of the past.
My girlfriends and I had an excellent first time experience from the service to the food!!
Been there several times before and was happy, now new menu and won't be back. Place half empty, had "open table" reservation, and they tried to sit us (party of 3) at booth that was intersection of restrooms and kitchen. Asked to be moved, offered high top table in bar, not going to do with a 16 yr old. Declined again and sent to back room where table wobbled and door to patio constantly opening and closing with concurrent breeze. Felt like we were penalized for a minimal expectation of using space effectively. Blame the host stand. Food OK, but waiter couldn't bring out my wife's drink until ordered a second time and he seemed surprised that was what she wanted... French fries cold while fish warm. They won't be around long at this pace.
