We Hadn’t been there since It had changed from the Sage Room. The decor looked Exactly the same. The service was mediocre, they never even told us about the specials. We felt like we were being rushed. The food was good but It was very Overpriced. The spaghetti with burrata Cost $28. I don’t mind Paying a lot For a meal as long as it is With good service, ambience and of good quality.
Amazing food. The owners were friendly and accommodating. I loved this place so much I went back 3 nights in a row!
Always a treat to come here. Food always great and service the best. Love this little gem in Malibu
Very nice neighborhood restaurant specializing in Italian food, owned and run by Italians. Enjoyable place to eat.
Food is excellent with wide variety...all of it great! Service is like being in an Italian village or a friend’s home.
Food was delicious in every way. Fresh and flavorful. Service was good, but we had to wait a bit to order even before it got very busy.
Food was great, service was exceptional. Would have liked the pasta to be a bit more refined, it felt heavy and a bit chewy, compared to other homemade pastas. The flavors of the sauces were good and the cheesecake was amazing! Nice wine by the glass selection.
Peno, his beautiful wife, Anglelo and the entire staff were at their best as usual. What my wife and I wanted wasn't on the menu and they arranged for us to have it anyway. Yummmmmmmy !
I had called the day before to confirm and make changes to the reservation. They accepted and said no problem. When we arrived the next day, they were confused that we were there - they said they tried to call but nobody confirmed. I told them the day before that we were from out of town. Fortunately it was early enough that they were able to make arrangements, but we were placed outside and what seemed to be out of the way.
The menu was a special menu for New Years, which differed from the online menu. Although understandable, I wish we were informed of this as we may have made a different selection.
We had dinner NYE and we loved it!! great food, great service and super fun experience.
The service is so great. The people are so kind and the food is delicious. Especially the homemade pasta
Great food and service. Very clean cozy authentic Italian restaurant.
Warm in spirit, cozy and terrific food. Especially nice in the winter months.
Love everything about it!!!
Gravina in Malibu is authentic Italian restaurant.
Feels like short trip to Italy.
The restaurant was quaint and quiet. Right by the beach. It didn't really have an Italian feel to it. The food was mediocre.....It was very salty. Nothing to brag about. The service was great. Waiter was great.
There wasn't a lot of wine choices. And the dessert choices weren't appealing.
I went here for the first time with my wife for our anniversary and we loved it! The main guy I can't think of his name was really cool with a thick italian accent. We wnet with the lobster pasta special and black truffle pasta and it was delicious. Definitely would recommend giving Gravina a try.
Very disappointed in the entire experience. The air conditioning was obviously not working on a 90 degree plus evening. The temperature in the restaurant was unbearable. Diners should have been contacted before making the drive to the restaurant so they could have made a decision about whether or not to cancel. Food was fine, but the server spent more time with a couple at another table than getting our check. This was also a 21st and 70th birthday celebration. We weren’t even offered dessert. Definitely will not return. Extremely poor service.
Parents Week-end for Pepperdine University— 3 families got together for a delicious meal!!!
Exceptional food and reasonable prices. Would come back every trip
Delicious pasta! Perfect branzini! Went with friends and enjoyed the evening
Lobster pasta was wonderful
Superb Italian . Like family. Great food. Papardelle with truffles and Porcini one of the best dishes this side of Umbria.
Good food, friendly atmosphere and service, cozy ambiance.
Always made to feel welcome. Great food and excellent service. Our go to place in Malibu
The owner is from Puglia. So was one of my dinner guests. The two immediately hit it off, both being able to converse in the dialect of their area. My friend commented to me that the food was very authentic, "Just like home." It was delicious. I highly recommend Gravina.
The service and attention to our group was outstanding. The food was made to order, served hot and was quite delicious. My wife's risotto didn't have enough flavor for her and we requested grated parmesan - which took care of it.
Looking forward to going back.
great quality and value Italian. super owner and friendly.
In a sea of overpriced, pay-for-location, beach-front Malibu restaurants, lies a true and authentic Italian gem called Gravina. The ambiance and vibe is somewhere in between casual and fancy, which is just right in my opinion. There were definitely a few locals there in jeans & tees and some folks were more dressed up. The food is simple yet elevated and really delicious. We tried the caesar, the grilled octopus, the pasta con vongole, and the oriechette. Everything was great. Prices are definitely a bit on the high end for Italian food, but hey it's Malibu after all. We had two apps, two pastas, two glasses of wine and one dessert for about $150 + tip. Service and course pacing is very slow and drawn out, as you would expect if you've eaten in an truly authentic Italian restaurant before. If your definition of good service is that someone comes by every 5 minutes to check on you, you might consider looking elsewhere. I hope to return to Gravina again to try some more delicious homemade pastas!
We will not be returning to this restaurant. Very small, only wine & beer, food WAY overpriced and not very flavorful ...how hard is Italian?! Had a celebration & with 4 diners, bottle of wine, appetizers, main entre, & they charged for the slice of B-Day pie! I brought balloons and candles.
Malibu's best food
Cosy and lovely
Great service and food. Angle hair pasta with shrimp very good. Nice assortment of deserts.
My wife and I have been going to Gravina for years now, and we can't find any other places that feels like home, taste fresh like a home-cooked meal and has a great staff and ownership. The lasagna is to-die-for, the pasta dishes are all amazing and the wine is really good at a reasonable price.
Excellent service, delicious spaghetti with pesto and burrata cheese and osso bucco. Great dessert.
Had a made to order main course that was wonederful ! Don't miss going to Gravina. You will be happy !
Still one of my favorite Italian restaurants even if I did forget to warn them that I wanted polenta. The food is delicious and fresh and the staff take really goo care of you in a discreet and friendly way. I go for my birthday and other special occasions because I know it will always be a memorable experience.
Love it every time! The grilled octopus starter is our all-time favorite!
As always, fabulous food and service. Had pizzas and they were perfect !
Excellent meal very nice ambience definitely will return
