Great Maple San Diego
The food and service were totally awesome. I would definitely recommend this place for Brunch.
Great food/drink & potions. Bathrooms are easily accessible & clean.
Everyone their does a great job, no complaints.
But the food is highly overpriced and not that great.
The thing to go to great maple is for the French toast logs that’s their shining star.
An unassuming building was a great surprise inside. The food is awesome!!
We were getting brunch for my cousin’s graduation, service was fine just slow. It looked like there were only 3 servers in the busy restaurant. As for the food, it was not as good as it normally is, the potato’s were undercooked and a bit hard. The eggs were almost rubbery. Not a fan this time around.
A girl friend and I met up around 930 with our babies and the place was very friendly and accommodating! Great food, great ambience, multiple people had their babies with them as it was a Monday morning and no one minded. I’m sure the place gets crowded on weekends but if you want some delicious food and friendly staff then this is the perfect weekday morning spot!
Fantastic food, as always. Huge portions. Very, very delicious and satisfying food! A happy experience every time. Also, well trained and attentive service. Love this place.
Food was fantastic but service is below average.
Delicious food, great menu, just kind of loud. Will definitely go back though.
Took my mother here for her birthday, we had a blast! Great friendly staff, food...OMGawd was outstanding as always.
Never a bad experience. Food is amazing. If you don't get a reservation, you're gonna wait a while.
Best ribs ever.
Great food, casual atmosphere, but the tables were squashed together really closely and the noise level in the restaurant is so high that you have to practically yell at each other to communicate.
Service was very slow, we were sitting outside and our server was very slow to come wait on us, I had an empty cup of coffee and had to flag someone down to get a refill, but the food was great.
Tried the place during Restaurant Week. I liked the menu. Not a big fan of the mesquite smoked pork belly, but only because I had it for breakfast instead of lunch. Soup was bomb diggity. I didn't have the maple bacon doughnuts but I've had it in the past and I will always say "Go for it!"
Staff was engaged and very friendly. The food was phenomenal with flavors that popped. If I lived here, I'd be a regular there.
Very busy and extremely noisy. I recommend a reservation and lunch calms down around 1:30pm on the weekends. Food good, service good but meal was rushed. Entrees arrived before the appetizers, sent them back, arrived again just after appetizers arrived had to send back. Entrees arrived again while eating appetizers, gave up and took the Entrees.
always amazing food!! love this place. If you are ever visiting San Diego, stop by
Everything was perfect!!! Gnocchi, caesar, ribs, crispy skin chicken, key lime pie, and brownie with salted caramel a la mode!! Service great also!!!
Restaurant week great deal!
Came with a guest for SD Restaurant Week and were blown away. Every bite of every dish was outstanding.
Menu descriptions may make the food sound simpler than it actually is. Each item has some extra or unusual ingredient which makes it stand out from what you'd get anywhere else. Prices make it a good value. The happy hour menu (500p-600p) makes for a downright cheap meal. Service was excellent - friendly and efficient. Nice extra touches like the little metal trays for the bones from the pork rib entrée.
It's just across the bridge over the 163 from the busy part of Hillcrest and has plenty of parking right in front. From the street it looks a bit like the diner it once was, but the décor of the interior is a good deal more elegant.
Will definitely be returning to try other menu offerings.
Their food is fresh and their plates are innovative. We tried the gnocchi with green apple and brussels sprouts and they were DELICIOUS!! So do the burrata with figs and aragula. My husband ordered the turkey bolognese parpadelle and it was o perfect. We finished with the BEST apple pie we have ever had. And the service was great! We will definitely recommend it and we will come back soon!
Loved the food!!! Service was excellent! No complaints from me. I’d like to try other stuff next time! Love love love this place!
Truly wonderful food and service. You could taste every flavor. So fresh and such great combinations. And reasonable prices to boot! Thank you! We will be back!
We were visiting from Minnesota and I had done a search of best breakfast places in San Diego, and Great Maple was on the list. I would like to go back and try the maple bacon donuts and the popover breakfasts. Food arrived hot and waiter was attentive. We had reservations on a Thursday morning as I wasn't sure how busy it would be. There were some open spots.
Great experience! Food and drinks were delicious.
The Great Maple was the one "must do" item on the list of places to visit in San Diego, by good friends of ours who LOVE SD!
We are so glad that we followed this recommendation!
The experience from making the reservation on Open Table, to our experience in the restaurant, the creativity and deliciousness of the menu items, the service we received throughout the visit was fantastic!
We will definitely make The Great Maple a regular part of our future visits to San Diego!
I highly recommend the Sage Brown Butter Gnocchi - SO delicious! and the Griddled Chicken & Brie Sandwich (MMMMM!!), there was a special spin on the Classic Polenta the day we visited, and it was wonderful! And of course the remarkable Maple Bacon Doughnuts! I also enjoyed a special Margarita on the Menu for Restaurant week, that was refreshing and delicious!
Don't miss this special experience! :)
I would recommend other restaurants first. May would try again and order something different.
Out of towners
Great food and service! Have bee here many times and never disappoints
Comfort food - they can adapt menu items for plant based preferences.
Took awhile for our server to greet us and take drink orders. We had to ask for water three times. (We got it after our entrees came out.) Flatware was removed when appetizer plates were cleared, we had to request more flatware when entrees were delivered.
Great food! Amazing service! Definitely coming back again!
They were short on staff so everything took forever. They also brought our appetizers after our main course and the runner told us that it was weird of us to order the appetizer after the main course.
Loud dining experience. Also food not what expected from what is written on menu. La Jolla location outdoor seating is vest for ambience. This branch has both outdoor dining but is too hot and indoor seating that is too loud
Great food!! Nice and clean, good service...!! Homey and delicious.
Fantastic food and great service!
Great Maple continues to offer a wide variety of dishes. Well prepared and served with style.
We came into celebrate a bride to be after attending the wedding expo. We arrived early and were seated before our time which was awesome. Food was delicious and so were the drinks! Only the Temperature was a little warm in the room and the check we received was wrong. Other than that we had a great first experience. Every single person loved their dishes in our party of 6.
