Wonderful meal in a quiet setting. We were glad that we could enjoy the British pub fare and have a nice conversation while doing so.
Sunday brunch for my mother’s birthday. The food and drinks were amazing! I personally recommend the Eggs Benedict with crab meat and the spicy Bloody Mary’s but everyone in our group was happy with choices as well. Our server was very attentive and pleasant. Look forward to our next visit.
Went to celebrate anniversary. We were given the royal treatment.
We really enjoyed the live entertainment. Ryan Jewel. The hamburger was scrumptious. We would definitely go back again.
First time there and everything was Excellent!!!! Our waitress was excellent also. I had Butternut Ravioli and was superb!! Husband had pork chops and was delish also!!
I have been here many times. It never disappoints. The variety of menu items to choose from is outstanding, as well as yummy. I usually try something new, at least as an appetizer. We never feel hurried and the servers are always knowledgeable and friendly as well as attentive.
Very good food; don't expect what you are used to. The food is very creative and tasty. Parking was not easy, as the lot next to restaurant is not theirs....you have to fight to find parking on the street.
Wonderful atmosphere. Very fun place. Delicious shepherd's pie and vegetable ravioli. Our server was fantastic.
Very flavorful food and conscientious waitstaff.
Wonderful service...no rushing us but always available. She was just great. The food was good and plentiful and the appropriate temperature.
Excellent service and wonderful brunch menu!
The house built in the 1870s is lovely as are the photos on display. The french fries were extremely salty, and so was the green bean side that I ordered instead of eating the homemade potato chips. The chips were also salty. The best thing was the pecan salad and delicious mustard vinegarette dressing. The burgers seemed to be the best deal. The service was slow and the server didnt check back with us to see how our food was. We had to ask another server to ask her to return. Upon leaving we suggested she give feedback to the manager.
Aziz is a great server. Well done!
Large family gathering in enclosed room was perfect for our boisterous family. Food & drinks were delicious and service was quick and friendly. Guests loved all the choices on the menu, first timers loved the Ploughman Platters, Shepherd's Pie. We recommend Griffin to everyone!
We enjoyed an anniversary dinner, and the staff surprised us with a table decorated for our celebration, as well as a complimentary dessert, which was very thoughtful! The ambiance on the front porch was wonderfully quiet, beautiful, and comfortable. The food is always delicious, the spirits were perfect, and the staff was exceptional! We will always come back!
We were disappointed that we had to sit in the bar. They had several big groups with celebrations and couldn’t honor our reservation at a table. Bar chairs were high and difficult for two of us to get in.
Awesome atmosphere ... great food ... wonderful time!!
It is always pleasant to sit outside with good friends for a lete-summer lunch at Griffin Tavern, and to enjoy the calamari appetizer and the chocolate cake dessert. The entrees, however, were disappointing this time. The "specials" of the week were mediocre rather than special, and presented as if everything was simply thrown onto the plate. It might have helped our appetite (and enhanced the ambiance?) if our waiter had mustered a little more attentiveness—and energy. Without jumping to conclusions, we begin to wonder whether GT is becoming tired, and whether it is still worth the 100-mile roundtrip.
Always try to stop by when we’re in the area. Consistently good food and service, never disappoints. Celeste did a great job with service!
Food was good as usual. Server did not appear at our table for 15 minutes.
We love our times at Griffin Tavern!! It’s not far from home, and it’s quite a nice place for a really nice meal!!
Everything was incredible, as always. We were seated outside, as desired, even!
We had a great dinner at Griffen. The staff was very attentive and provided excellent service, the food was outstanding and the atmosphere was excellent for our anniversary celebration. Would recommend Griffen Tavern to anyone looking for a good night out, you won't be disappointed.
The staff was exceptionally nice. We really enjoyed our dinners and the beer selection.
What a great place this is. The building is wonderful both inside and out. Food was delicious, especially the pavlova. Do yourself a favour and eat here soon.
We were on the front porch. Wonderful weather and ambiance. Steak was requested medium rare to rare, came medium. Appetizer of egg on salmon was wonderful.
Thanks we had a very good time and a good server
Been going to Griffin Tavern for many years and the food, service, ambiance is always the best. The Owners and staff are always cheerful and make the experience wonderful for everyone. Highly recommend.
We go here typically for Sunday brunch but have been for dinner a couple of times in the last few months. The food and service is always good and the menu changes so you always have good options.
As usual, both the ambiance and the food were wonderful! The restaurant is in a lovely country house that is perfect for enjoying a leisurely lunch. There are ample choices on the menu (both standard menu and specials list) that would suit any palate. Service is friendly, attentive and professional. A friend and I started meeting at Griffin Tavern for lunch whenever we can since Flint Hill is a mid-point between her house and mine. I enjoy the restaurant so much that my husband and I have driven all the way out there from our home in Warrenton for dinner and undoubtedly will do so again since he likes the restaurant as much as I do! Everything out of the kitchen is chef-prepared, by which I mean tasty and attractively presented! Additionally, when my friend and I meet for lunch we tend to make it a very long lunch since we will be going our separate ways afterwards. The wait staff has never pushed us to leave.
This was our second visit. Both were fabulous! This place is a gem. The service staff are all very friendly and the food is great!
Great Sangria. Good band but very loud in the small bar. Outside patio is comfortable.
This restaurant is my new favorite. The atmosphere is relaxed, but it is charming and lovely! There are framed photos on the walls (some for sale), and a gallery upstairs. Lots of smaller, more intimate rooms; it would never feel like a big, noisy restaurant. You really feel that you are in a country inn. The food is great; my husband adores the British fare menu. We will go back many times...for events large and small!
Always enjoy the everything about the Griffen Tavern, so glad they are close to us.
Birthday. The waitress was aware and wished my beautiful wife a happy birthday which was nice!
We will try the porch next time. Small dining rooms make it darn near impossible to have private conversation
As always, a lovely setting, excellent service, and great food and drink - including some holiday specials!
Nice ambiance in a delightful Flint Hill restaurant. Good varied menu with excellent food and great service from a charming waitress. Highly recommended.
Usually we love this place. Sunday was not very good. We waited over 15 mins for a server. One drink came, we had to ask twice for the other ice tea. The poached eggs were hard and the hash browns were cold. The English muffins were not toasted. Very disappointing.
What a peaceful, wonderful place for lunch. Service & food were outstanding.
