I never seem to have the same experience here. While no experiences have been bad they are not consistent. Some days its amazing, portions are awesome especially for tapas and other days they are just off. Not sure if its the A team and B team in the Kitchen or off nights.
Patio is amazing and only adds to the great atmosphere.
We had an amazing meal, full of flavor, and beautiful ambiance on October 6, 2019. If the weather is cooperating, I recommend sitting outside. Loved the mussels and the chickpea cake. If you order a cheese dish (we got the Manchego), ask for a small side of roasted almonds to accompany. Mariah is a wonderful and friendly server with the best smile. We will def come back!
It was out third visit. We find the food and drink of a very high quality and very flavorful. Open till late which makes it very convenient when you have so much to do on a weekend. Though it is a tapas menu the plates are of a good size and you if order a pialla you need 4 dishes that can be shared amongst 3 people.
This visit I really have to mention our server. He was absolutely fantastic. So helpful, so attentive and knew everything about the dishes and could make recommendations and amendments to suit our needs. Was a very enjoyable evening indeed. We will definitely be back.
This was my first time at this great restaurant! The food it is very tasty and flavorful.
The waiter Brian was extremely courteous. However, I wish that he had let us know that the charcuterie plate only comes with two options and we had to choose besides just ordering a chef choice. I then requested the cured ham and I had to pay for it.
I had the $58 steak 🥩 for share (big plates) and it was very flavorful but a bit fatty for my taste. The potatoes 🥔 were amazing and very flavorful. The mushrooms 🍄 were tasteful as well. It defiantly took me back to Spain.
Overall I give this restaurant a 9/10 and I will be going back again. Even with the few tips that have been listed above, I think this is a great restaurant.
I have been to Gypsy Kitchen many times and this one was the only bad experience but will make me think twice about going back. Darla our waitress was so rude and absent it was horrible! Absolutely spoiled my friends birthday.
It may have been a fluke, but there was only one elevator working in the parking deck and there are no stairs to take that will not set the fire alarm off. Also, the A/C was not working in the restaurant that night and it was miserably hot. They should consider installing ceiling fans inside the restaurant too. The food was decent but not extraordinary for tapas.
We had a table of 8 outside on the balcony. Our service was tremendous. The waiter was attentive, humorous and knowledgeable of the menu. The ambience outside was funky and trendy (inside as well). Food came is a timely order and was pretty good across the board (we ordered 6 or so different items). Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a delicious and fun time in Atlanta/Buckhead.
Girls Night - we shared a bunch of plates, chickpea pancake was half burnt, it was so hot inside it felt like an oven. We were all sweating. Ruined the evening. Felt cooler outside because at least there was circulation of air. Great atmosphere always busy.
Chose this restaurant because it was recommended by a friend. The restaurant was hot inside. People at surrounding tables were fanning themselves, as were we. The service was perfectly horrible. It took 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order. No one explained anything regarding the menu. We ordered a charcuterie tray and the server offered no explanation of the contents. We had to wave down servers for service to order food, water refills, check. All in all the food was good, but I will not recommend it to friends.
The food was AMAZING! The seafood Paella is a MUST if you ever find yourself at Gypsy Kitchen! It was by far the best I’ve ever had. Our server Avery was prompt and welcoming. When we requested the flan for dessert only to find out the restaurant was out, Avery had the chef make us churros on the house, which were to die for! The manager Ali also came out to the table to apologize and provided his card should we need anything for future visits. The hospitality and customer service at Gypsy Kitchen is 5 star! We’ll definitely be back! Oh...I highly recommend the 50 Shades of Purple cocktail!
Very noisy, the restaurant was too dark to read our menus, the food quality was middling, our server was alternately too chatty then disappeared for way too long, and she recommended 8 tapas for two people which turned out to be way too much food.
I’ve been coming here off and on for years. After probably a dozen experiences, I can say with confidence that the food quality simply does not match the otherwise high quality design and professional staff. If this restaurant weren’t located in such a prominent and affluent Shops of Buckhead location, I’m pretty sure that it would be out of business long ago. I recommend this place for drinks only.
Great food and service. The ribeye is fantastic with the mushrooms.
Lydia did a phenomenal job of taking care of our group. We were celebrating a birthday and she made it very special. Although she was obviously busy, we had no issues with timeliness or a lack of service.
The food and service were great! The cushions on the bench were wet so my pants were wet after dinner. Not good. We will be back. Just not within a couple days of rain. Ha.
Nice bday night at Gypsy Kitchen.
I took my husband here for his birthday and we were treated like royalty! The manager came out and introduced himself, they gave us complimentary champagne and dessert. The food was exceptional. It blew past our expectations!
Always a great time at Gypsy.
The brunch was amazing. Every Tapa that we ordered was delicious.
Great for friends to hang out - good food and drinks
Great atmosphere for a fun dinner with friends. Lots of options to choose from for all different appetites. Food comings out quickly and service was great.
Service was great. She kept coming back to check on us. We went for a recommended cocktail off the menu which neither of us cared for but the food was great and the atmosphere was very lively and professional. We booked the table just two hours before and it was ready as soon as we arrived. Will definitely go back.
Food was mediocre at best. Extremely overpriced when u e had similar tapas at other places. The ambiance was great, and the drink I ordered was delicious. This might be a better place for drinks then trying to enjoy a fun and delicious dinner.
Had a great time celebrating a friends birthday at gypsy kitchen, service was phenomenal, food was excellent, cocktails superb. Have been a return customer for quite awhile and plan to keep on returning.
Excellent outside table with a great view and service and food.
We had great service, great food and the restaurant is beautiful. Could not ask for more.
We made a reservation for 11am brunch and only realized when we got there that Gypsy Kitchen opens at 11 on Sundays! The place was quiet since we got there early, and the service and food delivery time was very good. The food itself was okay, some of the items we wanted had run out the night before, which was unfortunate. What we did have, a queso, a shrimp cocktail, and the chicken migas, had some unique flavors, but the portions were too small to be considered a satisfying meal given the price. All-around pretty good, but I’d only really save Gypsy Kitchen for special occasions.
Wonderful restaurant for a get together with a girlfriend. Food was wonderful. View was great. Cocktails were great.
I love Gypsy Kitchen! I did not like the fact that you’re able to make a reservation but when you arrive, there’s no seating and you still have to wait for a table. Why give us an option to make a reservation if we won’t have a table ready for the time our reservation was for?
We arrived for our reservation for two and the hostess asked us if we wanted a table inside or outside. We asked for a table inside but we were then told the only current option was a community table on the un-covered porch. We declined and were told that we would be added to the wait-list. I asked why we needed to be added to the wait-list when we had a reservation and the hostess told us "she can't help how long people stay for happy hour". We elected to wait at the bar. After we had our first drink, the hostess came and told us she had a table on the covered porch that we could be seated at. We accepted the covered porch even though it was not our first option. We closed our tab at the bar within a minute or two and made our way to the hostess stand. A different host informed us that the table had mistakenly been sat by another couple. After scrambling for a few minutes, they eventually came up with a table for us. Throughout the entire ordeal, no one ever apologized for the wait or the mistakes. Instead, we were made to feel like our presence was the inconvenience. Once we were sat, our server was very kind and the food was good. If I ever go back, I will just go for drinks at the bar, not a sit-down meal.
Great atmosphere and awesome food
I made the reservation for my best friend’s birthday and the food was honestly terrible. I have NEVER sent back food and I had to send back two dishes and a drink. The amount of salt used on the paella was inedible. The chicken smelled and tasted like new rubber. The smell made us gag. I will not be returning.
My first time going to this place and I thought the food was alright. I enjoyed the garlic shrimp and seafood paella. The other tapas I ordered I had to send back because it was not what I thought I would be. The best part of my dining was the customer service and how they made sure I was satisfied. They Made it up with cocktails, champagne and dessert. They deserve 5 stars.
Good service, great food, great drinks.
The food here is amazing!!! Plus the out door patio gives you the cosmopolitan feel that I crave. Will definitely be back.
So much fun!
Never had a bad meal here, of course having a great service is always a plus which was not the case this time, however when in Atlanta this is a must stop.
Great ambiance!! Interesting food. Definitely will dine again!
Food is ok. Service is ok. Went for brunch and was underwhelmed. I may go back for a night out on the patio as the drinks and ambiance are cool but if you’re looking for yummy tapas try Barcelona or somewhere else...
Way too hot, uncomfortable to enjoy.
