Hammocks Trading Company
Maine lobster, chipotle cream, cabbage, pico de gallo
Seared Sea Scallops
salsa verde, cotija cheese, fresno chilis, chipotle vinaigrette
All five of us were very pleased with the food. It was excellent, especially the scallops which was very creative and tasty. We dined inside and it was empty and very quiet. O
Everything on the menu looks amazing!!! We wanted to order one of each menu item. The Sever (can’t remember his name) but a very handsome, knowledgeable and honest, brown skinned gentleman, was very attentive and pleasurable. We had lunch here and ordered 2 appetizers (the Crab tots and tuna ceviche), a salad, and Oysters Rockefeller. Everything was amazing. We ended up being so full that we decided not to order entrees. I am excited about our next visit we’re we can possibly try the Jerk Chicken and Maybe a fish entree!
We came to Hammocks Trading Company for their outdoor seating to enjoy some good seafood in a relatively COVID safe venue, but the rain drove us indoors. Many COVID-19 risk mitigation strategies in place indoors like tables spaced safely apart, but some of the servers’ masks did not cover their noses making us a little uneasy about being inside.
Our first impression was a little less than welcoming. We entered the door by the patio and spoke to the first server we encountered. She directed us across the restaurant to the hostess table, only for the hostess to direct us back to the patio to “sit wherever you like”.
Baja fish taco with housemade purple corn tortilla was delicious. Fried cod on the fish and chips was also excellent but fries were a bit overdone. Overall, very good to excellent food with OK service in a casual, beach-vibe atmosphere.
Must have been an "Off Night" and it was way off! Small portion, tastless rice and beans, awful "corn pudding", it was corn with cheese on top. Usually always good..... but not this night!
First time here. Wonderful!!!!! Seafood was SUPER fresh, service was OUTSTANDING and good price. The ambiance makes you feel you are traveling in the Keys (Florida). We will be back! LOVED it.
Always a great experience at Hammock's
The Fried Grouper Sandwich. The best! PERIODT!!!!
Great experience on the patio
We've been customers for years. Love the place and staff, including owners, but don't like the new menu...sorry guys, thought you might like to know the truth. Missed the shrimp & oyster po boys, parchment wrapped salmon, fried okra, basically the old menu.
We ate outside on their colorful picnic table where tables were socially distanced. All staff had on masks and patrons wore them in and out. The food was fabulous and fresh ( lobster tacos, HTC salad, gumbo, fish and chips) staff is extremely accommodating and the food was terrific. Welcome back Hammocks Trading Co.
We had the best service .... our servers name was Mitch ..... he was outstanding!
The food and the service was fantabulous!
Social distancing and mask protocols were practiced!
They were busy, very busy (with limited seating due to Covid-19 precautions). We sat for a few minutes waiting on our server, knowing he had his hands full, the hostess brought us waters while we were waiting which was nice.
Ronald, our server, greeted us shortly after with a smile and took his time with us about drink recommendations and menu suggestions. Ronald is top notch, if you pick on him about his ball cap (NY Yankees) he really opens up. He kept the drinks coming and was a lot of fun.
My wife, my son, our dinner fest and I spent the ride hike talking about how great the service, food, and overall experience was.
Food's always excellent here! The only thing disappointing was the lobster taco my friend and I ordered. The lobster was on one skewer, and the portion was soo tiny. Thank God our appetizers helped fill us up, or we would have walked away hungry. I just won't order this one item again.
Enjoyed the live music outside.
James was fun, funny, precious, awesome. A genius. Music was fab!- Fire & ?? Never been disappointed with food. Great night to be outside at “the beach”!
This was my first time back since the Hammocks brought on a new chef and remodeled the restaurant. The soft shell crab sandwich was crispy and perfectly cooked. The key lime pie and the brownie and ice for dessert couldn’t have been better.
Sat on patio. Grilled salmon and plantains were fantastic
Our service was excellent! We went on a quiet Wednesday night. The food was delicious (so excited baked salmon is back!), and the drinks were so refreshing. The music and energy was lively, and we had a great time! A great place to have in the neighborhood!!
Me and my wife went there for a lunch date. The food was great and the Jamaican punch was on point. Our waiter was always around and the chef Alex is an amazing cook. We will be back for sure
Great food and new menu items - I wish we had not been seated right next to the door to the patio though. Somewhat odd for the first outside party.
We had planned to meet another family here for lunch, but they got the dates mixed up and were a "no show," so my husband and I stayed and had a delicious lunch. I over-ate by consuming the lobster roll and house made potato chips that were very filling. I need to learn that I cannot consume as much food as I used to eat when I was younger. The lobster was delicious. My husband very much enjoyed his Jamaican jerk chicken entree and ate every bite. Our wait person must have been very busy because we rarely saw him. I had to wave him down to get a refill on my iced tea. He was very nice, but did not ask us if everything was okay until we had consumed most of our lunch. Overall, it was an enjoyable lunch.
Hammocks is great. But the recently increased the prices and it’s not really a good value anymore.
Everyone was very kind including our server. With the pandemic, I’ve been very limited in my abilities due to my health risks, but social distancing and other precautions were enforced by the staff and that was appreciated.
The food was great, but the chocolate cake was amazing!!!
Craving oysters on the half shell. Their oysters were good but $18/half dozen is pricy. Spicy shrimp appetizer was delicious as were the oysters. They have outdoor seating too.
for a $25 entree i want a more professional waiter. table wobbled. he offered to sit us at a picnic table. no thanks.
The food is consistently good. When I ordered a lobster roll and was told they were Sold Out...I expressed my disappointment in a very polite way. My waiter’s exact reply was...”what do you want me to do about it?”
Perhaps a better approach is to say “I’m so sorry. I hope you’ll come again this week and I bet you’ll score a delicious lobster roll.”
It’s hard for servers...working in the heat with a mask. Let’s all be a little more polite to one another. Customers too!
Our server, Leah, was the best. Attentive, but not intrusive. Our 2 1/2 year old grandson hugged her. Overall, a good experience.
Food was excellent! Service was excellent as well!
Delicous! Only the cloth from the waiters were absolutely ugly!
A bit pricy for what you get. Crab tots were good.
When you charge 28$ for 4-6 ounces of fish, It better be darn near impeccable. The Ala-cart sides were mediocre. The furniture is Ikea-esk. Our waitress was awesome, knowledgeable and quick. But the portion sizes were all out of whack. So I would not send any of my friends with a recommendation.
Food was good but the portions were relatively small for the cost. This place has a neat concept and was like being at the beach which was nice.
The seafood was super fresh. Great staff. The house specials were amazing. The lobster roll was SO delicious 😋
Way overpriced from what is was. Will not be back with current menu, use to go regularly. It’s toI bad, was a great place, their new Island themed idea is awful. Good luck to them.
Our server was amazing, as was the food.
Service was great; food was great. The location is a little odd, but they've made the best of it.
Now is a terrible time for restaurants due to heightened awareness. If you're going to open, please respect not only new guidelines, but basic restaurant hygiene. When we asked for extra plates, we witnessed the waitress wipe off a plate with her bare hand before bringing it to our table.
The staff was certainly pleasant, so no issues there. As for the food, our money would be better spent cooking at home. We tend to order multiple dishes when we dine out, but nothing here stood out, or impressed us enough for a subsequent visit. We thought we'd try out the new menu, but this was the 3rd strike for us.
We had a great meal. The appetizers were great. The mussels were a wonderful sharable beginning course. All entrees were good and a few of us had the lobster roll for a special treat. Lobster was perfect and added w/ some grilled veggies and crispy fries we had a great lunch!
Delicious seafood, well thought out with very friendly service!
