   I learned a lot about making Hot Chicken! I took home some new skills. The absolutely only drawback was not having the overhead monitors working but Chef Mir handled showing us each step excellently.

   Excellent dining experience. Waitstaff was professional and courteous, going above and beyond. The short rib was delicious! Two of our diners had the wagyu steak which they said was good but a tad salty. The desserts were scrumptious. A beautiful setting for a special night out. Bravo!

   Anniversary.. had the occasion wrong after we noted on the guest reservation it was for our anniversary. The service(Anna) and the staff were exceptional and the environment was pleasant.. great view of outdoors and moderately quiet. Both our dishes were fair but far less value than the price point. Additional items to spice up the menu and add greater variety in all categories main, appetizers, side dishes, deserts should be considered. We had the chicken and braised short rib… neither were well cooked and did not meet expectations at the price point. Unfortunately, while the staff provided great service, the menu and food did not live up to the restaurant’s reputation.

   Our food, braised short rib, was excellent. Tender, melt in your mouth and seasoned to perfection. Amy was a perfect server, hospitable and very informative. Our seat overlooked the courtyard and we had a lovely view of the fire pit at night. I was given a footstool to rest my purse. Everything was lovely. We celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary there and we’d were not disappointed. Oh, and the Signature cake was to die for! Thank you Harriman for a lovely and memorable time.

    A great night, celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. Service picked up well after a slow start, which the assistant manager solved with a quick drink order. The bread should have a separate review of five stars!. Appetizers were on point, with a well made steak tartare and warm octopus plate, also very well balanced. Main dishes were, as expected, well cooked and brought at the proper temperature. The only reason we did not give the food a 5 star review is that the Halibut portion was underwhelming and a bit dry. The signature cake was, signature indeed! Incredible. Service is at the level expected by a 5 star establishment, yet, Ana, who took care of us all night, was beyond good, providing the needed balance between plates and keeping a great pace of our memorable night.

    Great choice if you're staying at the Salamander resort. Great food and better service. Must try the grilled Octopus 🐙 served over a bowl of Black eyed peas. The Oyster Rockafella was a great appetizer too. We had the Halibut and 18 oz Bone in Kansas City strip. The Halibut was cooked perfect, flaky, and great tasting. I tried some of the KC strip and it was cooked just right too. Just a great evening and we came back for breakfast. An amazing great experience!!! Thank you Terry for making our restaurant experience fantastic

    Beautiful setting. Attentive wait staff (Erin is a diamond). Food is superb, cleverly designed and presented. I have already recommended Harriman's to my boss. Rapidly becoming a go to location for my wife and myself.

    We enjoyed our evening at Harriman's. The baked goods (bread, cake and another dessert) were average. The rest of the meal including brussel sprouts, fig & dates, and a special - chicken gnochi were excellent. The scallops were over powered by the smoked bacon which made it mostly taste like smoked bacon- not scallops. The drinks were excellent and the service was attentive without being pushy or intrusive. There was a child sitting behind us watching an ipad at at VERY high volume. It was distracting and annoying. Overall, a nice exerience.

    We went for Sunday brunch, and while some items were outstanding (salad and croissants, for example), others were sub-par (French toast, pancakes, eggs)--these could have been fresher/warmer when they brought them to the table. These items tasted as if they had been sitting in the kitchen for a while: for example, the French toast and pancakes were chewy and cold. Additionally, only one refill on coffee the entire time we were there wasn't sufficient, and we had to ask for that. For the price of this brunch, our expectations were higher.

    Everything about my breakfast was ‘fine,’ but for a total of $50 for one person - I expected more than ‘fine.’ The scrambled eggs were inedible. The bacon was tasty but greasy - same for the potatoes. Rather wet with grease. The latte was half foam, the orange juice ($9!) was good. I had been looking forward to my breakfast but found it disappointing. Service was slow and inattentive.

    We celebrated our wedding anniversary at the Harriman’s today. It started out nicely with a glass of nice wine and some bread and house made butter which was nice. We ordered buttered pasta for our daughter and I asked if they could do spaghetti to which I was assured that they absolutely could do it. Our appetizers came next. Octopus was fine but parsnip soup too salty to eat. Pasta came at the same time. It had marinara sauce and small wavy fusilli looking pasta. I told them I did not order marinara. No apologies. About 15 minutes later they brought again the same pasta, overcooked and falling apart. Half of the bowl was filled with water. It resembled a pasta soup. The waitress came over, again without apologizing and asked if everything was to our liking. I asked her why they did not make spaghetti like she said they could do, to which she said that this was the pasta they served (no apology again). Then I told her that the pasta was falling apart and overcooked and that half of the bowl was full of water. She looked at it and said that it was melted butter. Pasta was barely warm and any butter would have solidified by now. It literally looked like they rinsed marinara sauce off the noodles and just tossed them back in the plate. At that point my toddler just ate bread and butter. Entrees came later. Cod was dry and sauce it came with was very salty. Wagyu steak was ok, a bit chewy. For dessert we got their pannacotta which was the best dish out of our meal. When the waitress came over to check up on us and asked how we were liking it, I told her that their dessert was the best dish out of the whole dinner. She said that she was very happy we enjoyed our meal. Clearly there was something lost in the translation. All in all, a rather disappointing experience.

    This experience was a little different from our previous dining experience. Food was cold, when mentioned to the waitress she stated “we’ll keep that in mind next time.” Not even asking did we want her to take the meat back to reheat or anything. We still had a table full of cold breakfast food so how is keeping that in mind next time benefiting us!! After receiving the first course which included flaky pastries their of course was crumbs on the table. I would think that proper etiquette or just common sense would be to wipe the table off before putting new plates & silverware down but that didn’t happen. After asking could the table be wiped off, she proceeded to wipe one side of the table and left my friends side with crumbs. Very confused as to why she thought this was okay. I would’ve understood if the restaurant was busy but it was fairly empty. Looking around it just seemed the overall up keep wasn’t being met by the staff. New place settings on empty tables but clearly could see food on the floor & under the tables. Definitely not what I expected.

    It is expensive, and for that I think it lacked some basic things, especially on the actual table setting. No cloth, very bare, not what one would expect given the steep prices. The room is large, with high ceilings, so it can be noisy, and overall I was hoping for a more special dinner ambiance. The food was good, and proportions shareable. Our group was easy going, but if you are looking for a special kind of experience I'm not sure this is the place.

    We’ve been going to the Salamander for brunch for several years, and it has been phenomenal in the past, but this time it was just okay. The hotel and restaurant are beautiful, but it’s quite a trek out there for mediocre food. The service was lacking as well this time, unfortunately.
