Hart House Restaurant

Monica and the GM were unbelievably amazing!!! The food and service were off the charts (again). This is undoubtedly the best birthday dinner I’ve had in memory. #offthecharts

A great place to go after a walk around Deer Lake to have tea or a snack. Very happy that this restaurant is open during Covid. This time it was for brunch and then a walk. Only negative comment is that the food could be better. It has been a bit over cooked the last two times I was there, is pretty straightforward and could be more imaginative. .

We had a very enjoyable birthday brunch at the Hart House. The service was attentive and friendly. They did well to accommodate dietary restrictions. WE've been there before and will be glad to go again.

The food was amazing, but this is the second time we have gone where they made a mistake on our food order. I’m very okay with this sort of thing because I understand things happen. I mention it because I find it surprising it has happened two times in a row. The first mistake we ate a bite of food with pork in it without knowing because of a mistake they made. Eating pork is against our religion So it was very unpleasant. They rectify it each and every time they make a mistake but I would hope a restaurant of this caliber would not make these careless sort of mistakes. Definitely love it there but hopefully they get better in this area.

I loved the food and the general atmosphere but the coffee was good

The Hart House is a great place to dine but it will be better when the virus is not causing problems. It seems strange with the isolation and the staff all wearing masks.

week end brunch is not to be missed always one or two specials, daughter had crab/avacado beanie I had breakfast meal both excellent had a side of pork belly that was nice and crispy, have eaten the brunch a few times and will be back

It was our first time at Hart House. As new residents to BC from Ontario we couldn't have asked for a bette dining experience! Took my Dad for his 78th birthday and he absolutely loved it!!

Excellent restaurant who is spacious and adheres to covid guidelines. Food and service are great. When weather is warmer there's a lovely patio. Lovely view.

Staff were lovely, giving us a tour of the historic building. We look forward to returning when visiting Burnaby again.

Excellent despite the PHO restrictions. Staff are absolutely fantastic and friendly.

They had an appy of clams and mussels for $22
I asked for a bit of pasta with it
They said they would have to halve the amount of seafood yet they turned around and charged $35 for it

Hart House does a fantastic job taking care of guests. In this day of social distancing they really make sure patrons are safely set apart. The food is great. This place is a wonderful neighbourhood establishment.

This was our first Christmas Dinner at the Hart House and an experience worth turning into a tradition. Thank you Hart House.

Very disappointing Christmas Eve dinner! Food was very low quality. We’ve dined many times at Hart House and found the food to be inconsistent. Will not be back.

We went for our Christmas celebration on Christmas Eve. I was disappointed in myself for not specifying that I wanted to be seated downstairs - it is difficult for my mom to navigate a long staircase and the decor upstairs is not as elegant.
I think for Christmas the decorations could have been nicer in the dining room - maybe more twinkle lights around the windows, and a better room centrepiece (it was just a plain table with a large poinsettia) since the tables had to be sparsely decorated due to Covid restrictions. But then it may be hard for restaurants to make the investment in more decorations right now.
However the Hart House has the most inviting entrance area with the beautiful Christmas tree and fireplace. The staff were all very warm and attentive - the tables were very nicely spaced to allow for private conversation and a feeling of safety in the pandemic.
The food was AMAZING!!!! For me the atmosphere of a restaurant is most important, but for my parents it is the food taste. And they are very hard to please - I was a little anxious as I had selected the restaurant for our celebration, and if they didn't like it my mom would get critical and crass and my dad would make sarcastic comments. But they were soooo happy and impressed that mom asked me the next day about general availability at the restaurant and wants to return for her birthday in January. As a feather in my cap, my dad was very pleased with the wine the waitress brought him with his very vague description of what he felt like.

Hart House never disappoint! Food is always superb as is service. We are always there for special occasions

Birthday dinner, everything was spot on - the Hart House never disappoints!!

It was a very good experience last month so i took my kids and husband to celebrate Christmas yesterday. It was a horrible dinner. Not sure if the chef is not in a good mood or what. The duck leg was so salty that can’t eat at all. The Angus beef burger was so dry and the bun hadn’t even heat up. My son’s entree was totally missed (and we were celebrating his birthday as well 🙁). The server was so busy running with 5 tables coming at the same time which never happens in fine dining before. Not a pleasant experience at all.

The steelhead was cooked perfectly . Meal was delicious .

This is our favorite dining spot for special occasions. We have tried numerous restaurants downtown, but they never live up to the hype. Great food, great environment, and good value.

We had the duck confit and beef tenderloin tonight. Dinner was amazing and a big thankyou to Erkan and Jennie! We will be back soon!

I took my mom for brunch. It was her first time there and she thoroughly enjoyed herself. Loved the food and ambiance. Definitely worth making this a favourite.

Don’t understand the noise level question. Is the smallest step for low noise level ( good) or for poorest quality of noise level (too noisy.)? Very ambiguous. I meant that it was lovely and quiet, just right.
