Good food and service. However, while sipping tea after our meal we were abruptly asked to move to a different table to accommodate a large party. The restaurant was only half full. Although we appreciated the need, it was disruptive and insulting . We should have been originally seated at a different table Doubt I will return Used to be a favorite spot ....
We had to ask the waiter at least three times for something. Completely inattentive.
I always enjoy eating at Henrietta's table... one issue that my wife and I have noticed over the years is that for some reason the plates/silverware smell as if incompletely or poorly washed, as if you can smell the last meal served on them.
Dinner was good last week. Yesterday returned for breakfast with less impressive plate.
Overeall still one of my favorites... needs a fresher smell and new menu items.
Food was very good not amazing. Don’t like that entrees come with no sides and you have to order extra. Bread was mediocre and chowder not very good. Service was great, very friendly
This place just doesn’t get it quite right. Spoiled by location (it’s the only spot for a power breakfast or lunch in the Square), the service is just ok and the food is just a hair less than delicious. The portions are small, the farm-to-table offerings are expensive, and the coffee is consistently bad. And yet I keep coming back, because there is really no alternative. Like a bright but underachieving student, I just wish they’d live up to their potential.
Probably my favorite Farm-to-Table restaurant in the Boston area.
All of the food was excellent and the service was very good
Had a great time - 3 of us friends since kindergarten and had our first baby within a month of each other and they were turning 50 so we brought them here for brunch - no husbands/wives & no children - just the three of us and the three of them (2 girls/1 boy) just how we were 50 years ago
Service was terrible. Took 20 minutes for waitress to come take our drink order so we ordered drinks and food at the same time. Our appetizers arrived before our drinks. Once the meal was done, took another 15 minutes to track down someone who would get our check and process it which took another 15 minutes. Maybe they were short staffed but the waiting was ridiculous.
Scrod serving size was on the small side. Pot roast was delicious. Service was a little slow.
Wonderful, rich food. Loved the cheese board and desserts especially, and could get enough of the amazing bread selection!
We were there for Sunday brunch and the creative offerings were a nice change from traditional brunch fare. It would have been nice to see the brunch pricing in advance. It was not listed on the breakfast menu.
Henrietta's Table is our favorite place for special gatherings. Our most recent visit (11/2) happened to be on Parents' Weekend so the service was slower and the noise level higherr then we are used to. However, the food was delicious as always!
The restaurant was very noisy. We couldn't hear each other.
Two dishes were not good.....the fish and the ribs. The quiche was good. My husband got sick from the ribs later in the pm. Service was friendly but very slow.
Years ago, Henrietta’s Table was a one of the first farm to table spots, and the meals were always delicious and beautifully presented. Had not been in years, so was disappointed with the quality of the lunch. Portions were large, more like a deli, service was spotty (not a busy time), if courteous. I doubt I will return. Even the bread was just OK. Hope it can bring its standards back.
Excellent daily specials and salads
Great crab cakes
Solid choices. Excellent mashed potatoes. Otherwise, the food seemed boring.
Too loud! There was too much noise
I have been coming to HT for many years but this was my last visit. The service was atrocious, from the drink we had at the bar (with a brusque and inattentive bartender) to the table service. We sat at the table for a good 10 minutes before flagging a waiter with a polite "excuse me," to which he replied brusquely, without stopping, "just a minute." He never returned to the table. Our waiter finally showed up, and served us, but we were already uncomfortable. We thought of leaving, and we should have. The food was not bad (pork chop and lamb shank) but the chicken liver paté was tasteless and the bread was stale. We flagged a waiter to ask for new bread, since our own waiter was missing in action, and although this new waiter, who was very nice, managed to get us fresh bread, the night was ruined by the failures of his colleagues and the clear lack of supervision at the restaurant. This place used to be a must-go-to for us when we came to Cambridge. Those days are over, sadly. Don't waste your money at HT. We will not return.
Mediocre food, incredibly noisy and drafty. Had to keep our overcoats and hats on all through dinner. Scrod overcooked and vegetable choices unimaginative and overcooked.
All the staff were friendly, welcoming, helpful with suggestions, prompt, but not pushy. Food was delicious. Noise level was higher than we liked it, but that seems to be a problem everywhere.
I was very disappointed in Henrietta’s table my pot roast meat was leathery mashed potatoes were watery and it came with no vegetables my daughters tofu taste it like refrigerator burn and it was over a pile of soggy cabbage I was visiting out of town and I have been to this restaurant years ago and the food was much better please step up your game
It’s Time. Visiting from N.C. Food was Delicious
Restaurant was too loud; food was below average; service was just average. We don' t plan to go back.
We’ve come to Henrietta’s table for more than 30 years when we visit HarvardSquare! Saturday did not disappoint, but it was very crowded and we were exhausted. Conversation wasn’t possible but the food was outstanding. Thanks so much!
Come for the pot roast, but everything was fabulous! Highly recommend!
I had anticipated going to Henrietta's Table but it turned out to be a disappointment. To start with, the table for two was very tight. We should have been seated at a larger table since many were available. To their credit, they offered many local beers on tap, but without any description, so it was hard to order one. The waitress talked me out of one of the seasonal cocktails so I ordered another and wish she had talked me out of that one too. Sides need to be ordered separately, but this was not explained either in the menu or by the wait staff. My companion and I both ordered fish and got plates with a slab of fish on them and nothing else. By then it was too late to order vegetables or other sides. The fish itself was ok, but I found the overall experience wanting.
We went to Henrietta’s for the Sunday brunch buffet. It was a wonderful experience. Our table was ready the moment we arrived, the lovely servers attentive and smiling and the food selection was really good. Is not a huge selection but most of the offerings were excellent.will definitively go back soon. Ahh the waffles, the waffles, yumm
The food and service were both excellent at Henrietta's Table. Portions were large and nicely presented. However I do think the dining room proper and its furnishings are overdue for top to bottom re-design.
The chef salad is outstanding and they serve delicious local bread
Delicious food, well-prepared.
Not sure. I’ve had better meals here in the past. I should have been more inquisitive. The ham sandwich was a greasy mess and I expected at least a piece of lettuce on the plate not a half giant pickle. Echoes of a Reuben sandwich but not nearly as good.
They didn’t tell us when we made the reservation that brunch was $55 per person. Food was ok, but long wait at the buffet.
Great food and service was terrific.
Very good healthy foods and service is fantastic. Walk around Harvard Square afterwords and enjoy the mixture of students and local cultural characters.
Met a colleague for dinner. Sat at the bar. They have fiddlehead ipa for VT which I really like. My colleague did too. We had dinner. The heirloom tomatoes salad was delicious! I had the yankee pot roast which was a tad dry but very tasty with a nice gravy and masked potatoes. Overall excellent meal but I’m also rating it against very good restraints with outstanding food which I reserve for five stars. The bar tenders were not very attentive. I would return and recommend to others.
Breakfast unremarkable. Heavy . Service excellent.
The food was delicious and there were plenty of vegan options.
Noise level TOO LOUD!! We had difficulty holding a conversation at a table for 3.
The food was great but our bartender, Al, was what made the visit worth it.
