    The reservation process was difficult, cumbersome, and confusing. Calling with questions does not seem to be an option. Better customer service on the front end of a reservation and visit is lacking.

    The venue is fantastic & a fun thing to do with visitors. We came on Sunday not realizing it was brunch all day. The choices & varieties were numerous but several of the dishes were cold. I had to return a few food items & the next batch wasn’t very hot either. The food servers were friendly & attentive. I’ve been there a couple other times not on Sunday & the menus foods are warm & delicious. You must make a reservation because it’s always crowded. Remember to allow extra time because you park at the bottom of mountain & take nice shuttle to the Resturant. If you get “Bill” as your driver you’re in for a treat. Enjoy!

    HW has the most beautiful distillery with stunning views and amazing food. We also had the opportunity to sample a flight of their archived whiskeys in the new tasting room. Totally worth the trip! We will be back!

    I had not been there for lunch before and just loved it. It was quiet, beautiful, and delicious. I had an emergency at home and had to leave quickly, and everyone could not have been kinder and more responsive. I will definitely be back.

    We've had great experiences here in the past, unfortunately not this time. Our family took our mom for her 72nd birthday and were ultimately disappointed. Server was nice but not communicative. We didn't know they closed 45 minutes after our reservation time and were rushed by the staff, not making for a pleasant and relaxing birthday lunch. They shouldn't let people make reservations for that time if they don't plan on making it a worthwhile and pleasant experience for them. If a selection from the small dessert menu isn't available, tell the table. Unfortunately, our mom's dessert pick was the one they were out of.

    Came for brunch. The food was all room temperature or colder. Not what you’d expect for $55 / person buffet. Drinks were great. We did complain and our waiter told us they got a late start so things weren’t up to par. The waiter took 1 of our buffets off, but honestly, I wish he took both off since we didn’t eat much. Room temperature egg yolks … ugh! I wish they’d go back to a la carte.

    Fabulous food, I mean: fabulous. As an Alaskan I'm very picky about salmon and it was juicy and perfectly prepared. The bean chili and soups were delicious, the fruit was fresh and ripe, the chocolate cake was rich and moist, the selection was widely varied, nothing was a disappointment except for somehow not having non-dairy milk for coffee. BUT. Where they fell down was service: the 20% auto-gratuity for small parties seemed to have dissuaded any effort on the part of the team. We were forgotten and had to flag people down several times, ran out of water, ran out of drinks with lengthy waits for offers to order more, and were there for brunch but nothing was explained in the welcome (e.g. is there a separate menu or just buffet? where do we get plates? etc.) That was quite disappointing.

    Nicely appointed restaurant with great views. Tables are appropriately spaced. Limited menu but great food. My husband ordered the burger and I had the trout which was delicious. Wait staff was attentive and we enjoyed the whiskey tasting flight following the tour.

    Very overpriced for what it is, especially the brunch! The food was very average for the cost and the fact that not a single drink was included added insult to injury. The cocktails and beer were also overpriced given how tiny they were. It is a shame as I really wanted to like the place but the prices were not at all reasonable for what you get.

    We went for the Sunday Brunch. Open table gave us 2:15 and this is very late and much of it had been sitting around too long. If you go go early. Not a lot of flavor or creativity. There are much better brunches for much less. The only reason to go would be the setting which at the end of August was very pleasant.

    The Refectory has changed their menu since our last visit in May 2022. Only three items from the previous menu were still listed. We felt adventurous and tried new items. They were disappointing. The grilled chicken sandwich had a very pungent cheese that overpowered the entire sandwich. I would not recommend anything but the Hash, theBurger, and the Mac and Cheese with Brisket... all three from the previous menu. And stick with and of the High West Whiskeys straight up. Nearly all of the new drinks are made with Gin. We go to The Refectory specifically to enjoy the wonderful whickey concoctions. But no more for now. The outdoor setting is still divine, so there is that. Service was mediocre. We have had better all around.

    Service was slow but pretty sure they were just understaffed. In fact, our server gave us a serious discount to make up for it, although we didn’t complain but figured others must have. Love this place and it’s ambiance - in summer (sit outside if you can) or winter (still gorgeous from the inside). I had the chicken sandwich and wasn’t a fan, but it wasn’t the fault of the kitchen, just a personal flavor choice that didn’t gel well with me. My friends loved their refractory burger and bison patty melt and the rosemary fries are awesome. Definitely make a reservation, you’ll be glad you did.

    I'd heard wonderful things about the Highwest Refectory brunch, but perhaps my expectations were too high. The service was slow and chaotic. The hostess was rude and the woman who showed us to our table was offensive when I asked for a different type of chair--the chairs are incredibly uncomfortable. There were far fewer items for the buffet than I expected, but the food was good. The location is gorgeous and would be lovely in the fall. If you visit the shop, make sure you get the right items. They won't let you take the bottles off the shelves yourself. I'd chosen some bourbon, was told to put it back, and the store clerk gave me the wrong bottle. It was unfortunate.
