Hiro 88 - Millard
Ordered a sushi roll that was 8$ they brought me out something I didn’t order and didn’t realize it u til after I started eating it and got the bill. They charged me for 13$ for the sushi I didn’t want. I asked for it to be fixed since that’s not what I ordered and they said there’s nothing they could do about it. The sesame chicken we got was great flavor and crispy but you do not get much chicken for 16.50.
Our waitress was fantastic! Great service from everyone and the food was delicious.
We had some super good sushi, and the wait staff was incredible. They made sure we were well-hydrated.
Love the all day happy hour on Sundays!
My five year old wanted Hiro 88 for his birthday celebration dinner. We were relieved it wasn’t a place where kids typically choose. We all love Hiro’s food. The sushi, appetizers, his fried rice and dessert were all outstanding. Happy hour drinks were awesome and the server made it all very enjoyable. Recommend this place highly!
They were out of the peppers…sad, and we were put at a tiny table. I know we are a table of two, but it is silly when the sushi play takes up the whole table.
Sushi was great, so was the wine.
We had an amazing dinner with a fun interactive waitress! Lots of drinks and good laughs.
This was my first time visiting Hiro 88 and I would absolutely recommend to family and friends. The food was delicious, service was top notch, and the menu was very reasonably priced. I will say, I was caught off guard by not having any utensils to eat my rice besides chopsticks (which unfortunately I’m not too familiar with) but it’s definitely not a deal breaker for me. I plan to revisit with my husband this week.
Staff is always friendly and courteous. Food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious, as always. We love Hiro 88
Monday night dinner including cocktails, wine and food were all top notch!
Night out with my kids and their friends
My wife and I had dinner with a couple of friends at the Hiro 88 Millard location recently. We had reservations and were seated promptly, upon our arrival. Everything went downhill from there.
Ordered our food no later than 640. By about 7, I was wondering if our food was coming up pretty soon. I understand the restaurant industry is facing staffing shortages; at the same time, this didn’t really appear to be the issue. Moreover, at least four different tables, some with parties larger than ours, arrived after we did. They received their food before we did. Our food finally arrived at 726.
My wife ordered the sweet chili crab rolls. She received Crab Rangoons. I’m certainly no food critic, nor do I ever complain about food quality. I eat just about everything put in front of me. But the food was bad. Like really bad. I would have preferred voicing these concerns to a manager, but no manager ever stopped by the table.
Server asked twice if we were ready for our check. Both times we said yes. Check never arrived. I eventually gave up and just said we need our check.
Check wasn’t right. At this point everyone was just ready to leave. Didn’t make a fuss.
Bad. Real bad.
We used our VIP membership and had a great meal and 1/2 price bottle of great wine!
Got right in but took a while for someone to give us any service. Prices were reasonable for the meals. Would go back for sure.
The menu was super basic, nothing really sounded delicious (basically every roll is fried or has crab mix, which is cheap and bland). The service was pretty terrible. I had to ask 3 people for a fork to eat my dinner, and I sat with an empty water and cocktail the entire dinner, despite me asking our waitress twice for more. It was an expensive meal for what it was, and we left hungry and unsatisfied. Will not be going back there again.
it was really nice. we were out of water for a solid 30 minutes. and the food took a while to arrive and the place was almost empty.
We’ve eaten here before and the food is always excellent. The Broccoli Shrimp and Yin’s chicken were excellent, as was the variety of sushi we had. Our only complaint was that there was some sort of accident with the dishwasher and our drinks were served in plastic cups. I don’t know if they didn’t have anybody that knows how to hand wash a glass, but the plastic really ruined the taste of the drinks. Our water was served in glass glasses, and I would’ve rather had the water in a plastic cup with a cocktail in a glass glass.
We have tried this location 3 times now and the service has not gotten any better. I'm all for second (or third) chances especially during COVID, knowing that places aren't fully staffed etc. However, the restaurant is bustling and did seem to be pretty well staffed as there was one person who was going around making sure water glasses were full; another person bussing tables consistently etc. Our food took over 45 minutes to get to us; had initially asked for extra ginger which we had to wait another 15 minutes for after asking three times (once to the manager who brough it right away, but asked the waitress twice - not including at time of order). We asked for a fork which took another 10 minutes and we had to ask the manager to get. (Afterwards, the waitress brought one). Hiro (especially the one on Maple) was our go to, but Blue is soon going to be the go to. We never have to wait that long for our food or any extra requests.
I think the problem is that they are prioritizing to go hours (especially during Happy Hour), when really they should be serving those in house first and letting the take out orders know there will be a wait. Just like when you are waiting on someone in person. You take care of that person first and if a phone call comes in, you ask them to hold or if you can call them back.
Three strikes and Hiro Millard is out.
Arrived for our reservation and they didn’t have a table for us and told us they would have to put us outside. Sat us directly in the glaring sun. Everything came very spread out and we never did get refills on our sodas and couldn't find our server to get a fork for my child. She ended up with cold food.
Great atmosphere, great food, service is outstanding, Nolan and Jess have waited on us and they are absolutely terrific. Professional, kind, attentive, and always willing to talk. Cost very reasonable as well.
Good sushi! We sat on the patio on a beautiful night…
Great, great wait-staff!!! We'll be back.
We partook on the all day Happy Hour on Memorial Day. Enjoyed great sushi and 1/2 price bottle of wine.
Made a reservation with open table like we had done before. It was an hour and 40 minutes from the time we made a reservation. We get to the restaurant and we're told no we didn't have a reserved table since we didn't make a reservation at least 2 hours in advance and we made it to soon before we arrived. That was the first time we heard that before..
Food was very mediocre.
Good food. I would like sushi options that were more to my taste, but they are delicious. Everyone was happy with their plate. We have been here multiple times. They always provide excellent service. Thumbs up.
Would have been nice if website said sunday mothers day happy hours differ from normal Sunday happy hours. Went there for mother's day happy hour dinner and was advised when trying to order there was no happy hour.
We enjoyed our 2nd dinner out in 14 months. We enjoyed cocktails, appetizer, dinner and a bottle of wine.
Sushi was not good or as expected. Had heard great things about Hiro88 from friends specifically related to sushi but my wife and I were disappointed.
Great food, better staff. You can’t out-sushi the Hiro.
Great food, great service!
We had a very nice server however I had to go ask for a fork to eat my food after I tried to ask another server that just kept walking past us. The peanut butter chicken I had was terrible the sauce didn’t even hardly taste like peanut butter it had a very sour like taste to it. I’ve been here once before and my food was really good the peanut butter chicken tasted 100% better. I would come back but won’t ever order the peanut butter chicken again. And when I made the reservation I didn’t ask to be seated in the bar area. And that’s the only place the hostess would seat us. I would of rather been in the dining area. Wasn’t please stop all with my visit this time.
Pretty good food, love the atmosphere. Waiter visited our table too often.
Great service--drinks and food were both phenomenal.
Made a reservation but we were still sat in the loud bar area at a drafty two person table by the door. Took forever for our server to notice us and our whole dining experience took over and hour and a half. The wait and the price wasn’t worth it.
The service was super slow. Forgot to bring out salads. Sat there for an hour before any food came out. I’m hoping this was a just a one off because if they do this again I won’t go back.
It was very busy but given the day that was expected it was good
Our reservation was at 5:15 and we were seated right away
We tried to order sushi and were told that it would be a hour to get it?
Isn’t sushi one of your big draws?
I understand it was Valentine’s Day and it was busy but they should be prepared
We had combination fried rice
We could have had that anywhere for a fraction of the price
Very disappointed and it will be a while before we try it again
NEVER GOING BACK TO MILLARD HIRO 88!
Really wanted sushi today so we went to Hiro 88. We reserved online using OpenTable. We got there were greeted waited a few minutes to have our table cleaned off. We were sat, the host told us about the QR code to bring up the menu online. We did that, looked at it (the all day happy hour menu of course, it’s Sunday!) We ordered, appetizers came quick had to wait a long while for the sushi which we weren’t upset about with it being Valentine’s Day) we finished and were ready to go, had my card out on the table. Bill came and 5 out of the 8 items ordered were priced at full price. I asked the server about it and she proceeds to tell us that they weren’t doing happy hour because it’s Valentine’s Day. I let her know I didn’t know that and she said there was a sign on the door and that the host should have told us. 1. We didn’t notice it because it’s taped to the door right behind the etched sign with their hours of operation on it.
2. The host did NOT tell us about that detail.
Talked to the manager and he made it seem as if it were MY fault for not seeing the sign. Very disappointed in the service and the sushi was subpar.
Over an hour wait for our food. Good service and good food. Not sure worth the wait though.
