Historic Revere Tavern
The food and service was beyond expectations. Kelly, our server, was both professional and personable. We will definitely return!
Wonderful and attentive staff. Outstanding appetizers of clams and tempura shrimp. We had awesome prime rib that melted in your mouth and pan seared scallops. Beautiful room. Lovely table. Highly recommended!
Everything was excellent, from the atmosphere, to the service to the food. Been there to eat many times and am never disappointed. Will definitely go many more times.
We felt lucky to find this historic gem on Open Table, while planning an overnight in the area. In fact, finding this led me to the adjacent hotel so it was perfect. Dining by the fireplace in a circa 1700’s house was just divine. Themed cocktails were fun. Food was good. Our only “complaint” was that the daily specials didn’t include a meat-free option as it was a Friday during Lent. We realized the online menu focused on beef and poultry but assumed that during Lent, they’d offer a fish special on Friday’s. Regardless, we enjoyed our dinner. Luckily for us, the hotel lobby breakfast buffet was relocated to the restaurant due to construction. Breakfast by the fireplace was a great way to jumpstart our day. If ever in the area again, we’d go back here to eat.
Excellent Birthday dinner celebration. Everyone loved their meal and desserts.
Food was excellent! Our waitress Bonnie is awesome! We will request her the next time we visit the tavern!
Our server was very good, attentive without overdoing it. The food was excellent, even the asparagus was cooked perfectly. We also felt the cost was very reasonable for the quantity and quality.
Wonderful dinner with my husband. Great service and amazing food. We felt it was economical for the quality and quantity of food also. Will for sure be back.
Excellent food and service, great atmosphere, charming ambience - would definitely recommend to all
Nice atmosphere and the food was good. Excellent service. I’d eat here again if in the area.
We have dined here at least four times in the last year and plan to return many times in the future . Service was great and food was fantastic .
We have been to the Revere Tavern and have never been disappointed. We love the colonial atmosphere and the great food.
Went for Valentine’s Day and the food was amazing. Our server was wonderful as well but they sat a table of children in the middle of the room and it was loud and unromantic.
Would have been nice if they were sat off the main room
My wife and I ate at the Historic Revere Tavern on February 15 for a Valentine's weekend celebration. We had a great experience.
We had a reservation, so when we arrived we were seated promptly. The server was very friendly and attentive. She brought our drinks quickly along with rolls.
I ordered prime rib and my wife ordered crab cakes. Both were delicious. My wife commented that the crab cakes were mostly crab and had very little filler. The prime rib was a good size and was cooked medium, just the way I ordered it. Our portions were large. My wife couldn't finish all of her's.
We would certainly return again.
Great service and great food! We got there a little early for our reservation and they were very accommodating .
Bonnie is an awesome server. She makes the experience so much better. Food is amazing!
Loved the restaurant atmosphere and the history of the building. But our experience was less than what we expected. The chicken in the chicken Chesapeake dish was tough and burned on the edge making it hard to chew. We had to ask for our bread rolls twice. The shrimp cocktail(3 shrimp, not deveined, was way overpriced and the shrimp were rubbery. I dropped my napkin mid service and a server picked it up but I never got another one. When i asked for another at desert I got a paper napkin. I realize it was Valentines Day weekend and the restaurant was very busy but this is unacceptable at the prices that were being charged.
Superb! This is our favorite Valentines Day restaurant hands down. See you next year.
It's a cool building, but there are apparently several doors & the one marked for entry doesn't actually take you to the host. There's a limited draft selection, I think maybe 5 beers? The food was good, but it was painfully slow. Fortunately, I allotted extra time before our event, but we were still rushed since it took about an hour to get our meals. I had the scallops, which were good. Portion size wasn't great, but the sides it came with were reasonable. The french onion soup was just OK. A little too rich for me. A friend had steak which he also said was good. His comment was that his only issue with this place was the speed.
If you're going to try this place out, make sure you give yourself at least 2 hours. We were there for an hour and 40 minutes.
I wouldn't recommend it without limitations. Not sure I'd return.
This was by far the best experience we have had at a restaurant!! The food, the service, the staff...ALL INCREDIBLE!! It was my birthday weekend and everyone, especially our server, Bonnie, made it extra special!! The prime rib and crab cakes were fantastic!! Can’t wait to go back!
Always great. Top shelf prime rib etc... Great server.
Thank you for your five star rating! I will pass along your comments to our Chef.
Friendly and efficient staff.
Thank you for your five star rating. We look forward to your next visit.
Quaint restaurant with good service. Food was excellent.
Thank you for your kind review. We look forward to your next visit.
My Chesapeake chicken was not cold but definitely not served hot.
We love this restaurant! It has great ambiance, food, and staff. We have been to Revere Tavern many times and have been happy with every visit. It’s a treat to come and have dinner and a drink here. Everything we have ever eaten here is great also.
I stay yes to the question for recommending the restaurant to a friend but was disappointed. One main reason is I noted why we were backing reservation with the open table app. I even added notes about my wife’s birthday and nothing was said or done special for my wife’s birthday. This is the second time this happened here over the past free years. My Wife’s food (Veal Parmigiana) was over cooked and we had to send it back. They also over cooked our mozzarella triangles and had very little sauce for it. And we both ordered sprite’s and they had a seltzer taste. They replaced the drinks once they replaced the empty container. So as you can see why I rates a 3 for our visit for all of these reasons. I will have to think twice about coming back.
Just a walk from the Best Western, and everything was lovely. Excellent foot and our waitress was very attentive. WE have been here before, and reservation is recommended. It is busy even on a Sunday evening.
Beautiful restaurant in a beautiful area. Took my family here for an after show dinner on Friday night. Had a table in front of a fireplace. Waitress was friendly and patient. Food was excellent and there was plenty of it. The whole experience was perfect. Would dine here again.
Rude staff and mediocre food.
Thank you for taking my call today. As I said on the phone, I was shocked by your review because we did our best to get you in and out in 45 minutes since you were running 45 minutes late on your reservation. Next team meeting I will address the staff about coming out of the door with trays. I wished you would have said something about your meal that night, I would have comped your chicken. I would love for you to give us another try when you have more time to enjoy the meal. Happy Holidays.
Everything was great except the chicken entree was overcooked. Difficult to cut and chew.
Our server, Bonnie, was excellent. As a matter fact, she saved the evening from being a disaster. Our meal was very good. We both had chicken...my wfie had almond encrusted and I had the chicken chesapeake...both were very good. The turtle soup was also outstanding. On the other hand, the host was very rude and certainly not customer friendly in any way. We arrived 15 minutes early and he refused to seat us until the exact time of our reservation even though the dining room was only half occupied. He said it wasnt fair to others....really. If we did not have a reservation I am certain we would have been seated immediately. We almost did not keep our reservation because of the attitude and demeanor of the host. Glad we did because our server and meal were excellent.
Amazing food! Amazing service! Will definitely come back again and again
Saw the show at Sight and Sound in the afternoon and were heading to the American Music Theater for the Christmas show the next day. We like to stay at the Best Western there as the facilities are good and the restaurant is both convenient and very good. We have done this numerous times.
The lovely historic building was decorated festively for the holidays! We were very impressed with the ambience, menu and service at The Historic Revere Tavern. We were seated in a cozy dining room with a working fireplace that provided a wonderful atmosphere. The menu had many different options to choose from, 2 of us chose the scallops while 1 selected the crab cake. We were all extremely pleased with our entrees. Our server, Miah, was very attentive and the manager also stopped by the table to see how we were enjoying our meals.
For dessert we chose to share a slice of cheesecake with raspberry sauce that was divine! There was a very large party seated near us and they were quite noisy but not obnoxious. We were all very pleasantly surprised with this restaurant and would definitely dine there again in the future.
wonderful place which makes for wonderful memories
Great place to meet and introduce an out of towner to a comfy place full of ambience and good food.
Waited 50 minutes for main course. Way too long. Steak was not edible. We asked for well done but It was so dry and hard the edges couldn’t be cut with a knife. The crab cake, soup and salad were good. Manager was nice enough to knock $25 from the bill. Won’t be going back again.
We enjoy dining here everytime we come to this area for a few daya getaway, and the food and atmosphere is always terrific. Sometimes we grab drinks and dinner at the bar and enjoy conversations that come easily from others at the bar in a warm and homey setting with great cocktails. Sitting in the dining area near the fireplace is special with a real sense of old world charm. This time I had a superb veal marsala, chockful of a variety of mushrooms in a delectable sauce. We’ll be back next year for our annual trip to Amish area and Revere is tops on our list for a great dining experience. And the bartenders are outstanding and make you feel like you’re a “local” which we love.
Great dinner, food was great, service was terrific.
Thank you for your five star rating. We look forward to your next visit!
When was the last time you had snapping turtle soup and crab cakes in a Tavern that opened in 1740? What a local treasure! The food and service were very good. As it was our first visit our server Miah was very patient in explaining some parts of the menu. If you're ever in Amish Country make this a must stop on your trip. We'll be back!
Thank you for such a kind review. We look forward to your next visit.
