Holborn Dining Room
Had the pork pie far to salty was told it was because of the ham hock which there is no mention of on the menu it says shoulder of pork that is not the best pie in london
Fantastic choice, beautiful setting (even if it’s raining) and delicious food.
Meant to go here for long time. Certainly looked the part, albeit the tables seemed…small. I wasn’t out of by the price, however I felt the food looked frankly small when it arrived. We had a scotch egg to start…ok but not remarkable and at £10 a go poor. Frankly I need two for what landed. I followed with lamb rump that was lacking in flavour. It was under pink, and the jus was actually a watery flavourless stick. There were no accompanying vegetables on either dish to speak of. We shared a rather small portion of fries on the side, allegedly truffle and Parmesan. I saw the cheese, no trace of truffle and I’ve done better chips in the oven. My friend had the chicken pie and I felt sorry for him. It was tiny, heavy on the tarragon. The place is great, the bar looks awesome etc. But why did the waiter keep leaning in, leaning on our chair? I felt he was after a threesome. The conciërge was pleasant but the waiting staff need to up their game. As does the menu. Sad to say it was unremarkable and I won’t be going back. It was all a bit….meh
Lovely setting with great staff who handled booking changes with great tact & understanding.
Initially sat outdoors, but moved indoors by the staff very promptly when heavy rain started. Outside were given paper menus but inside we should have used QR we link but no one told us! However staff were extremely pleasant and service good. We both had pies, which were excellent with some sides. Puddings are moderately large. Great facilities, food and staff. Will definitely go back in the future
Beautiful settings, but no service...the quickest part was receiving the bill which always says alot more than needed. Food was average..a chicken avocado salad with more mayo than anything else. Would return but only for drinks that I pour myself
We dined at the Macallan pop up restaurant in the courtyard of the Rosewood Hotel for lunch. Great fun and a unique experience. They made our anniversary very special and the service was friendly, relaxed and professional. The cocktails were exceptional, abs the glassware divine. Luckily we had beautiful weather too.
Whilst I can’t fault the food or the service they were both world class the atmosphere was lacking… With only 4 other tables occupied this stunning huge dining room was left wanting…. Look forward to returning when the world around us gets a little busier!!!
I’ve been wanting to dine here for a couple of years, we live in the North West so don’t get down to London that often plus the virus. Anyway we made it down for the weekend and it was everything I wanted it to be. We all had pies (why would you have anything else).😁 I will be back on my next London jaunt to try more of the menu. Thank you to the team for a fab experience.
Lovely meal. Food was amazing. I’d definitely recommend the mutton pie !
Wonderful drinks and the service was second to none.
Can’t wait to go back !
Lovely evening, beautiful decor and the food was good.
Excellent service in both the Holborn dinning room bar and at the outside table. Only complaint would be the very uncomfortable outside table and chairs, for a 5 star hotel I think they could have increased the budget and invested in better tables and chairs.
Very good evening apart from minor mix up over our mains.
A fabulous dining experience with delicious food and impeccable service.
Dining in the courtyard was very agreeable in the summer weather.
I had the scotch egg as a starter and it was delicious, my main course was lamb rump with potatoes and vegetables followed by banana bread desert with ice cream, overall the food was excellent and it was a very relaxed venue which I would recommend to anyone looking for a special venue to eat at.
Amazing time at the Holborn dining room. Such a beautiful venue and amazing gins
The food was very nice. Unfortunately we had to send both our main courses back as they were cold.
Charming, beautiful setting with amazing Michelin Star food at The Macallan Manor.
Our waiter was very attentive & enjoyed chatting with him. Everything about our experience was perfect & would highly recommend giving it a try!
We were allowed in with a big group although our booking was only for two people. However, the service was very slow and the drinks were very pricey.
Totally awesome in every way. Truly world beating pies!!
Great experience at the site with 3 guests and all 5 stars all the way.
Lovely venue and waitressing was superb. Was hoping for a slightly more extensive pie menu!
Wonderful venue and ambience!! Loved the pies!
Amazing food and excellent service. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
Lovely relaxing atmosphere, limited but good quality menu. Very attentive staff.
Very good service and good menu. Great choice of drinks too.
Lovely atmosphere. Friendly staff. Great food & drink. Can recommend the strawberry & champagne jelly dessert!
Absolutely love it!Fantastic food, amazing service and beautiful selection of wines! Francesca, the sommelier, was very helpful and attentive! Will definitely come back!
Good food. Good service. All at reasonable prices - enjoy
Amazing food and service in beautiful surroundings. What’s not to like?
Excellent venue and fun place to eat with very attentative service throughout the evening.
Sometimes service was overly attentive - topping up an already full glass of wine; other times it was terribly absent.
We took our 3 boys; 8, 5 and 1 for lunch, their every need was accommodated for. Fab food and superb service. We will be going back!
We had around 4 separate servers we interacted with and all of them were utterly delightful, charming and friendly. It was booked as an anniversary and birthday meal and was supposed to be in the terrace. The weather was pretty dreary so they moved us inside, which initially I was a bit disappointed (about the weather not them) but it was such a lovely atmosphere and a beautiful room. The food was amazing. The bread was out of this world and the scotch egg starter I could have stopped and gone home happy right there! Portion sizes were very reasonable for this type of restaurant and every element was cooked beautifully. We shared a pud coz we were pretty full and glad we did as that was also a good size, though not overwhelming I must add.
I treated my husband to one of their special whiskys and I'm so pleased I did as the service that went with it was also top notch.
It was the perfect way to celebrate and just a glorious return to a restaurant after such a crazy year.
Set within the beautiful Rosewood hotel, the dining room transports you to a world of elegance and old fashioned charm. The decor immediately makes you feel like a VIP as well as the greeting and service you get. Yesterday the restaurant was quite busy and it was wonderful to see a world that was a little glimpse of what it was like pre pandemic and what I hope the world will be shortly again. We all went for one of the pies as this is the speciality and boy did they not let us down with that! You must have it with the truffle fries. Drinks were fantastic too - started with champagne and then on to a wonderful white wine. My only negative feedback would be a) there was quite a delay getting our first drink and b) the sharing platter of meats to start had a tiny pot of chutney and a small amount of wafer thin bread. Apart from that no issues and I’ll be back again and again
Excellent food, good service and loved the setting
Good restaurant food is good
The place is peaceful, very nice location but the cars in the parking were noisy as they were all posh cars, very nice to look at but very noisy.
The service and staff was kind but the food wasn’t tasty at all, too oily and the steak wasn’t good! I would say that we were in a nice restaurant in the city. My friend and I were disappointed ☹️ especially because it was my bday so I was expecting to have a nice and tasty meal. I don’t mind to pay of the food is good but for the 120£ we spend only for bread, a glass of wine and a steak (no dessert, coffee, bottle, starter) it was expensive.
I would recommend it unfortunately but location is pretty
