A hidden gem on Restaurant Row!
Been a regular diner there for 12 years!
Never a had a bad experience!
A great dining experience on every level!
Great experience! Wonderful ambiance and service.
Lovely tavern, great service and the food was delish!
Welcoming staff and owner stopped by to chat and make sure we were happy.
Got us well-fed and quite happy before heading to see Westside Story and it turned out to be the last performance before Broadway shut down heeding COVID-19 warnings.
I recommend the Glass Tavern!
I would recommend dining on the first floor if possible. The stairs to the third floor are very steep and it got pretty warm in that dining room too.
Great service... Delicious food !!! When reading the combinations of ingredients on the menu, you wouldn’t think it would work. But ever flavor was so good. The ambiance was just too dark for me. I would still eat there again
Salmon, quinoa, and broccoli dish was delicious service was excellent and friiendly. This is my go-to restaurant when I'm in the neighborhood.
Our go-to pre theater spot. Always a great meal.
Always a pleasure. The food is so good and the staff is friendly and efficient. We’ll be back.
Wonderful waiter, excellent food, great service. Would recommend beet salad, lobster stuffed ravioli.
Food was really good and came out quick. Our server was really good and very attentive without being invasive.
Charming! Noisy crowd that night. Otherwise a fun NY experience.
Good pre-theater dinner! I had the grilled chicken—better than average. Daughter had the crab cakes—excellent. Very attentive waitress, and delicious chocolate lava cake.
Everything was great but the food was just ok. My pasta was over cooked. And the broccoli and rice that came with the tilapia was absolutely plain
I'd give more Stars but I'm still freaked out that I ate at a place that has a 'C' grade by the NYC Board of Health. Next time, I will check before I dine.
Super quick service without feeling rushed. Seated us on time an had us out in plenty of time for our show. Drinks were yummy and food was great. Would definitely eat there again.
Very friendly service. Excellent pre-theater dinner. Prix fixe is a great deal as well. Feels like a home cooked meal.
Prices were very reasonable! Down home vibes . Waiter and owner were very sweet, brought a dessert to our table for our anniversary!!! Very small ,reservations are a must!!!!!
Convenient to theaters. Prize Fixe is very reasonable and food is very good. Bad coffee though.
Great sneaky spot for pre-theatre dinner. Our waitress was superb
Small place; great food; friendly service providers; reasonably priced; fast service; servers were very informative. I would definitely recommend Hourglass Tavern
On a street where virtually everthing is a food establishment (Restaurant Row), this is the most overlooked restaurant on the block -- possibly because you blink and you miss it as you go east on 46th Street from Ninth Avenue. It's just off the corner, a tiny little "hole in the wall" that also includes an upstairs bar, the Betty Bar. I finally decided to try it after the Taste of Times Square festival last year -- speaking to someone eating there outside, he convinced me that it was a must to eat there. So I did. The food here is outstanding. I had the veal chop this time -- transcendent. My friend had the tuna tartare, or charred tuna -- she offered a bite and it was fantastic. The bread.... a round piece of eggy bread with a buttery crust that is irresistable. I asked what this bread was called. "Bread!" I don't know if they make it or buy it, but it's amazing.
Our waitress stopped by perhaps just a little too often, and my friend found being called "Milady" many times to be a bit much. Still, the service was quite good. This was my third visit, and far from my last.
My daughter and I ate at the Hourglass Tavern on February 24th. We had their Prix Fixe dinner for $27 which included soup or salad, entree and dessert. I had the chicken soup which was delicious, with a variety of vegetables including mushrooms and greens. It had a rich broth and was very tasty. The homemade bread that was brought with the soup was wonderful. For the main course I had marinated chicken breast with broccoli and mashed potatoes. The whole plate was steaming when it arrived. Almost a whole head of broccoli, ample serving of homemade potatoes, and succulent chicken served with a mango sauce on the side. For dessert, there were two offerings - tira misu and mango mousse. I had the tiramisu and it was delicious. Maria our server was warm and attentive. A very good pre theater dinner in a quiet serene location close to the theater district.
We had the best waiter who gave my wise guy husband a run for his money. Prompt service, attention to detail, humor, and great food. I’ve been dinning at the Hour Glass for over twenty five years and I always come back. Thank you for always being consistent and yummy.
Servers, appetizers and entrees were very good. Dessert was awful. The blueberry pie looked and tasted like a packaged Hostess fruit pie you got as a kid!
My second time there. Disappointed they didn’t have any specials this time but the food was great ! Priced very reasonably !
We ate at the Bettibar upstairs. The dining room was very intimate. Food was excellent and our waitress was a joy. Great for a date night or dinner with a friend.
Really good food, great personal service and reasonably priced. Great location near times Square
This was our first time here and loved it! We will definitely be adding Hourglass Tavern to our usual NYC stops!
Great to go during the week or a Saturday night....do not go on a Sunday night...they are overwhelmed
Cozy, great food, service, ambiance. Pre theater meal.
Great food great value for food. Cool place
