Hunter Steakhouse - Mission Valley

Excellent prime rib & salmon! The server was lovely. We had to be in a tent on the asphalt due to covid restrictions, so not the usual cozy atmosphere, but considering the current situation we were impressed!

As reviews say steak NOT top grade, but decent.
My Porterhouse big & pretty thin (so cheaper than RC or MS or FS or others), mild seasoning maybe a tad too much mild.
My wife LOVED her Ribeye.
All apps & salad & desserts yummy & splendid.
Lower price therefore explained.

Their current massive parking lot tent is 100% SEALED in the back, so NOT very Covid-safe I say...yes, I’m a Doc.
Having BOTH ends open with FRESH AIR circulating thru my rec & that of my Doc buddies...

The best part was that the plate was hot to keep the food warm because we ate outside.

After an online search we found Hunter and we are glad we did. Enjoyed a delicious meal, Ribeye was great! Very pleased with the whole experience.

The food was excellent and the portions good. The service was decent. The outdoor seating was a converted parking lot, but that was fine :) The steaks were flavorful and well cooked.

The food was fine, not great, same with the service. Appropriate serving techniques not apparent, due to Covid. Order taken to go did not include serving utensils as requested.

Hunter continue to have the very best Prime Rib in San Diego.

Filet mignon eas not very good and the drinks seem to have no alcohol in them

They have set up outside, or inside dining. We find the outside is perfect. Love the amazing service....like home away from home. The food....Yummy....never fails to be the best meal of the week.

The staff was friendly but way out of stock. Food came out cold.
Steak served with boiled seafood on the same plate. Yuck

What a fantastic evening!!!! I am one of those people who prefers good service and a nice ambiance over the food. Well, this place scored a ten on all levels!!! And, my dinner was delicious!!!!!!! Our server was awesome!!!! Everything about the evening was fantastic!!!!! Can’t wait to go back!!!

We had a great meal on the outdoor patio comfortably offering safe dining, superior food and friendly, accommodating service. Quality for a reasonable price. Great evening!

In all honesty, our steaks Filet and NY Strips were both overcooked and flavorless. Having worked in a five star steakhouse that severed USDA Prime Beef makes it difficult to eat steak of lower quality. Apx. 10% of all beef in the US is USDA Prime Beef. If you're looking for a coffee shop steakhouse, Hunter's is your kinda place. Be sure and insist that your steak is cooked right when ordering.

Its the pandemic...lower your standards. Overall, its the service that made the experience. The steaks were cooked as requested. The drinks were average. The portions were adequate for the price. The parking lot kinda sucked. I would go back.

One of my favorite places to eat in San Diego. Great food, value and venue. Highly recommended.

Good meat and potatoes steak house

It was our 7 year anniversary. Considering the pandemic and having to eat outside it turned out great. The Lamb Chops were amazing.

Several of the entrees were not very good, the baked potato was not good.. a little mushy. The filet was good. The parking lot was rough, and not well lit.

Excellent prime rib dinners and excellent service for a very reasonable price!

They have done a good job with adjusting to the outdoor dining required right now.
Good solid food at reasonable prices, for a steakhouse.
A good place to go for a casual dinner or a date night!

It was nice to sit outside. The food was good the drinks so so, I ordered a rum and coke and it tasted like just coke. The happy hour prices were nice. It took a minute for them to get to us, and although we werent without to long it would have been nice if we got checked on frequently. Our server was very nice and prmpt when we did ask for something. I did note it was an anniversary but no one asked if we were doing anything special nor did we get a desert to share. they did not acknowlege our special day at all, but I would go there again and again

The Service and food excellent. Had a good time, and couldn't expect any more from the parking lot due to COVID. We had a great time just getting out and again, food and service was excellent.

Honestly I think Lonestar or outback steakhouse would’ve had better flavored food. Too dark inside.

This steakhouse has excellent food and service. The drinks are good and reasonably priced - I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is search of good food and service.

It was very comfortable, followed social distancing rules & provided excellent food & service.

This was my first time to Hunter's. It's one of my best friends favorite restaurants so we went for dinner during my bachelorette weekend. I was very impressed with how they handled arriving guests and our current social distancing guidelines. We felt very comfortable. The ambiance and service was great. Overall the food was an 8 out of 10. My only complaint would be the broccoli was not cooked long enough and our complimentary dessert (the chocolate cake) was very dry. Other than that we did enjoy yourselves and will be returning in the future. Thank you for helping us celebrate my special weekend!

The food was outstanding but they were hardly any other diners there,, I don’t know how you can afford to stay open but sure hope you can

My filet mignon was very tender but lacked all the flavor I had to put 3 salt and pepper packets for flavor. My husband got a ribeye same thing. Waiter was attentive.

My son and I went there for Fathers day and it was a great call, excellent service and very clean. The food was excellent!!!

The server was great. The food was bland. The broccoli was cold. The mushrooms tasted like they were two years old. Nothing tasted fresh to me. Did not like. Would not go back.

I love the Hunter and was pleased to see they were seating customers again. The prime rib was not quite up to what I've received in the past from Hunter, but I can easily forgive that in such uncertain times. Overall it was a wonderful meal, as usual!

It was nice to be able to go out and sit down to eat. Our waiter was awesome and the food was delicious!!

First of all, we love this restaurant.

We had been waiting for a chance to dine in again and this was our first go at it. We made a reservation and were seated immediately. Our waiter was very good. We did not get the bread that is normally served. When we asked about the bread, we were told that the baker that makes it was not working as yet. We both wanted ribs for dinner but were told they only had one order left. No table-side salad. It was 5 pm on a Sunday. An early dinner in San Diego.
I am sure as things get back to normal the services (bread and salad) will be back on the menu. We will go back in maybe a month. But I will confirm before I go that they have these items (Ribs, salad, and bread). I can't fault the waiter that these were not available. I would recommend this place to all who like a good meal and a good atmosphere.

First night out since the reopening of California restaurants.

I the quality of the food and service we get every time we come to Hunter’s.

The banquet noise and traffic pattern of waiters past out table made the meal less than desirable.
