Il Baretto Wine Bar and Restaurant

Having had a bad experience last year and after the restaurant wrote me promising me an improved experience I decided to give them a chance. Reservation was made for 3 persons for 7.30. We arrived at 6.30 . We we seated in a tiny table as another bigger table was available but the hostess who is very rude said that it was reserved ! Finally they gave it to a couple . At 8.30 sharp while enjoying our desert a server brought the bill and told us we have to leave as the hostess told him that she needs the table! not even asking us if we would like a coffee or tea!!!!!!!!! For your info many tables were available at that time!! When I told them i had my original reservation at 7.30! Nothing could be done! No coffee no apology no nothing! With this pandemic when many restaurants are going bust you think that some deserve to go bust!!!

Usual high standard , food superb and service good in difficult circumstances

Great service and food. But I didn’t book a restaurant and spend £300 to sit at a table that was designed for drinks next to the bar, and deliveroo drivers leaving the door and letting in the freezing air. I should have refused the table as per another customer that walked in and requested to be seated downstairs in the Restaurant!

Best Italian in London! We come here for all our anniversaries, birthdays, and when friends are visiting they're charmed by the ambiance and delicious food and wine. Everything is consistent and served the same way each time, they don't mix up the menu or sell out of anything. We usually order the tomato pizza bread, parmigiana, lobster tagliolini, and the diavola pizza. I typically let the server pair the wine for us and am always satisfied. The service is great and everything is served quickly, but you won't be rushed out to turn the table either.

Love this place but felt the ambience great service great but food missed the spot a bit. Unfortunately the best thing was the garlic bread. Dont get me wrong all edible but £19.50 for papardrell with wild boar ragu that didnt wow I thought expensive. Wine list excellent and will definitely go back. Suppose when the bar has bee set high expectations follow.

Great as always

We booked online. That was fine. While i appreciate they may be suffering from 'lock down. There were only two people upstairs catering for an almost full restaurant both inside and outside. The music, while pleasant was too loud and not necessary. For the price charged, the cutlery was very substandard, paper napkins and no tablecloths. Compare this with 2 Veneti, Steca, or, La Famiglia which are no more expensive and which we frequent regularly. We would not recommend this restaurant.

Food was amazing but the customer service needs to be improved, split Prosecco on the table and on my friend with no apologises and just left the spillage there. Had to get another waiter to cover the spill with a napkin.

Our experience was beyond dreadful at Il Baretto. The staff were rude, stuck up, and appalling. We were the only people in the restaurant and had to call the staff over to ask for our wine and cutlery. Our reservation was at 12 and they informed us the kitchen wasn’t ready for 30 minutes. Our pasta came out undercooked. Total and complete joke. And the worst part was how the management handled it. I can hands down say I will never eat at this place again.

It was not the first time I've been to Il Baretto and it will not be the last. Knowledgeable and attentive staff. Food was great. Can certainly recommend the salt baked sea bass. nice ambience. Good to see it busy on a saturday night.

Very slow service and food quality has dropped from earlier. Not good value anymore.

Lost its buzz - everything poor, service surly, slow & rude.

Wonderful italian. The buratta is exceptional and the vitello tonnato is divine. Always fabulous good and a delight!

Excellent service and food, exquisite buratta with truffle followed by sea bass 1st shown to me boned then saw how brilliantly unboned by staff. Tiramisu sweet-dish superb as usual.

We had a fantastic dinner as always and it’s great to see all
the Covid protocol being so strict. We felt totally safe to enjoy our delicious dinner . Huge space between tables and a terrific atmosphere. Well done .,

My birthday

My risotto was extremely salty, the tuna mayo in the Vitelli tonnato tasted mostly of mayo. Tables around us were very loud and we were in the basement, didn’t feel like fine dining. I like this place better at lunch time

Rude arrogant short staffed

Excellent food and service. Classic Italian food done very well, and a very extensive wine list with some good value wines as well as some tempting if expensive ones!

There were very few diners for a Sunday night. The food was average compared to the usually better standard. The 40 ponds off helped but still pricey.

Food great...staff friendly....service good...just a shame about the COVID screens

Great food, and pleasant service (we all had tuna steak and salad), however, no source of carbs meant additional order of potatoes - total price for one course thus quite high (£25) - hence value rating. However, I have used before and will use again particularly for business.
