Il Fornaio - Woodland Hills
Il Fornaio is a chain restaurant in every sense of the word. It’s the same fried calamari that you can order anywhere. The service is well-meaning but constantly intrusive. The meal came out of some oven. You get it. It’s a chain Italian restaurant. If you’ve been to Carrabba’s, you’ve been to Il Fornaio.
Long wait to get table
Great food and ambiance. Nice servers who were friendly and accommodating.
Outstanding meal. Great service. Modern and bright setting.
The only critique! When you have a reservation and the rest is empty, you should seat the person right away
My Mare Chiaro was fine with good size shrimp and scallops but the items on my wife's Zuppa di Pesce were slightly undersized. The cooking for both dishes was great. Our expectations may have been too high.
Good food, great service, a little pricey, but overall, a very nice restaurant.
Great place to meet. Server was attentive, food was excellent.
Great Italian food at good prices!
The food was delicious, and the ambiance was was very nice. Our waiter was very attentive with excellent service.
We love this place. We drive from Santa Clarita to go about once a month to enjoy lunch or brunch and are never disappointed. The ambiance accompanied by the exceptional food makes it the ultimate destination for family dinning!
We were frankly disappointed. I don't eat pasta or pizza and most of the other choices just didn't appeal. The menu needs more variety. Even chicken piccata would have been nice. I ended up with a meh salad of roasted beets, goat cheese, raw walnuts and arugula. The dressing wasn't exciting either. I ordered a piece of salmon to accompany it for more protein. My husband had the seafood pasta which had plenty of pasta and not much seafood. The shrimp were mushy. The kitchen takes a long time for the orders, but they just weren't first quality. The gelato-- coffee, caramel chocolate crunch tasted like dulce de leche ice cream with minuscule chocolate chips. Not what we were expecting. The waiter was excellent!
The service was absolutely outstanding. Our waiter came over many times to ask if everything was okay, in addition to a manager and another person. My only complaint is they forgot to put a birthday candle in my guest’s desert as I had requested in both my online reservation and when I got to the restaurant.
We were celebrating my younger brother’s birthday. The restaurant is beautiful inside and out. Our server Gigi (hope I am spelling that right) was really kind, checked on us consistently, and had a great demeanor. The food was AMAZING. Our chicken was perfectly cooked, and our drinks were amazing. Would definitely come back here again.
Just ok. Fixed menu for Valentine's Day, which they didn't alert of on their website. Menu was limited, barely any vegetarian options. Had five different wines but only liked two. Too expensive.
Great service. Delicious food. And overall a very nice experience.
Great food. The specialty menu was especially delicious. We ordered quite an assortment of entrees and everyone loved what they ordered. And we created our own smorgasbord of desserts. Absolutely delectable. Service was amazing!
Yummy Food. We sat outside one of the warmers didn’t work. But the servers tried their best.
Best Italian restaurant in the valley for food, service, ambiance and value.
always enjoy eating at Il Fornaio - Woodland Hills .. great staff . a regular stop for us.
I thought food should be better for price
Hadn't been there in a long time and we felt like a nice sit down local dinner. Love the location and seating/decor. Waitress was lovely and attentive. Food was excellent (beet salads, tagliatelle, braised short ribs) prices very fair. I'd give it a higher rating but it is not quaint or quiet intimate it is loud and bustling so not quite what we were hoping for as a more often go to but sadly our other long time favorite family owned and run restaurants are all closed down. We will be back again soon and work thru the menu for sure.
Dad in town
The food and service were great! My husband and I are vegan and they easily customized the dishes we ordered to accommodate our vegan diet! We sat outside on the patio and the ambiance was magnificent.
We dine here about once a month. Usually the food is fine however sometimes - depending what dish you select - the chef seems to have bad nights. For instance my Gnocchi was very mushy this time and my partners seafood dish was bland and tasteless.
Sometimes I find the dishes a little too salty but in general the menu is excellent and the food is very good quality.
Good for a date night or family get-together.
Really beautiful surroundings but we would have preferred to sit outside next time where it's not quite as loud.
Dined at Il Fornaio during DineLA week. The deal was fantastic! Food was delicious, our waiter paid the perfect amount of attention, and the overall experience was memorable.
I had been to the restaurant in the past and really enjoyed it. I was thrilled to see that it was participating in DineLA so I made a reservation. It is always packed! I had their DineLA dinner which included a glass of wine, bruschetta as a starter, a salad, the oven-roasted chicken as my entree, and tiramisu for dessert. There were five options to choose from for the entree and two choices for the starter and appetizer. I thoroughly enjoyed both my meal and the price! I will definitely be back again.
Everything from our server, Gabrielle, to every dish was wonderful! Will be back soon!
The food was good, I felt that it has better thought. We will still go back.
I do like the food here a lot. I also enjoy the happy hour sometimes. But seriously, the only reason I keep going back to this location is because it's close. Otherwise never fails, service sucks!!!!
It doesn't matter who you end up with, apparently it's the way it works here. It took over 20 minutes to get a lemonade. I never got the second basket of bread and asked tow different servers for it.
Really disappointed as we had out of town guests and wanted to take them to an upper class Italian.
Food was good and presentation was fine. Staff seem to be very friendly, but service was horribly slow. I'm not sure if it was the waiter or his workload. He would disappear for long periods of time. We didn't receive our initial drink order for at least 30 minutes after it was ordered. Dinner took nearly 3 hrs, and if I would have been in a rush, I would've left. The restaurant itself was nice and comfortable, but I would hesitate to return because of my experience.
