Jack Astor's - London (North)

It was an enjoyable experience. Tried some new items that turned to be amazing. The Restaurant was fresh and clean. The staff was attentive and friendly.

The only issue was with the COVID screening outside. The person who is having you do it should be very familiar with it. It will help the customers who are having trouble getting it to work.

Would love it if Jack Astors would come out with half priced apps after 9PM.

Service was excellent as it normally is. Food was hot and very good although the flavour changed considerably.

I have a few go to meals at Jack Astor’s and we both had the Pad Thai last evening and it wasn’t as flavourful as it normally is. Something was definitely missing.

Otherwise no other complaints!

The hostess and server were both friendly and helpful. They were sensitive to the Covid 19 regulations. The food was really good. I’ve never had a better meal in a parking lot.

The food was excellent except for the kids hamburger. We didn’t know until later, granddaughter was too shy to speak up, but hamburger was burnt. We would have brought this to the attention of the server had we know. Also no mention of CAA or Scene points.

Wonderful service and always great food!

One of our entrées has to be recooked as it got burnt. The manager was excellent. He offered the guest a free starter and didn’t charge for the entrée for that guest. It was the right thing to do as the other guests at the table were almost finished by the time the one meal was recooked. We were impressed that the right thing was done to make up for the delay.

Food and service are always good. Noise level is extremely high. Made an open table reservation and people walking in off the street were settled before us. What’s the point of reservations? This was at the London North location.
The host staff had zero clue what was going on. 3-4 host staff still couldn’t get it right. Been a customer at that Jacks for 20 yrs. getting worse every time we go now. We’ll spend our money elsewhere.

Wonderful meal at Jack Astor's. My wife had miso salmon and I had the Fiesta Salad with chicken.

Way too loud music. Painfully loud dance music playing on overhead speakers. Multiple customers complained. One table left when waiter said “that’s just who we are”. OK for 1130pm bar crowd but not for 6pm when families come for dinner.

I wrote on my reservation that I was celebrating my Son in Laws 30th birthday, however I still had to tell someone or nothing would have been done. The whole surprise was kind of ruined because of it. I ended up ordering a separate dessert for him because the little brownie was pretty small for a dessert for a grown man. Not that I'm not grateful for the free gesture, it's just that we got our dessert and then he had to wait so I could ask the waitress for a bigger dessert. Seems petty I know, but it was his 30th and I was hoping it would have gone smoother than it did.
Also, this is the second time I'm writing about the noise level. The music selection is great but the volume is so loud we could barely hear ourselves talking. Difficult to have a conversation.
On a positive note , always, always enjoy the Beer and Cheddar soup. Always a must have.

Jack Astor's North London is by far one of the best and most consistent places we go to eat by far!

Food was served cold. Waited 30 min for a replacement. Dessert also took forever and served cold.

Our daughter was in Londond for her birthday and couldn’t come home for a celebration

There was a problem with our order. The steaks were not cooked as we ordered. The mixed up our two orders as well as the sauces. The waitress was quick to try and resolve the issue with the kitchen and had new steaks prepared and gave us our side dishes if we wanted to eat those. As we aired for new steaks we were offered complimentary apps or dessert. The rest of our family had finished their food when our steaks finally arrived. They were cooked exactly as we had ordered with the correct sauces. We ordered a pan bread which was on the house and our two steak dinners were also removed from the bill. As much as we were inconvenienced the staff handled it with professionalism and excellent service to keep us satisfied. Mistakes happen and I was very happy to see that the staff accepted it and fixed it with polite and exceptional service. Well done Jack Astor’s!

I frequent Jack Astors quite a bit but this particular last visit left an oddly poor taste in my mouth. Pun fully intended. Service was excellent and the food delicious as always. So you ask what's my problem? Well as we were about to leave, for some reason, the music volume was jacked up to Night club status. Why? I have no idea. What concerned me most was that no staff seemed to notice except for all the guests staring at each other perplexed as to what's going on. I did however approach a staff and mentioned that the volume is way too loud for a restaurant setting and she very politely said that she would go and speak to someone. Now, I was leaving so I did not stick around to see if it got any better but I hope it was just a glitch on the stereo system .

My uncle and I ordered the French Laundry with the specifications of cooked medium. When they arrived, his was medium well and mine was well done. Upon cooking me another steak, it was still only medium well. I have always enjoyed Jack Astor's North and have had minimal issues but in the few times I have tried the new steak menu, I have found that there was only one time when it was properly cooked.

We reserved by internet a booth by the windows in dinning room for our anniversary. When we arrived we were given a smaller booth in the bar (by the front windows). Air conditioning was very strong, we where cold so we were moved to another booth in bar. We should have asked for a dinning room booth and been more comfortable. The meal was very good for celebrating our 59th anniversary. I think when we reserve two days in advance the requested table reservation should have been honoured.

Thank you for the booth reservation and the excellent evening, including the free desert. Much appreciated. We both enjoy Jack Astors and have visiting frequently. Not on this visit, but frequently, we find the music a little hot to have a conversation over (not the type of music, it's fine). We've found this on the patio as well, especially sitting closer to the building. It's a happy medium for all, I understand but we have chosen to not visit some times for that reason. We haven't had a music issue in many other places so I'm not sure what is different about your location specifically. Outside of that, the service and food is excellent. Thank you.

it was the little things...great check in...service was prompt but went sideways from there...no offer of water...had to ask...didn't pick up we were in more leisurely type mode as we delayed ordering...appetizer came and less than halfway through...entrees arrived...prompted to have guacamole added which we did...was way too whipped...no texture...mentioned...was not removed from bill and thus was removed from tip...she was glad to see us vacate for next consumer.

Food was EXCELLENT and the service was fantastic. Glad we chose Jack Astor’s and will definitely go back.

I always enjoy eating at this location. I'm luck enough to get the same server each time and he's awesome, so personable, has good timing and fun.

The staff went above and beyond to ensure my daughter had a great birthday. They were polite, the service was quick and the food was delicious. While they are on the pricey side, their servings are very generous and we left with leftovers to last us for days.

Booth was requested. Got one for two people right beside the kitchen exit. My mom and I both almost got run over by staff when getting up to go to the restroom. Too high traffic of an area to have seating in my opinion. Especially when there’s 3 of them coming through at a time and there isn’t enough room. They’re right up against your table.

food was good and servers were good too. only problem was apps and entrees came entrees first. however apps were comped which was nice but always nicer to have them come prior to entrees.

You know that feeling when you decide to do something you shouldn't! Yeah, that feeling! Have not been in a Jack Astors for years, had a bad experience so stayed away, tonight we decided to give them another try. I ordered a milk shake along with my burger and my wife had the fish and chips. Her drink came out fast, my shake didn't, still didn't, and still waiting. Finally get my shake and it has a food skewer in it..... my wife drink has a straw, people around us all have straws, but I do! Along comes our food and I am dying to try my shake, ask the lady that delivered the food about how i was expected to drink the shake... some baloney comment about trying something environmentally friendly... not sure how one person not getting a straw will make a difference, finally have to spell it out and ask for a straw, too bad the shake was not worth the wait and frustration. Food was good, service was the pits. I guess we were right to avoid Jack Astors.

My son,grandson and I enjoyed dinner. We had excellent service from John our server. My grandson is 8 years old and he loves your restaurant because he always feels very welcome. We visit your establishment every 2 weeks on Sunday.

It was a surprisingly busy night given the freezing cold weather, so I'm glad we made a reservation. They were even serving free hot chocolate for our very short wait because of the cold outside, which was a nice gesture. Our server was very friendly and quick with our drinks. We kept it simple in terms of food (medium wings for me, chicken fingers for him, poutine for us to share) and it was very satisfying. They brought it out in the order we requested. I had never had someone toss my wings in sauce in front of me, and though I felt a little weird, it was kind of neat to see. It is definitely a crowded space when busy, but it was the perfect atmosphere to warm up in and we didn't feel cramped. Our table was tucked around the corner from the entrance, but you wouldn't know it. Overall very happy with the evening!

Jack Astor's never disappoints. Delicious burgers. Only thing is the music is always a bit too loud to not have to fight to be heard.
