Was quite loud. Food and service were as Wonderful as always
The Dover Sole was an excellent choice. Very tasty and professionally presented with tableside deboning. The side orders are great, especially the potatoes and the creamed spinach. I was disappointed however that for a Friday lunch the restaurant was out of Stone Crabs. This is their signature item.
Well, I guess I just have to come back and call ahead to make sure the claws are available.
Matt was a great service. They were very accommodating and the food was amazing!
When you want a great meal and great service, you know where to go!
First time there, great experience our waitress took care of us, was fun and helpful on what to order. All five us were pleased with the food we ordered. Would definitely return
Wife and I went to Joe's for our Anniversary. Got a nice pleasant surprise when we were served a couple of glasses of Champaign. If you are looking for a Seafood restaurant Joe's is the place to go in my opinion. I had the crab stuffed shrimp and my wife has the Scallops. Both meals were prepared perfectly. Shared the Cherry's Jubilee for desert and there was plenty of cherries to go round. Service was attentive and competent. We usually go to Joe's to celebrate Birthdays and our anniversary and we are never disappointed. A bit of moderate noise level (to be expected) but it beats the almost dead silence we experienced when we dined during the early part of the pandemic when restaurants were allowed to be open.
So good to be back. They never miss a beat - on anything - and that holds true!
Great service and delicious food.
Joe’s is consistently excellent in all categories. Our table had everything from fried chicken (outstanding) to salmon to steak. Servers are professional, knowledgeable, and efficient.
Key lime pie, sauté spinach and grilled seafood plater was great. We would prefer the stone crab claws to be served warm and not chilled.
We look forward to eating at Joe’s whenever we come into town. It had been a long time due to the pandemic.
The service is always great and that was consistent but the main reason we eat at Joe’s is for the stone crab. They did not have any stone crab on Monday night. Very disappointing to say the least. I ordered a lobster tail which was mediocre at best. I wish I would have ordered something different. My husband enjoyed his filet.
Hit or miss place. Lobster was good. Steak was horrible. Wedge Salad was great. Shrimp was over cooked. Sides were fine.
well organized old school 1950s style steak house with a Mad Man ambience
Thank you to the maitre d' for paying attention to our 46th anniversary on open table, we had a great table. Jose was a fantastic server. Great experience
Great service and excellent menu items of seafood and steaks. Large wine selection also.
Great place for special occasions, treating clients, or for no reason at all.
My waiter was Sean who did a great job.
Packed restaurant but seated on time.
Perfect service from Denise - attention level was spot-on.
Food excellent, but always is.
We celebrated our anniversary last night. Everything from the wait staff to the food was amazing. We love coming to Joe’s..
everything was great
I travel a lot for business and pleasure and this is one of my favorite restaurants in the US.
We always have a great time at Joe’s. We had a wonderful server, Denise. Unfortunately, there were 3 very loud men at table next to us, dropping F bombs etc. These are challenging situations for restaurants and we felt bad for how disrespectful they were of server and restaurant vs being grateful that the best restaurant in Chicago survived the pandemic and acting accordingly.
Knowledgeable staff, courteous and attentive. Did not need to ask for anything. Food was amazing, oysters in the half shell, filet, aged dry rubbed bone in rib eye, lobster tail. Amazing selection of wines at various price points. Will definitely go back again.
Unbelievable! Great place!
Waiter and service was amazing!
Will go back!
It’s overrated . Steak was fine nothing special, oysters were great selections of types but I’ve had better . Service was good place had a buzz but wouldn’t rush back
I love Joes! They always do a great job and the service is second to none! Thanks for another great meal.
Our server and the somm were great. The apps were yummy as well as the sides, but the porterhouse wasn’t spectacular. Good, but not great for the $$. I would still recommend for a special night.
Very professional staff. Informative. Only thing the feature descriptions a little lengthy.
Couldn’t have had a better experience. Our waiter, David, was absolutely excellent. The food was 10/10.
The staff was amazing . The food was amazing . Definitely worth coming back and worth every penny too.
Joe’s never disappoints.
We loved our waiter and the som! Was our first visit and will definitely be back. The whale was 100% worth getting.
Servicio de David muy bien. La comida muy buen sabor y calidad.
Delicious lobster Mac and cheese
David was a great server. I would definitely go back.
I took an important client to this restaurant and while the food was good there were several problems. I wanted to talk to the sommelier because the waiter was not not familiar with the wines we were trying to decide between. First I was told he would be with us in a moment, five minutes later I was told he was going to be getting on the phone shortly and had no time for helping on $200 bottles nor was anyone else familiar with the wines I was considering. They where Beaucastle (white) and E. Guigle Condrieu Doraine .
I decided to try the Condrieu. A while later they brought the wrong wine, and then finally the correct one.
They did not get our order for food correctly and after we mentioned the missing items they were never delivered nor did anyone check back before we finished what we were served. After we finished our meal they offered to serve the missing items.
" I know you wanted mayonnaise with your sandwich, I see your done eating now but would you still like some? I see you did not eat your avocados, oh that's right you did not want avocados. Should I wrap them for you?" Do you want some mayonnaise to go?
Seems to me when you spend more than $125 per person for lunch, they cannot help you with wine , they cannot get the orders correct, nor does the waiter check back except to say " oh sorry we can give you what you ordered multiple times but not with your meal but can take some home".
No offer to take anything off the bill or an acknowledgment by management of the screwups.
