Knoxie's Table at The Inn at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club
Fabulous food with friends and wonderful service.
While the food is good it is not outstanding and the prices are unreasonably high
I was disappointed that the dining room staff felt the need to turn up all the lights shortly before 10:00 PM on a Saturday night. I assume they were encouraging our party of 7 to leave.
Thank you for dining at Knoxie’s Table. We appreciate your feedback. We take a lot of pride in our cuisine and hope all of our customers will love every bite. Our prices are aligned with similar restaurants in the area and reflect the high quality ingredients we use in our dishes. While we welcome you to enjoy the lounge areas at The Inn for as long as you please, Knoxie’s Table does close at 10 p.m. on Saturday. We hope you will return to Knoxie’s Table so we can earn those other two stars!
Fish good. Biscuits good. Drinks good. Service good. A bit noisy. Cost $$$. Dependable.
Thank you for dining at Knoxie’s Table. While we do our best to keep the noise at a moderate level, Knoxie’s can become quite busy. We hope you will dine with us at Knoxie’s again soon so we can earn that fifth star!
Great place for dinner. Can’t wait to try the outdoor seating in warmer weather
Thank you for dining at Knoxie’s Table. We look forward to welcoming you back in warmer weather. We look forward to seeing you at Knoxie’s again soon!
Great brunch, service was wonderful. Highly recommend!
Thank you for recommending Knoxie’s Table! We are thrilled that you enjoyed brunch and the service. We will share your kind words with our staff. We hope to welcome you back again soon!
Great atmosphere, great food, and great service! Loved it!
Excellent service and quality food. The setting is perfect for a party of two and/or a party of twelve. This was our first time and really enjoyed it. We’ll be back!!!!
A little disappointed in the food...too much breading on the calamari, tater tots were mushy, not crisp, wife was disappointed in the cheese spread, biscuits a bit dry, shrimp and grits not as good as previous and the Chicken Milanese was slightly dry and over cooked. Friend had the Salmon and he was pleased. We’ve decided to take a break from Knoxies and hope you get your act back together.
Server Ashley was OUTSTANDING!
Food is great! Homemade pies & ice cream are amazing! We ate outside on a beautiful night! Service has been wonderful both times that we have been here! Highly recommend a visit!
Tried it on a whim. Always great to cross the bridge after Labor Day. Great atmosphere. Outstanding crab cakes. Nice inexpensive wine list. Try the fried green tomatoes and the watermelon /tomato salad.
Good food, great Inn. We are dinner & breakfast and enjoyed both!
Lovely Sunday brunch on the patio. First time here and we’ll definitely be back.
We love Knoxie’s! The food is first rate, the desserts are incredible and the service is outstanding!
Chose to eat on veranda. Very nice setting. Our server(Nancy) was professional & helpful. Our second time there. Not disappointed.
I like the varied menu and everything is delicious. I feel it is a bit too pricey! Limits my visits there because of this.
It was locals’ night and the meal was outstanding. I had a crab cake and vegetable crab soup and was not disappointed! Sat outside and the ambiance was very nice.
We love it here! From the ambiance, to the food, and great service, this place has it all for every occasion! Perfect for a date night, celebration, girls night out, or dinner with the kids. Our whole family enjoys it every time we go!
Knoxie’s Table was so accommodating of my requests while I was planning a surprise baby shower for my friend. The table was perfect (corner booth), the wait staff was attentive, and the Prosecco was ready when we came :)
I am so thankful that they provided us with such great service.
Recommend Knoxie's BUT beware. I will say the food was wonderful. Our party of five enjoyed the flatbread appetizer which came out very quickly. But then we had to wait 45 minutes for our entrees. The restaurant was busy but not unreasonably so. I just got the sense they were short staffed and I noticed our server was waiting on us but kept going outside to wait on tables out there as well. Just getting drink refills proved to be in the hard pile. When they did arrive, our meals were all delicious ranging from the crab cakes to fish and chips to the pork chop and filet mignon. All prepared very well. But then we had to wait again for dessert which turned out to be a highlight. Recommend the coconut cream pie and berry pie too. We will return and I am hoping they will have gotten their act together on the service side of things.
All around AWESOME visit. Food was GREAT, Staff VERY FRIENDLY.
Server Quinn was wonderful. I came to celebrate my husband 41st birthday. We order the French toast togo, my husband said it was really good along with crab omelette. We order french toast for our daughter. But when I got home 3hours 24 minutes and 181 miles away. I didn’t have my side of bacon in my togo container. He love being surprised with candle in apple pie and love love the mango sorbet. Overall experience was worth drive just wasn’t happy my togo wasn’t complete. I will be back to get whole experience to say in the hotel and visit restaurant.
We requested a “quiet” table, as it is difficult for my husband to hear due to hearing loss. We were seated next to a table of 6 women who were “celebrating” so it would have been preferable to have a corner booth. Service and food were very good.
Very impressed. Calamari was close to the best I’ve had in a long time. Will be back again soon, by boat the next time!
Soup , crab cakes and veggies were outstanding! They should ditch the mashed potatoes though
Atmosphere outside was really lovely and festive
Would highly recommend and definitely return
Excellent meal and service. Scallops and risotto were perfect. Terrfic crabcakes. Pricey but delicious
Very nice ambience, good food. Went there for Sunday Brunch and there were only 6-7 tables with customers but it took 45 minutes to get breakfast food to the table. Took over 10 minutes just to get iced tea. Female server came back to the table once during the hour and 15 minutes. Pretty obvious that this place survives bad service because it's main source of revenue is from functions. Would never survive as a stand alone restaurant.
I recommend assuming they will get their service problems sorted, which was terrible from start to finish. There were only four tables seated inside when we arrived for our 12:30 reservation, and rather than seat us in one of the comfy, private upholstered booths, the hostess chose to put us at a line of closely positioned tables with hard wood chairs. She did allow us to reseat ourselves and I will give the benefit of the doubt that the move is why we did not get a server. After a long wait spent making hopeful eye contact with passing staff, we finally asked a busser to send someone over. Nancy arrived shortly thereafter and took our drink and appetizer order. The fact that the hot appetizers arrived at about the same time as the drinks tell you how things were going at the bar.
The calamari was very good and creatively prepared. The crab dip listed three other ingredients. The only one not in abundance was the crab. Drinks and appetizers were long finished without sight of our server. We again dispatched the busser to assist. We ordered another round of drinks and learned why the first Kir Royals were so extremely pale, when Nancy returned to apologize for the bar being out of Chambord. Seemingly trivial, but Kir Royals cost significantly more because of the liqueur (which should be Creme de Cassis and not Chambord, but that is a different issue) and it was an annoyance that the bar stretched the proportion beyond reason. The food arrived in a timely manner. The shrimp and grits were the table's favorite. The crab cakes looked very nice, and were consumed with neither compliment nor complaint. Our server returned immediately after the food arrived, but did not come back during the meal, leaving us to get up to ask for Tabasco and more water. Dessert was a high point. The pies were delicious and Knoxie's is one of the few places where I have seen a so-called Smith Island cake that looks like those made on Smith Island.
Fantastic food in an unhurried atmosphere. We had a wonderful brunch relaxing on the couches outside.
Really nice spot. Service was great and the food was unique and fun. Outside area is terrific in the summer.
We were on a vacation and wanted a romantic dinner in a beautiful place. This was a fantastic place and our server,Theresa (sp) was awesome.
Knoxies never disappoints with their food and their atmosphere! We had the brunch and the crab benedict was delicious! My daughters love the waffles with fresh berries and their chicken fingers (and so do the adults)!
Went to Knoxie's Table for dinner on Saturday, August 3rd. The ambiance is fantastic. It's laid out very nicely in beachy tones. The food was very good. Three of us had crab cakes and one had the filet. (I do think the crab cakes at Bridges and The Point are better though.) Our server was very good and the menu has something for everyone.
All in all, a nice outing.
Great place - been there numerous times ... we come by boat from Annapolis. Staff never disappoints and food is excellent.
The restaurant was very nicely decorated and clean. The food was average, nothing special.
The service and food was outstanding! Great local seafood. Casual atmosphere but very classy. Highly recommend.
Normally a restaurant attached to the hotel/inn is not that good. Knoxie's food was better than some of the other local restaurants noted for their scenery/views by the water. The bread, cream of crab soup, unique salad, shrimp and grits, waffles were all yummy. I wished we had Ms. Kelly (the chef) in the Northern Virginia area, I'd visit her restaurant.
We've been here several times but never sat out on the patio before. It was lovely. Enjoyed a LARGE...so called mini wedge salad. 2 large pieces of bacon on top that were delicious. My husband had the cream of crab soup that I quote "one of the best crab soups ever"!. I had the scallops with mushrooms and corn risotto...need I say more. I believe there were 6 very large perfectly seated scallops on top. Brought some of my dinner home. My husband had petite filet with lump crab with a sauce and his steak was cooked to a perfect medium. The garlic mashed...were a bit much....flavored heavily with garlic but all in all good !! No room for dessert. But there was a fire pit behind the patio and the waitress said we could enjoy the rest of our wine by the fire...what a nice way to end an evening . She even suggested walking through the chef's garden of vegetables and herbs grown right there on the property next to the fire pit!! Wow, that garden was beautiful and I enjoyed sauntering around and looking at and smelling the herbs. So yes I would highly recommend. Fairly expensive but everything we ate was spot on!!
Second visit in a month and ordered the same dish both times (Shrimp & Grits) much better the first time must have been a different Chef. But server was much better the second time!! Got a feeling this place is hot & cold. think we will give it six or eight months before going back..
Frequent guests. Food was great. Ambiance is great. However, our service was terrible this time. I forget the waitresses name but she was rude & uninterested.
The menu was appealing and delivered exactly as described. Stephanie our server was knowledgeable and attentive.
