It was a wonderful experience for all.
We will most certainly be back.
Great service from the minute we walked in the door from the hostess, bar tender and our server. We will be back.
Another great brunch experience at The Krebs. Food is awesome and the staff most welcoming and attentive. The restaurant is a pleasure to visit.
Really good food
food was great, drinks were also great, everything came out so quick and the staff was awesome
We looked forward to returning to The Krebs after 46 years, when we had visited during our honeymoon. We found the new open decor pleasing. The staff was exceptionally efficient and eager to please the customer. All good so far. But the food for one of us was a huge disappointment. My wife’s pork chops were good. My duck was tough and hard to cut and chew, and the duck skin was essentially uncooked. A guest at our Inn indicated that the prior chef had left due to insufficient numbers of staff to help - here-say but consistent. There was an enormously extensive, and expensive wine list, with no sommelier (there once were two) nor was there anyone else still with the restaurant to help with the list. Overall, regrettably, we will not return.
Good food and service. Some rooms were better than others.
In these difficult times to hold recruit staff, they have done a great job. The wife of the owner was there also bravo!!
Great food in a beautiful yet relaxed atmosphere - very special place!
Great staff, we’ve had the pleasure of dining here many times. It’s the finest cuisine North of NYC. Period.
Brought my wife her for her birthday dinner. Also brought two young children and the entire experience was amazing! Wait staff, food, environment was perfect for a young family or a fancy night out. That's hard to do and they did it well!
Excellent service in a lovely room. Anyone dining there, or having a drink at the bar, would feel like a guest in the truest sense of the word.
The food is superlative, and our waiter, C. went out of his way to ensure that we had a great meal. He was attentive and engaging without being overly solicitous.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable experience from start to finish.
What a wonderful why to celebrate our anniversary with close friends. Every aspect was just delightful.
Delicious food and excellent service.
Fantastic service! Attentive and engaging. The food was amazing! Cocktails here are a must. I’ve never had a hickory smoked old fashioned with actual fire and smoke prepared at the table before. Highly recommend!
We really enjoyed our anniversary dinner. The food was excellent and service wonderful. Really glad we chose The Kreb’s for our anniversary!
Outstanding fine dining. There were three of us for a birthday dinner. We started with perfect traditional martinis and the octopus and calamari cold salad. We also enjoyed a Burrata appetizer. We shared a Tomahawk steak. It was prepared medium rare and was delicious. We ended with a chocolate torte, with “ Happy Birthday” inscribed in chocolate on the plate.
The service was excellent! Thank you to our hostess, servers and sommelier.
Having had a negative experience last time, I wanted to give my beloved Krebs another shot before dropping it off the list of Skaneateles go-tos. Service was sweet, but slow. We sat with our menus for 45 minutes while our wine was being brought up, followed by a plate of stale bread. We ordered burgers, curious about the cheapest entree, and had heard good things.
My rare burger came well done, and while I seldom send back a plate, I figured I wanted it right in such a setting. The second burger was raw. Pink and white, cold, and sticky. I have eaten a lot of burgers in a lot of places, but that was new.
We were offered free dessert. It is not for lack of trying, COVID has put a terrible pressure on the industry. But I cannot give my money to somewhere that serves two inedible burgers at that price tag and a two hour sit.
A lovely venue, but they are feeling the labor shortage. We arrived for our 7:30 reservation and had to wait in the bar for15-20 min, which was fine, as our bartender made a great Cosmo. They have a voluminous wine list, but sadly was out of stock for our 1st choice and several alternatives we tried for. So we stuck with cocktails.
Sadly, while the food was good, with very generous portions, it was so late (9:20) by the time we were served, we left much of it behind. I just can’t eat that late. A bright spot was our server, Conner, who was friendly, attentive & professional. Cannot fault him at all for our experience. All that being said, we will try them again when things have settled a bit.
Great food but seemed like the service was not functioning at 100%. Seated after a 15-minute wait. Water was brought to the table but the server disappeared for 15 minutes. I ordered cocktails but they were delivered after the appetizer arrived. I think if they were short-staffed it would be better if they tell you upfront about it.
The food, the service, the decor were all stellar. Fantastic experience. All provided by staff paid a living wage and the profits go to charity. Other restaurants should study your business model. Kudos to you
We love Krebs 1899. Never a bad meal. Hands down our fav restaurant in Skaneateles. Don’t forget to also try their brunch on Sunday’s. The crab Eggs Benny is to die for, and the Bloody Mary’s are stellar.
1. Server took 30 mins to take our food order - they did get us our drinks so that’s not so bad but still. Our reservation was for 8:15pm and we ordered a little after 9pm
2. Forgot our bread, they ended up bringing it out during our entrees
3. I had the pasta which was overcooked
Underwhelming but nice space nonetheless. Be ready to spend hours for dinner.
All time favorite restaurant hands down! Great service and the food is always phenomenal! Thank you!!!
Enjoyed everything. Clean, excellent service with a nice variety of different food to choose from.
The lighting could have been a little brighter, older people need to see. Overall the service, the greetings, the food, the atmosphere of people was great.
Excellent food, service, table and value. Would definitely recommend to others and return again
Love The Krebs. You haven’t really been to Skaneateles if you have not enjoyed an evening there. The Krebs is not pretentious, pretending to be world renown. But the owners clearly respect the legacy of The Krebs and are worthy stewards. It is nice to have a genteel setting for a very nice dinner.
