La Voile Brookline
Thanksgiving evening, we had never been here before but were intrigued by the menu. The servers were well informed, friendly, and helpful, and the room was comfortable and attractive. We had a variety of choices: one of us had the brandade and the other had the Perigourdine salad. For main courses we had the lamb, medium rare as requested, and the cod fish. I had creme brulee for dessert. Everything was beautifully prepared, presented, and delicious. We tried several wines and ciders by the glass, and every recommendations was right on target. We will absolutely return here, and are glad to have spent a holiday away from family in such a welcoming and enjoyable setting.
All around wonderful! We love both locations!
Great food, drinks, and service. 100% recommend.
Great foie gras. I had the duck and my wife the filet. Both were excellent.
Outdoor dining was cold and noisy but food was so good.
The food, atmosphere and service were absolutely wonderful. I always feel so welcomed when I come here. Thank you La Voile!
Great food and wine. Could have used a heater for outside dinning.
Service basically disappeared with little or no explanation after entrees were served. Wine service was fairly amateur hour.
No acknowledgement of birthday dinner, as noted twice in reservation (but the table behind us got a Happy Birthday song, so I guess that's inconsistent too).
First courses were great, main courses suffered from lack of attentive service. Skipped dessert because at that point we were quite put off.
Fairly disappointing and very regrettable,
Food was excellent & staff was very welcoming, friendly & efficient! Will definitely go back!
We had an awesome dinner outside. The host was quick to seat us. Cocktails were awesome. Good people watching. Highly recommend!
Great starters, super service. Very friendly staff.
Wonderful service and delicious, classic, French fare! Cozy and warm ambiance!
For an out-of-necessity setup that consisted of a line of 2-tops along the side of the restaurant, sharing the sidewalk with pedestrians, with a few additional bigger tables in a parking space, this really was pretty cozy. The bœuf bourguignon was just as enjoyable and tasty as I remember, and the server was attentive and helpful.
Note, I have eaten out at restaurants only a half a dozen times since the start of the pandemic, & most times I’ve been impressed by the ingenuity and effort that has gone into making the experience enjoyable. That list now includes La Voile.
Despite the pandemic, we were able to have an enjoyable outdoor dining experience largely due to the wait staff who were very attentive to our party of five on a warm Sunday evening in Brookline. The food was delicious also!
We had onion soup gratinee , rack of lamb and coquilles St Jacques and they were among the best I have ever had in 50 years of fine dining.
My husband and I had such a great time at La Voile Brookline. The food was wonderful and the service simply extraordinarily great - many thanks to Pedro and Sam for making it a super special event :)
We look forward to be back soon.
Very good variety on the menu. Food was delicious. Not cheap but not crazy expensive either. Would definitely return
This is the third time we are back at the Voile.
Apparently the chef was on vacation! The chicken was stringy. My husband ordered the duck breast, one of their signature french dishes. The meat was lukewarm and the sauce was very bitter. Then the desserts were awful too. The creme caramel was not made of creme! It tasted more starchy then anything. The chocolate mouse tasted like icing from a store bought cake. And then their coffee machine broke and was not able to serve coffee.
In all fairness, this substitute cook that night was able to prepare decent appetizers. We had foie gras and liver mousse. They were good though.
Needless to say, we wont go back for a while. What a disappointment.
La Voile continues to impress. The service is impeccable, and the food is exceptional.
Service and ambiance was great but food quality for average. For the price, I expected more quality dishes. Appetizers were excellent but entrees and desserts were disappointing.
Love this place! It’s almost like being in Europe and having dinner. No rush atmosphere, delicious wines, knowledgeable staff- just wonderful. The whole sea bass was filleted perfectly, oysters were amazing, and the foie gras was delicious. Couldn’t ask for anything more!
A special treat to visit La Voile. Food is delicious and service is attentive. It’s become our place for a nice night out.
I would really recommend this place for people who love to try different experiences in the culinary world the food was amazing hands down to the French cuisine.
Escargot were not as good as others I have had. Service didn't work well with each other. Some things didn't come because it was someone else's duty.
We reserved for six outdoors. I said it was for a birthday. They didn't recognize that. The food was fine, but I found a hair in my soup, and another in my main course. The street noise was quite loud. I paid the entire bill as it was my wife's birthday. I would have rated it lower, but everyone else enjoyed their dinner. I didn't mention the hair's, as I wanted everyone to have a good time. They should have recognized the birthday- it was noted in my reservation (Perhaps volunteering to take a photo would also have been nice.).
Loved the experience at La Voile! The food was great and the service was wonderful
Great foodie experience here..i sat outside due to covid so it was a bit noisier than i would have liked but the food mad up for it..
Was here for Restaurant Week and it was a great deal. I had the salmon salad which was perfect then the Beef Bourgignon which was very good and finally the illes flottante which was nicely prepared on the dish.
Servers were very attentive and personable.
Delicious food with native french-speaking servers
Good food, nice people. Dover Sole is excellent!
The major problem is being suburban: the trolley many people walking by ambulances fire engines and the like.
Despite all that the service was excellent the food was perfect it’s just the ambience is lacking a bit through no fault of your own.
High quality food and service
We got escargot, foegra, lamb rack, duck confit and onion soup.
It was really hard to tell which one was the winner, all were amazing.
Always impressed by the team and food at La Voile. The outside dining was perfect and creates a very Parisian feel to it. I had the most delicious Dover sole with hazelnut butter and it was simply divine. Worth going there just for that - it really is so good!
Great date spot. Service was top notch. We ate outside. Mussels and saffron was one of the best mussels dishes we have ever had. Great lamb and duck breast. Mussels were big portion. French onion soup was also a+. We will be back.
Outside seating is on sidewalk beside a velvet rope. Tables unadorned and uneven with sidewalk Food was adequate.
Beautiful food, service and lovely outdoor seating! A perfect experience!
One of my favorite restaurants. A true French experience. Food is authentic and delicious, service is second to none. If you are looking for great French fare and a cool venue, make sure to dine at La Voile.
Excellent. Great quality French food for a good value. Good service as well.
