Lai Wah Heen Restaurant
Best dim sum in all of Toronto!! And great service!!
Wasn’t enough waiter to service customer. Food was decent but overpriced for what you can normally pay for in another restaurant. I would suggest them hiring more waiters
Amazing food, great service, very good value.
Dumplings and Peking duck were outstanding - need to come back again to try other dishes.
new years day lunch
The food was fabulous, and so was the service. The prices are on the higher side, but worth it in my opinion. Its a good place to go with a group and split the food and bill. Not ideal for a date.
Quality and value of food is great.
Service is excellent.
Parking can be hard to find depends on time of the day.
We had Peking duck for 8 on Christmas Day. The food and service were superb, and the price very reasonable.
Great service and food. The Peking Duck was delicious. Thanks for a great meal on Christmas Day
Nothing special, at an elevated price level. Can get the same quality of food in Chinatown for significantly less. The room is very hotel-restaurant. Service is weak. Have only ever heard great things, but our experience can’t confirm them.
Looking for more flavor...Cantonese noodles were poor, mushroom bokchoy pretty good.
Peking duck very good.
Expectations much higher.
The service all in all, it was a nice lunchtime experience with my family.
Super disappointing. Expensive, not tasty. Service was medicore at best. Better, and less expensive Chinese restaurants in Toronto.
Food and service was excellent.
Might be time to get some new chairs. Some of them are nicked and don't look good in daylight. The upholstery on one chair was scratched up at our table.
One of the best dim sum in Toronto. Fresh, custom made, no MSG. Special dishes like
spicy shredded chicken with cucumber
black fungus salad
foie gras and duck
abalone and scallop dumpling
The best Dim Sum I've ever been to!! will be there every week from now on...
I picked this restaurant to celebrate my Dad's birthday. Food was interesting, more fusion than authentic Chinese food. When it came time to pay, the restaurant refused to accept the OpenTable dining cheque claiming that they bounce and they would be out the money plus a nsf fee. I find it difficult to accept that a cheque issued by a Canadian charter bank on behalf of open table would bounce. I did not leave this experience feeling good .
Food is not worth the price. People are not friendly also!!! Very disappointed ☹️
Some of the food was not warm enough yesterday and it was very noisy in the 2nd half of our meal because a party of about 30 guys were standing around having pre meal drinks and chatting.
A great experience to try Chinese food, it was fun being able to try some familiar dishes done with good quality ingredients and their Lai Wah Heen twist! A must try for Chinese food lovers!
Food good but to expensive for what it is.
We had a great time
Service great and food beautiful
Pleasant, attractive space, tucked away on the second floor of a rather unpromising-looking hotel. Excellent dim sum, if somewhat pricey. Service was a little slow but very courteous. Overall, we enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and inventive take on classic dim sum.
Food is overpriced and not tasty as it’s price
My new go-to spot for dim sum. The food was excellent and the service was very friendly and attentive.
It has gone down. We did not like the way the Peking duck was served.
Waited at the front 10 minutes for someone to greet/seat us in the empty restaurant. Service very indifferent in general. Food superb. Hotel setting is very generic. Too bad, this kitchen deserves better in all other areas
Superb fine dining Chinese food. Recommended for the fine taster.
Lobster shaped dim sum was really CUTE and delicious.
Used to be much better. Felt a bit sad, with the exception of the mushroom dish, the other dishes we had were not spectacular.
very nice place to eat, very quiet , unlike most Chinese restaurant. most of the waiters are good. also if you get there early you can park at the hotel garage for $5.
As always great service and great food!
This was without a doubt the worst Chinese food we have ever eaten. No flavor, we had to put sweet and sour sauce in the fried rice just to give it taste. We have eaten Chinese food all around the US and in Europe. Boring food, boring place, don’t waste your time or money...in addition this is in a Doubletree hotel which is not mentioned in any of their marketing.
A great place to eat. Some of the best Chinese food ever.
Excellent food. Quiet and perfect for business meeting. Linens and china etc. Highly recommend- have coming here for years.
Best Chinese food ever terrific thank you
9 days in Canada, this is the best food so far. Wonderful
I had better quality before
Food as well as service are top of the line.
Great food and great service!
This being a Cantonese restaurant, the Peking duck is really a Cantonese roast duck in disguise. Real Peking duck should have only duck skin with the crepe first. The sliced duck meat is then served after that. The diced duck meat served with lettuce wrap should have Hoisin sauce but none was served. The dong po pork belly is not cooked enough to be tender enough.
