Lake Rabun Hotel and Restaurant

Another wonderful dinner at Lake Rabun Hotel. We would highly recommend this jewel of a mountain retreat at the lake!

Lake Rabun Hotel has a wonderful restaurant. We had a fabulous dinner and breakfast was delicious as well.

It is a very beautiful and rustic hotel that has been there since the early 1920s. The food was very good and the service was exceptional.

Great meal and great service. The occasion was my sister's birthday and she loved it. Also, one member of the party is celiac (no gluten) and she was well taken care of with several options to pick from. We could tell by what our server said that they take great care. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful stay and plan to go back when it’s warmer weather. The food was phenomenal in the restaurant. Service was great. Wish the rooms had balconies and bathtubs. But overall terrific place!

What a quaint wonderful hotel. While our room was small it was adequate. Bathroom could use a facelift. Breakfast was amazing! Best cheese grits I have ever had! Dinner was exceptional, 5 star restaurant and service. Staff was cheerful and helpful. We would go again and highly recommended the hotel and restaurant!

My husband’s 75th Birthday!

Cozy hotel with rooms that are each unique. Breakfasts were just the right size and tasted fantastic, date night dinner was great, and cocktails afterwards were delicious. Definitely will be going back again for a couples weekend away.

LRH Restaurant 2/15/20 We arrived early to our reservation and was offered table or bar seating. We were seated on an enclosed porch with stand up space heaters for diner's comfort. I had the brazano fish and my lovely wife had short ribs, both were good choices. We enjoyed the cozy rustic atmosphere and will definitely return.

Wonderful setting, friendly staff, and food quality/preparation that are unbeatable; specialty drinks are creative and well prepared. Staff was a little busy (President's Day weekend, Valentine's Day) and thus could have been slightly more attentive on completion ... getting a bill delivered, taking/processing credit card. But, as typical, it was a great experience. We will, of course, return often

Lively and relaxed atmosphere, even on a busy holiday (Valentine's Day). Awesome bartender, highly encourage arriving early for your reservation for a finely-crafted cocktail. We love opportunities for a finel meal here with a special focus on well cooked meats - short ribs and lamb shank are outstanding. The vibe of the place is simultaneously upscale and relaxed - you can enjoy a fine meal in jeans if you like, relax by the fireplace, strike up a tune on the piano and make new friends every visit. We are lucky to be fairly local and come several times a year.

Valentine’s Day Date

This was a wonderful choice for a special birthday dinner. The food was wonderful, moderately priced, and the ambiance was warm yet sophisticated.

What an enjoyable evening. From the very beginning the host and then our server went out of there way to make us feel comfortable and welcome. The food was outstanding and came with wonderful presentation. We will be back.

We celebrated my husband’s birthday and also stayed over at the hotel. What a wonderful experience. Very lovely place.

Lovely dinner, as usual! We love to bring our friends here for dinner! The entire experience never disappoints.

The new menu is outstanding! The trout was delicious & I especially liked Chef’s choice of sides that he paired with it. My husband raved about the wedge salad & the beef special which was a New York strip. The flavor was incredible & cooked perfectly to his liking. The service was exceptional & we will be back soon!

Lovely hotel, friendly staff, nice location, excellent restaurant

Brunch was terrific and we look forward to returning. To have this amazing restaurant and historic hotel in the forest - how lucky are we? Okay, we're locals. But if you're from Atlanta or anywhere that's a bit of a drive, book a room and stay the night. You won't regret it. The "where you are" can't be beat. The staff is always so welcoming and friendly. (Manager Josh, multi-tasker Kendall, barmeister - Cody).
The Benedict had perfectly cooked eggs with runny yolks (not all chefs get this right) and omlette had just the right amount of cheese and sauce, with a savory smattering of diced proscuitto and veg. Crispy, flavorful roasted potatoes were seasoned so well we ate them all. Biscuits, mmmm. Cleaned our plates. The best part of brunch though, was the Bloody Mary! Bacon and a blue-cheese olive...pickled okra (hey we're in the south). Way to go, Cody! See y'all soon...

This was my third time there !! I have loved it every time !!

The “new chef” they have had since May continues to do an excellent job. We both had special of bronzino. It was outstanding. Nice crisp on the skin side, moist but cooked all the way through. Flavoring and presentation great. Excellent roasted quash salad also very good. As always, the house focaccia was yummy. We continue to believe this and Fortify the best consistently good and innovative restaurants in the area.

Great food, service and atmosphere

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our first dining experience at the Lake Rabun Restaurant. The ambiance was very relaxing, our server Cody was knowledgeable, efficient and timely. We never felt rushed through our meal, our needs were met the entirety of our dining experience. I would recommend and will certainly return.

This place is a treasure. Unique, cozy and oh so good.

Never disappoints! Ambience so charming...their cocktail menu is so creative and unexpected...the Lake Queen gin coctail was deliciious flavored with cucumber and bitters. My filet was very good as was my husband's daily special featuring grilled scallops. Service was very attentive.

Let me tell you about Lake Rabun Hotel & restaurant, if you want an excellent meal, wonderful ambience, friendly wait staff and the best desserts come here as often as you like.. I just love this restaurant.. My husband just passed away 12/14/19 and this was our favorite restaurant in all of North Georgia, so Friday night I took two of my favorite Piedmont singers to dinner for Christmas. It did NOT disapoint! Excellent!! Thank you for keeping all of my memories alive. Blessings...

Enjoyable indeed, as we have a place on Lake Burton. However the food was fair at best for the price.

Food was great but the service was very slow. There were 7 of us. We waited for our server to arrive. I had to go ask for a waiter after waiting several minutes. We ordered our drinks, mostly water with lemon. Of course he delivered the water and no lemon. Some of us ordered wine. Again several long minutes before it arrived. We ordered the entrees. Some were chicken and waffles. The entrees arrived with no syrup or butter. More waiting for them while the food was cooling. We had to ask for water refills. One of our party had finished his first wine and ordered a wine to go with his entree. When the wine was served, the person had finished his entree and sent the wine back.

The service did not come close to meeting our expectations. I was embarrassed since we had organized the Christmas dinner and bragged about the food and service at the Lake Rabun Inn.

I hope our waiter was just having a bad day and this is not the new normal.

Lake Rabun Hotel is my favorite restaurant to visit for any occasion within the 50 mile radius! Love the people who work there and the ambiance. Thank you to all who gave up their Christmas Day to make ours special!

We could not had a more outstanding dinner on our 3rd Wedding Anniversary! The service with excellent and we had a lovely evening.

My only suggestion:
When I made the reservation for dinner, I mentioned that is was our 3rd Wedding Anniversary. I would have appreciated a different location than where we were sitting. The hostess placed us next to kitchen doorway and right next to the silverware station. Not very romantic for our anniversary but, the food was so delicious that we overlooked our location. I will know to request a more specific location next time.

Lake Rabun is and has all ways been a premier Mountain destination. The Hotel is a great rustic place.
A gathering spot for the N. Atlanta society. So - the food is exceptional - to meet those demands. A must go place to see and be seen.
