In honour of his visit in 1905, the Guinness family built a special dining room that still bears his name proudly to this day.The graceful setting, with rich, panelled walls and twinkling Waterford Crystal chandeliers bestows a grand sense of occasion. Our fine dining restaurant offers an expression of culinary expertise from the Estate reflecting Chef Liam Finnegan's flair for excellent produce and perfectly executed plates. Daróg Wine Bar (Irish: small oak tree) opened its doors in July 2023 in the heart of Galway city. Daróg is a place built around sharing good wine, food, and conversation. Brought to life by husband-and-wife team Zsolt and Edel Lukács, it’s a space shaped by shared passions — for wine, food, and art. In 2025, Daróg received a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand, while Zsolt was named MICHELIN Sommelier of the Year for Great Britain & Ireland. The bar was also recognised by Wine Spectator with an Award of Excellence, and named Wine Experience of the Year by Georgina Campbell.

    Cullens was everything we were hoping for and more. A picturesque thatched roof cottage outside with a warm, and quirky modern interior. The fireplace and the attentive staff were the icing on the cake. Being gluten free, I always encounter some road blocks in restaurants where they take such pride in their dishes that they don’t want to modify. Every attempt was made to insure I had a wonderful meal and both my husband and I said it was our favorite of the entire Ireland trip. Thank you Cullens… can’t wait to return!

    10/10! As a fan of The Quiet Man, I mostly made the reservation to be able to take pictures and have a Guinness ("one of those black beers"), but we got far more out of the experience. The food is incredible, the beef cheek appetizer, venison stew and duck entrees, and brownie and gelato desserts were delectable! The drinks were also tasty (including mocktails). The manager and bartender are kind, make great recommendations, and will take pictures of you behind the bar! We were sat at the Duke's table, felt extra special and well-attended-to our whole dining experience. There aren't enough nice words to describe it, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
