We get our name from John Gahan, a prominent merchant and importer of wines, teas, and groceries on Prince Edward Island in the 19th century. His former place of residence is now the location of the original Gahan House in Charlottetown, P.E. To share our award-winning ales with more of Atlantic Canada, we opened our doors and our taps in Halifax, N.S., Fredericton, Saint John, and Moncton, N.BWe began as a brewpub, and we stay true to our beginnings by having a brew system in-house, ensuring that the beer we serve is as fresh as possible.     What a fantastic experience! Our party sat outside on the Halifax harbor front with a live jazz band playing in the background as part of JazzFest. The food was an amazing selection of Nova Scotia and Maritime tradition with a modern flare. Service was incredible with friendly and helpful servers. Top scores. Definitely recommend!

    We made reservations during happy hour to grab some appetizers and drinks before our Neptune show. We ordered the beer and goat cheese salad, ahi tuna app and garlic shrimp. Al dishes were fresh and delicious. Loved the little kick of heat and spice in the garlic shrimp sauce. My husband who was also my dinner date kept his drinks simple and ordered the red pale ale which he said was refreshing and the price was right! I order an espresso martinis which was perfect and at $10 a glass the happy hour price made it that much better! Overall we enjoyed our experience. In terms of ambience it was dimly lit and had a nice casual elegance. We reserved lounge seating, expecting we’d have to be seated at the bar or in a high traffic area but our server managed to find us a cozy, private seating area which was so comfortable! The noise level was lower at the beginning of our visit but did get a little louder as more guests showed up and the lounge filled up with people watching the World Cup matches. We did really enjoy our experience and I expect to be back thanks so much!
