Lost Watering Hole, The Lancefield Brewery was born from a tiny idea two mates from Lancefield had one day whilst having a beer… “Let’s open a brewery!” They never expected that one day, several years later, Lost Watering Hole, The Lancefield Brewery would become the special place it is today. It all began in 1888, when Henry Lindsay bought the former flour mill in Lancefield and converted it into a brewery (God bless him…). Lindsay trademarked the name ‘The Trent Brewery’ and began producing both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. In the years that followed, the brewery changed hands many times, continuing to trade until early 1898, when it seems both the building and equipment were put up for auction, although it did not find a buyer. Sadly, a mysterious fire gutted the building the night after the auction, signalling its closure. Gladly, our brewery is lost no more… Today, we are proud to welcome you and your friends to Lancefield’s brewery, Lost Watering Hole.

Lunch at Whitby was a lovely experience. We sat outside along the glass windows and I was so happy that the seats both faced the same way with an amazing view of Lake Weerona. The orange juice and spiced chai were delightful. The Atlantic salmon and the Whitby benedict were amazing. The benedict was one of the best I've ever had. 10/10. Service was amazing, all the staff were bubbly and friendly. Will definitely be heading back again!

Every aspect of our dine in was excellent. The Staff were very professional, knew the Specials, explained the whole operation. An excellent wine list to choose from and wine by the glass exceeded my expectations, very good purchasing by the Sommelier, well done. We started with the entrees and were very impressive and tasty. We both had different steaks and they were cooked as requested and were magnificent, nothing to fault here. We enjoyed the experience so much that we will return again

Nice ambience in the bar area. Bit more relaxed and intimate. Great area if you want privacy. Steaks cooked to perfection, wine list extensive, excellent wait staff.
