Server was very good. Some of the best fried chicken I've eve had, crispy thin crust with good flavor and moist and tender meat. The kitchen was "backed up" so it took an hour from placing our order to receiving food. This like the other locations I've been to, feels like a well run local restaurant. Good staff, good food in a good setting. This is a go to no brainer

Food & service were excellent! We loved it all. Oysters on the half shell, shrimp cocktail, scallops served over corn risotto, tuna, & tiramisu. Our wine was reasonably priced as well. My only regret is that I had to leave my leftovers there because we were heading straight to a concert & it was too hot outside to leave it for 3-4 hrs. We’ll see you next time we’re in Grand Rapids!

What a fantastic dinner experience! Our server, Terrence (not sure on spelling, sorry, T) was the epitome of fine professional food service. I can not think of one single thing he could have done differently to improve his job performance. He was knowledgeable, prompt, just the right amount of friendly and fun. He was well versed in the nuances of the menu items including cocktails and wine. Even so, he made us feel a little extra special by bringing over the wine specialist to help us select the perfect bottle. And it WAS the perfect bottle. The wine specialist was conversant and not condescending. He was attentive to our tastes and gave us three excellent options. The one we chose was delicious, of course, as were the craft cocktails we enjoyed before dinner. The food was top notch. It sounds crazy, but I would especially recommend the chicken. Tender, flavorful, and not at all dry. The bone in pork chop was slightly overcooked, but otherwise a scrumptious plate. In fact that was the literal only detail I would say was less than perfect. If the pork had been closer to medium, the evening would not have had a single flaw. We chose to pay extra for the window seating and that was no disappointment. I would do that again, but I don’t think there is a bad seat in the dining room, considering three walls of the restaurant are floor to ceiling wall to wall windows. The surprising part? The bill. For dining of this caliber, one can pay quite a bit more than we did at MDRD. I can’t wait to come back, and I know it will be worth every penny (and more) when we do!

We have gone to Scholar many times. It is consistently fantastic! I am always impressed by the staff and the quality of the meals! We totally recommend it and always take out of town guests there.

We have been to a number of Ruth's Chris Restaurants and this by far is #1 in our book. Outstanding service and the food from the salad/soup to desserts was the best. Celebrated a birthday and it could not have been better. Filet Mignon was great. Will definitely be back.
