Amogha brings regional Indian cooking to Vancouver's Main Street — seven states, one kitchen, no clichés.Led by Chef & Co-owner Ravi Bobba, the kitchen doesn't do generic curry-house Indian, and it doesn't do fusion. We cook the real thing: Chettinad from Tamil Nadu, the river-belt heat of Andhra, Hyderabadi Nizami biryani, Mangalorean ghee roasts from Karnataka, Malabar seafood from Kerala, and the classics of Punjab and Old Delhi. Whole spices, ground in-house. Fire where it counts.Signature plates run from slow-braised Nihari Lamb Chops with hand-pulled Malabar paratha to traditional Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biryani.Alongside is a full bar treating Indian aromatics — tamarind, cardamom, saffron, rose — as primary ingredients, not garnish: tamarind sours, cardamom old fashioneds, saffron martinis, each built to pair with the food.Seven states. Taking cues from Italy’s storied south, with its famed coasts and islands, rich history, and relaxed lifestyle, Elio Volpe celebrates the best ingredients from the Pacific Northwest as inspired by il Mezzogiorno — the ancient seafaring term for the wind from the south, now colloquially used to describe that part of the country. Above all else, Elio, like its cousin Savio Volpe, celebrates liveliness, warmth and hospitality. Viva la convivialità!Reservations are available for dinner from 5 pm to 10 pm every night, and for brunch on Saturdays, Sundays and statutory holidays from 10 am to 1:30 pm. Please note, we are unable to accommodate outside food in the restaurant, including birthday cakes.
