There’s a mysterious, secretive feel to this restaurant tucked away inside a historic house, which sits surrounded by amber jewellers in the heart of the Old Town. Its ground floor has long high-topped tables that lend themselves to communal dining, while the first floor offers a bit more privacy. A concise menu uses excellent daily produce, with a distinct South American influence running through the dishes. Food prepared by our Head Chef - Jakub Śliwiński - is included in the Michelin Guide since 2024.

The name of our restaurant, Mercato, signifies the trade route of Pomerania – via Mercatorum, which historically connected Gdańsk with Southern Poland. Our menu combines local and seasonal products with culinary trends from around the world, using the latest techniques. The four symbols which inspire our menu are rooted in history – the broad bean grain, planted by the Pomeranians in e, the noble Baltic salmon, the ‘Fagas’ which was a large Pomeranian sheep bred on Zulawy, and finally the duck, used as a symbol of birds bred for centuries in Pomerania.

    Bardzo miła i pomocna obsługa na wysokim standardzie. Bardzo o nas dbali. Bardzo dobre przystawki oraz wino. Widok jest przepiękny. Dostaliśmy wspaniały stolik. Muzyka w tle była miła i delikatna nie przeszkadzała w prowadzeniu rozmowy mimo, że byliśmy blisko. Bardzo polecam miejsce.

    We loved this restaurant. Food was delicious. Not nearly as heavy as other local restaurants. Our server Sandra was incredibly wonderful. And the restaurant was right next door to our hotel. We enjoyed the beef tartare, fish, ribeye and the soup — All of it excellent. Highly recommend.

    We have visited a few Hard Rocks over the years and enjoy their menu. Gdansk Hard Rock has a great location on Dlugi Targ. Service was friendly, food was good, and wine was good value. Although there is the usual music memorabilia, the inside looked a little tired and lacked the vibrant atmosphere you usually get. I would say that it's a good option if other restaurants are busy.
