We made reservations during happy hour to grab some appetizers and drinks before our Neptune show. We ordered the beer and goat cheese salad, ahi tuna app and garlic shrimp. Al dishes were fresh and delicious. Loved the little kick of heat and spice in the garlic shrimp sauce. My husband who was also my dinner date kept his drinks simple and ordered the red pale ale which he said was refreshing and the price was right! I order an espresso martinis which was perfect and at $10 a glass the happy hour price made it that much better! Overall we enjoyed our experience. In terms of ambience it was dimly lit and had a nice casual elegance. We reserved lounge seating, expecting we’d have to be seated at the bar or in a high traffic area but our server managed to find us a cozy, private seating area which was so comfortable! The noise level was lower at the beginning of our visit but did get a little louder as more guests showed up and the lounge filled up with people watching the World Cup matches. We did really enjoy our experience and I expect to be back thanks so much!

An absolute highlight of our trip to Halifax! We had heard wonderful things about The Press Gang, and somehow it still exceeded our expectations. The restaurant itself is incredible. Housed in one of Halifax's oldest buildings, it's full of history, character, and charm. The stone walls, warm atmosphere, and unique setting create a dining experience that's unlike anywhere else. The food was simply outstanding. We started with the torched oysters, which were phenomenal, and for our mains we had the Surf & Turf, the halibut, and the Chicken Supreme. Every single dish was beautifully presented, perfectly cooked, and packed with incredible flavour. It was honestly some of the best food we've had anywhere. Our server—a lovely woman originally from Sauble Beach—was fantastic. She was friendly, engaging, knowledgeable, and made us feel genuinely welcome throughout the evening. Her attentive service added so much to an already memorable meal. From the historic atmosphere to the exceptional food and outstanding service, everything was first class. If you're visiting Halifax, The Press Gang is an absolute must. We can't wait to return on our next trip!
