First time at this Nick’s location (Carlsbad) and it was a wonderful dining experience! We were seated upon our arrival for our reservation. Caitlin, our server, greeted us with a friendly smile and good conversation. Our meals, bistro plate and chicken piccata, quickly arrived and were delicious. The bistro plate is a great value and the perfect amount of food. The chicken piccata is amazing, juicy and flavorful. I took half of the chicken home, it’s a generous portion. The restaurant vibe is comfortable, friendly and just straight-up cool.

This is our second time dining at Jeune et Jolie and we absolutely love it. The ingredients are so fresh, every plate was delicious, the staff are informed and considerate, and the ambience is perfect. No airs or pretentiousness, just great food, great drinks, and a great environment!

This is a place to take your out-of-town friends, if for no other reason than to sit and look at the beautiful Pacific ocean. Of course, it helps if the sun is shining and the waves are sparkling (they were). On the other hand, I've heard sunsets are even more glorious. The rooftop view is simply gorgeous. We arrived about a half hour early for our noon reservation and waited patiently for the restaurant to officially open. Once our server arrived, we were well-taken care of and enjoyed refreshing beverages (I particularly enjoyed a non-alcoholic ("Teetotaler") "Mezcal" Margarita) and two shared appetizers: The Spread Trio (three smallish-bowls of hummus, whipped feta and baba ghanoush, served with warm pita triangles and veggies) and roasted Brussels Sprouts, which is prepared with tahini, aleppo oil, dukkah, and honey. We kept our order small because we happened to be seated at a smallish table, but both appetizers satisfied all four of us. The food presentation is both lovely and delicious. I'm not gonna lie--the food did feel a bit overpriced (the Spread Trio itself was about $40). But we had chosen as much if not more for its ambience: how much would you pay for a birds-eye view of the ocean basked in the spectacularly beautiful Southern California sunshine?
