The 1839 Trustees’ Office was built by the Shakers as a place to warmly welcome and conduct business with the people of “the world.” Shaker Village has continued this tradition of kind service since Elizabeth Kremer oversaw the opening of The Trustees’ Table in 1968. Much has changed since our nonprofit first formed in the 1960s, but there has been one constant: good food served with gracious hospitality that will never go out of style.
